This hotel enjoys a great location, and we were easily able to get a Bolt taxi into the Old Town, which had been recommended by the staff. The Old Town is definitely worth a visit, with its colourful streets and distinctive Chinese-influenced architecture. We headed straight to the schoolhouse museum, which provided a fascinating insight into the history of the area and how Chinese labourers were originally brought in to work in the tin mines and eventually settled there.
Back at the hotel, we were delighted to find an elephant-shaped towel decoration on the bed along with a complimentary Mojito cocktail set, which made for a very warm welcome. As the weather was a little rainy, we decided to treat ourselves to a visit to the spa, which proved to be the perfect way to recover from our flight and journey.
On our first evening, we enjoyed an excellent Italian meal in the restaurant before turning in for the night. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a well-appointed bathroom, excellent air conditioning, and comfortable beds—everything you would expect from a five-star hotel. We also appreciated the large television, which allowed us to log into our Netflix account and relax after a busy day.
The following morning, feeling fully refreshed, we decided to visit the gym. It was very well equipped and even included an area for guests interested in Muay Thai training. After burning a few calories and returning to our room for a quick shower, we headed down for breakfast.
The breakfast selection was truly impressive. There was such a wide variety of dishes available that guests staying for an extended period could easily enjoy something different every day. The choices catered to a wide range of nationalities and tastes, and everything I sampled was of an excellent standard.
The hotel also features a wonderful coffee shop where you can relax with a drink or spend time in the comfortable lounge area, which includes a bar offering attractive happy-hour specials.
Overall, this hotel has everything you could need for an enjoyable and relaxing stay, combining excellent facilities, comfortable accommodation, great dining options, and a convenient location.
