Myself, partner and another couple visited Thailand for 2 weeks over Christmas and New Year, after a couple of hectic days and night !! in Bangkok we stayed at The Shore for 12 nights.
There is always an element of a gamble when booking a holiday but after some research we choose The Shore, more expensive than the average hotel but from the second we arrived we knew we had made the right choice.
We were met with smiling happy faces and after efficientley sorting the paperwork out we were shown to our villas. As soon as you walked through the door the view was breathtaking, the room was spotless and the Sea View Villa amazing with our own pool and sunbeds on the balcony.
I last visted Katathani some 10 years ago and it has got a lot busier but with The Shore being at the end of the road there is no noise from passing traffic, the location cant be beaten.
The breakfast was amazing and so carefully laid out with lovely little touches everywhere, after a few days I am normally bored with buffet breakfasts but not at The Shore, even on the 12th morning we were all still looking forwards to breakfast, we cant thank everyone enough but a special thanks to 'Woody' who always new when we could do with another glass of fizz to start the day and always so happy.
The pool is fantastic (only slight niggle could may be do with a few more beds but the hotel was at capacity) and we met some great fellow guests around the pool with a few cool reasonably priced refreshments. The food was really tasty and good value.
Probably our main concern before arriving was that The Shore is on quite a slope, so the buggy service is essential and we thought we may end up hanging around waiting for one, this was not the case, in 12 days we never had to wait more than a few minutes before we were met by the happiest bunch of guys you could meet Johnny Lamborghini, Nicky Lauda and Ronnie Rolls Royce to name but a few. How they remember everyones names we will never know. But being picked up and greeted by these guys first thing in the morning just brought a smile to all our faces and the last trip at the end of the day and the genuineness was amazing. They were even happy to run you up the road to the restaraunts or 7/11, nice touch. Johnny even came to see us off and say goodbye in his own time which was lovely.
I cant sing the praises of The Shore enough but as others have said the thing that sets it apart isnt just the awe inspiring views and great rooms it is the staff, in 12 days and nights we were only ever greeted by smiling, super friendly staff who wanted to ensure we had a great time and their mission was more than achieved.
Thank you all so much for exceeding all expectations.
Mr Chris, Mr Steve, Sandie Beach and Miss Minna - Love you all x
