“Family vacation with young children”

We have just returned from a stay at the centara and had a wonderful time. The facilities for children were great, they enjoyed the slides, the lazy river and the other activities they could get involved in. The beach location was stunning and the pool was a great place to hang out for the majority of our days. Although we didn’t eat much at the restaurant choosing to venture out most evenings to nearby Karon and Kata we did enjoy the breakfast and there was plenty of choice for all palettes. We also loved the small restaurant at the very end of the beach which is not part of the hotel but felt like it was for a nice sundown drink and snack (Dengs Restaurant). We also took a boat tour from Ann in the reception to Phi phi islands with the Andaman Surprise company which was excellent and safe for our 3 year old. All in all a wonderful time and memories made for us as a family. Finally they also helped me arrange our taxi transfers before arrival which was great.

“Not a 5-Star Experience – Serious Hygiene & Service Issues”

We stayed at Centara Grand Beach Resort Phuket for 8 nights with our 1- and 3-year-old. Despite the attractive property and location, the stay was severely impacted by food hygiene issues, poor service, and lack of transparency. We ate almost exclusively on the property (The Cove, The Coast, and room service for most meals), and our entire family became sick with vomiting and diarrhea, over the length of our stay. This claim is not made lightly, but only after careful examination of facts, symptoms & doctor’s evaluation. We spent around 50% of the vacation caring for sick family members, and even after checkout one of our child remains unwell & had to go through hospitalization to recover. Service and housekeeping were consistently poor — slow responses, forgotten orders, missing towels, and repeated follow-ups required even in urgent situations. Issues began at arrival despite a pre-booked private airport transfer, and continued with undisclosed private pool depth unsafe for small children, confusing refund handling, and being locked out of our room before checkout without consent. Overall, this fell far below 5-star standards. Not recommended for families or longer stays.

Best hotel with great view. And the service was superb. Breakfast was good. Unfortunately due to other planed we did not Spent more time in the hotel. But that little time we enjoyed a lot. Definitely will visit you on next April.
