We are currently midway through a 16 night stay in a Sky Villa at Devasom Khao Lak, and I cannot praise this property highly enough. Having stayed at many world-leading five-star resorts globally, I can confidently say this is one of the absolute finest. The beachfront location is spectacular, and the resort is immaculate in every detail, from the pristine grounds to the stunning pool areas and accommodations.
The dining is equally outstanding, with both restaurants deservingly featured in the Michelin Guide. In fact, their Thai Massaman curry is easily the best I have ever tasted.
What truly elevates Devasom from a standard five-star resort to an ultra-luxury experience is the hospitality. Every single team member we have encountered is remarkably warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to assist. From the housekeeping staff to the chefs at the live cooking stations, everyone is an absolute credit to the property. While the entire team is exceptional, a few individuals deserve special recognition for making our daily stay so memorable. Lek, who looks after us at breakfast, is an absolute joy. Her bright, happy energy genuinely lifts our day. We actually have the option to dine privately in our villa, but we deliberately choose the restaurant just to start our morning in her wonderful company.
The butler team Bobby, Max, and Nicky further elevate the resort's service to the next level. While they are exceptionally professional, it is their deep, genuine kindness that makes a massive difference in all our interactions. They truly care about how our days are going and constantly look for ways to make them even more perfect. No request is too complex for them; my wife had a highly specific and intricate request regarding a particular fragrance, and the team went completely above and beyond, sourcing and ordering the items online to have them delivered directly to the resort for her. All three butlers are at the absolute top of their game, providing flawless local insight, restaurant bookings, and excursion recommendations.
While we are accustomed to high-end luxury accommodations, our Sky Villa completely surpasses them all. Perched atop one of the residential buildings, this massive 400+ square meter, two-bedroom sanctuary features a private 17-meter infinity pool, its own bar, a formal dining room, a private steam room, and expansive living spaces. Stepping out to views of the beach and ocean with complete privacy and no neighboring villas on either side genuinely took my breath away on arrival.
Another true brilliance of Devasom lies in the thoughtful touches that other luxury brands often overlook. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a bottle of premium Champagne—not the standard prosecco or basic sparkling wine most resorts offer. For context, I recently stayed in the Presidential Suite at the Intercontinental Mauritius, and even they only provided sparkling wine.
The villa also features a dedicated private bar setup with premium spirits, and each evening the team delivers the fresh ingredients required to mix our favorite cocktails ourselves. This is accompanied by three complimentary minibars that are restocked daily with soft drinks, snacks, beers, and even cider.
Even the in-room amenities ooze luxury, from the high-end Sonos sound system to the Dyson hair dryers and fans. These meticulous details seamlessly transform a great holiday into a next-level luxury experience.
We are incredibly excited for our second week here, though we already know it will be difficult to leave a place that has so quickly captured our family's hearts. If you are debating a stay at Devasom Khao Lak, the only real variable to consider is ensuring you book it for as long as possible.
