Very nice resort with clean, comfortable rooms and a great location. Staff was friendly and beach was excellent for relaxing. Close to great restaurants and places to see in Key Largo. Pool area was a bit small but that is not why we were there so it did not have a negative impact on our stay.

Bad bad experience. This is ok for first time families (with kids) who don't frequent real resorts and don't mind beach chairs being commandeered early morning by putting their personal affects on them just to reserve them for hours later. My wife and I came here because a friend recommended it. We were also able to use our Hilton points...equivalent to $750 per night. Granted it was memorial weekend, but this place was packed with people; lots of people. First the food: seafood should be the thing in the Keys, but it wasn't here. It's all Sysco, US Food or similarly sourced and not fresh. This was from Dry Rocks. After two bad experiences here, we didn't want to chance it at the main restaurant. So bad that one time my cloth napkin came with a bugger on it. My Screwdriver arrived with a lemon. Really bad. Chicken nachos are like Perdue dark meat precut - nauseating. Room was decent, bed as "meh". Overall nice but the resort itself seemed old. Almost like it used to be a timeshare condo complex, but taken over by Hilton with minimal upgrades. Booked couples massage at the spa. The time slots only allowed for an 80 min for me and a 50 min for my wife. It took place in a conference room on the third floor of the main hotel, not the Spa. We were ok with the time differences because my wife was interested in heading to the water to sit. At the point where my wife's massage was done, she felt awkward because her therapist left the room, leaving her alone, but my therapist continued not really giving her a chance to dress and leave. My wife looked over at my therapist to give her an indication she was done but what happens next is unbelievable: whispering..."if you wouldn't mind not looking at me, it's hard to focus on your husbands massage". Wtf. Essentially my wife sat there turned toward the corner of the room for 30 minutes until my massage was over. I had no clue what had happened. Omg...please, do yourself a favor and find another place. Read less

We spent a few nights the week before Memorial Day here (Wed/Thur/Fri night) and there was some good and some bad. In summary, we wouldn't go back and it's not worth the money, but here are some thoughts. The Good: - The food and drinks are tasty and staff is super friendly - The resort fee includes kayaks and paddle boards on the beach that are first-come first-serve - The restaurants and lobby are nice and appear new - There is an adult-only pool adjacent to a pool bar - It's a gated-entry parking lot which adds to security - The resort cats are so sweet and hung around all day. We brought them treats :) The Bad: - If you're an early riser, you won't be able to get a cup of coffee on the resort before 7am. The lobby coffee cart opens at 7, which literally meant that the staffer walked in AT 7 and said nothing was ready yet. - The room (which was an upgrade and goes for $600 a night...) was pretty banged up (literally, dents all over the walls). The whole property felt like a halfhearted rehab of an old beach motel. - The hotel is garden-style, so you get a lot of parking lot noise on one side of the resort due to the open air hallways. - Mosquitoes will literally eat you alive due to all the mangroves. - The Calusa restaurant told us the advertised daily lobster special wasn't available for dinner (it opened at 5pm, we got there at 5pm) because "the chef didn't get it ready in time" ?? - The "hammock beach" is very small and tucked in a buggy mangrove... and they took away all the hammocks on the entire property. - The beach tiki bar closed at 5pm nightly Some advice: - BUG SPRAY, even at the pool - A large portion of the rooms also have big windows that face into the "hallways" so I'd advise asking ahead of time to have a room that doesn't have that feature. This review is for Tashana, our waitress. She was so welcoming and accommodating. She was professional, reliable, and personable. We looked forward to seeing her every morning at breakfast. Highly recommend Tashana as your server! God Bless!
