This was our second trip to Kalima and we were not disappointed. It was great to see areas of improvement, the hotel has invested heavily to build a new more robust bridge across to it's private beach and they have also added chilled filter water dispensers around the resort for filling your own bottles.
On arrival we were greeted warmly and despite only being 10am our room was ready for us which was a huge relief after 24hours of travel. As before our swim out room was huge, well maintained and cleaned daily by friendly staff.
As we walked into the restaurant that first lunchtime we were welcomed with open arms by many staff who recognised us from the previous year. I can not praise the GM, Alex and his team enough - all staff across the large hotel great you with warm smiles and an hello, they recognise you from day one, recall your room number, drinks order and where you may like to sit. Managers were present and working alongside their staff to ensure guests were served to the highest standard.
We used all the restaurants, activities, the beach and pool and couldn't fault anything.
Being at the hotel for the celebration of Thailand's New year, Songkran was superb, so many traditional celebrations and party games ran throughout the day and evening. So special to see the countries traditions and also see how the staff who work so hard were encouraged to join in and celebrate with not just the guests but each other too.
I must mention some staff who went over and above with the hope they get the recognition they deserve .. Wit, Ball, Wut, Sathang, Ploy, Monica, Fern, Kwan and a very special shout out to Pada who treated us as family from day one.
I would not hesitate to recommend Kailma Resort and we will most definitely return to see you all again.
