“We wouldn't go any where else!”

This was our second time staying at the Kalima Resort, we came in 2022 not long after lockdown and as we loved it so much the first time we returned again in Dec this year both for a 2 week stay and again it didn't disappoint! We stayed in the one bedroomed villa with the private pool. Arrival - Warm welcome even at 3am in the morning with a cool drink on arrival and an easy check in process and transfer to the Villa. Nice to see the addition this time of the hotel app on your phone where you can book transport, message reception, book tables at the restaurants or order room service from your phone! Villa - Spacious, clean and beautifully decorated and maintained. Pool was a decent size, cleaned regularly and in a beautiful setting with sun loungers and table. They think of everything from the usual toiletries like toothbrushes,toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, nail files, earbuds, Robes, beach bags and towels, umbrellas, slippers and flip-flops so save on your packing space in your suitcase! The bed is super comfy and decent shower pressure and a huge bath. Resort & Entertainment - Beautiful resort and breathtaking grounds. They clearly listened to previous feedback as the entertainment was much improved this time round. The fireshow is fab and definitely worth a watch...make sure you book a table near the poolside at the Tin restaurant or a table on the front at the Japanese restaurant for the best view. The singers are great and make you feel very welcome and really good at what they do. The private beach was beautiful, well maintained and with the addition of the new bridge easily accessible. You can grab a cocktail and refreshments and plenty of sun loungers available. The only thing to note here is there is a riptide directly between the rocks which can be strong, there is always a lifeguard on duty but if you're taking small children or not the best swimmer I would ask advice first of the best place to paddle :) There is darts, basketball, thai boxing, kayaking and surf boards available to use. A must here is the Spa - We booked in for the lovers spa session and I would highly recommend - Yes you can probably find massages etc cheaper down the road but your paying for the service and expertise of the staff...the service was excellent. Food and Drink - We went half board so breakfast and an evening meal - The breakfast is buffet style in the Maluka restaurant which has a dedicated egg station which we used daily! The best omelettes made with the biggest smiles and welcome every morning and we loved the staff working on this station! Excellent choice for breakfast with lots of fresh options and the service was great. Tin Terrace for the evening meal which again in a beautiful setting with great food choices offering a selection of Western and traditional Thai food for mains. A change this time round from the last time we were here is that the starters and desserts were now available via the buffet stations which was a welcome change and lots to choose from. Location - Great location as a base as only about 20-30 mins to Khao Lak or the Bang Niang market which I would defo recommend. You can book a shuttle from the hotel which is free of charge but it is best to book 24hours in advance as it does get really busy but if you didn't want to be restricted in the time slots available there is always plenty of taxis available right outside the hotel reception. If you are wanting a relaxing holiday this is the resort for you...it is quite remote but we loved this! The best thing about this resort is the staff who work here, they work really hard and tirelessly to make sure you are happy and well looked after and this was one of the main reasons we came back for a second time! A few special mentions about the staff who work here and apologies if I have misspelt their names:- Our cleaner Noon who was so cheerful, friendly and did a great job of keeping everything clean and replenished. Kob & Dech - Shuttle service - Honestly they are an absolute credit to your hotel and if there is a staff recognition / reward you can nominate them for...I would highly recommend them for it. Their smiles are infectious and their friendly manner and genuine heartfelt interest in making your stay at the resort the best experience is unbelievable, Dech remembered us from last time we were there :) Sathan from the Tin Terrace - What a beautiful person she is, always remembered our drinks order, very attentive, friendly and again always full of smiles. Hopefully we will be back again as honestly Thailand, the resort and the staff that work here have a special place in our heart forever and a lifetime of precious memories made :)

“All inclusive plan and also personal impresions”

We have been staying at this hotel for a few days with a 1 year old baby and also we are here now. The hotel is ok but the "all inclusive" services are nowhere near the same as the paid ones. We come from another hotel in the same area where we had all inclusive (Le meridien Khao Lak and the difference is huge). The drinks and food are limited vs the paid menu and the children's menu does not seem at all suitable for children under 3 years old. The room looks good and was cleaned daily but it is very dark and in the bathroom you can not apply your makeup in the mirror because there is not enough light. The food at the restaurant is ok but not wow. The All inclusive plan is as follows: breakfast is served at a restaurant (Maluka) and you have a buffet , the lunch at Maluka and you can choose a starter from the menu, main course and dessert or you can also eat at the Japanese Restaurant on the beach in the same way. You can not take away the food if you have all inclusive , but if you pay separately, you can . And also for the dinner , you can eat at the Tin Terrace Restaurant where they have a buffet for starter and dessert and you choose the main course from the menu. The Japonez restaurant is with extra cost at the dinner . There is a shuttle that will take you to the center of Khao Lak or to a night market, several times a day but you have to book it a day in advance, and this is advantageous because the hotel is isolated. The hotel beach is quite unkempt and could use some improvement, there are broken trees everywhere and the bridge to it seems unfinished. On the beach bar was just a barman and if you want something you need to wait … In conclusion, if you want to relax it is a good hotel but the services for the "all inclusive" plan are very poor. It is preferable to book with Breakfast because you will be treated much better.
