The first island you’ll hit as you drive through the keys is Key Largo, most famous for it’s watersports with reef snorkelling, diving, and glass bottom boat tours out of John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park as must-do activities. Neighbouring the state park you’ll find Playa Largo set on 14.5 acres of secluded shoreline, providing your own piece of paradise to stay whilst exploring this part of Florida’s famous archipalageo. The private beach is the only thing between you and the sparkling waters of Florida Bay, where you can enjoy a range of watersports right from the hotel as well as venturing out to nearby attractions (of which there are plenty). There is a laid-back feel to the resort, perfectly in keeping with the area, but that doesn’t stop the facilities and service being up to standard. From a beach shack restaurant to a ceviche bar, all tastebuds are catered for, La Marea is a particularly great choice for locally sourced seafood and freshly handmade artisan breads and pizzas. When you’re seeking serenity after all the activity, book in at Ocean Spa where you can try specially formulated scrubs using coffee grounds, sugar, and salt. The top class service doesn’t end when you get to your room, an iPad is on hand to offer on-demand services to ensure your stay is up to scratch.

I would have given it 5 stars but we had booked a Queen - resort view room and when we arrived at 8 p.m., were told that rooms are allocated on a first come basis so we ended up with Queen room with no view except thick trees. It felt we were in a treehouse in a jungle (photo attached) rather than "a serene setting offering fantastic views of the white sandy beach, sparkling waters and towering palm trees surrounding the resort” that was promised on their website but also in their literature in resort. My tip would be to arrive as near as you can to checking in time so you can get the room you paid for.

Excellent vacation with family for a few days of R and R. Lovely spa for a special treat. Plenty of space to relax on the beach and at the pool. Can’t beat the pool bar service staff. Thank you Edwin for taking care of us! Stunning sunsets are not to be missed.

We thought the staff and the grounds were beautiful, including the patio where daily breakfast could be enjoyed. We also loved the restaurant Sol by the Sea. We especially appreciated Jacqueline, who was a waitress at the restaurant serving daily continental breakfast. Her service was excellent and she went out of her way to make my parents feel…

Just checked out from Playa Largo Resort which was the venue for my nephews prom.. Checked him into a villa which came with its own concierge. Valentina Jane took great care of him and his friends while they enjoyed their prom. Gave them an late checkout and goodies the next day and my wife a parting gift when we checked out. We were extremely impressed with the attention to detail. We had breakfast before checking out, Kadesha Amette and Jimmy on the delicious omelet station provided exellent service. They took care of us before we checked out and maade sure we were taken care of before we left. My wife is already making plans for our next visit. From the moment you pull in the valet, checking staff and everyone on the grounds take good care of you. Our pool waiter even made my wife an off the menu charcuterie board. Super thoughtful and accommodating. We all are counting the days until we come back.
