We left with mixed feelings. There’s a lot to like here and we really wanted to love it, but too many small things added up and took the shine off what should feel like a five star experience. For us it sits closer to a 3 out of 5 overall.
The rooms are excellent. Clean, spacious, well set up for families, and the air conditioning works very well. The pool and beach are also standout features, with a beautiful, quiet stretch of sand that often feels almost private. The resort itself never really felt crowded and we rarely had trouble finding space by the pool.
The beach club was one of our favourite spots. Great atmosphere, lovely outlook, and the fire show and violin performer were genuine highlights. Food quality here was very good, but the menu is almost entirely western in terms of food. That works well for kids, but it would be great to see more Thai options included.
Food across the resort is generally good. The breakfast buffet in particular had good quality food and a reasonable overall variety, although it did lack a strong selection of fresh fruit.
Where things fall down is the breakfast experience itself. Even when the resort didn’t feel full, the buffet struggled at peak times. Tables were hard to find, there were frequent shortages of plates and cups, and it often felt chaotic rather than relaxed.
The setup itself also felt temporary at times. There were makeshift tables brought in that didn’t match the rest of the space, like small round white melamine tables on wheels paired with conference-style chairs, placed in the middle of the wicker outdoor furniture you see in the photos. It gave the whole area a bit of a patchwork feel rather than a polished dining space. On one occasion we were sent upstairs to a makeshift breakfast area with cold food, which really didn’t match expectations.
The staff work hard and are clearly doing their best, but often seem under pressure and not well supported. It feels more like a systems issue than a people issue. That said, some small interactions were disappointing, like being told blinds couldn’t be lowered in the lobby bar despite the only seating being in direct sun. Little things like that take away from the overall experience.
The swim up bar had a similar feel. Nice idea, but slow service at times and not particularly well set up.
The all inclusive package is decent value, but drinks are quite basic. Local beers, often not very cold, and very sweet cocktails.
The location is quite remote, which suits a quiet beach escape but does limit options outside the resort. There are a few massage places along the beach within walking distance that are better value than the resort spa.
For families, it works well for younger kids, but there is not a lot for older kids. The activities program feels quite limited once kids are around 9+, and it’s also not very clear what’s actually on. Some of the better things, like the fire show, weren’t easy to find in the app and we only came across them by chance or by checking the website. It would make a big difference if activities were clearer and more tailored to older kids, as there isn’t a lot to keep them engaged during the day.
Overall, this is a nice resort in a beautiful setting with great rooms and some genuine highlights. But inconsistent service, under pressure shared areas, and a few frustrating moments mean it doesn’t quite live up to what you expect from a five star stay.
