The hotel

The first island you’ll hit as you drive through the keys is Key Largo, most famous for it’s watersports with reef snorkelling, diving, and glass bottom boat tours out of John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park as must-do activities. Neighbouring the state park you’ll find Playa Largo set on 14.5 acres of secluded shoreline, providing your own piece of paradise to stay whilst exploring this part of Florida’s famous archipalageo. The private beach is the only thing between you and the sparkling waters of Florida Bay, where you can enjoy a range of watersports right from the hotel as well as venturing out to nearby attractions (of which there are plenty). There is a laid-back feel to the resort, perfectly in keeping with the area, but that doesn’t stop the facilities and service being up to standard. From a beach shack restaurant to a ceviche bar, all tastebuds are catered for, La Marea is a particularly great choice for locally sourced seafood and freshly handmade artisan breads and pizzas. When you’re seeking serenity after all the activity, book in at Ocean Spa where you can try specially formulated scrubs using coffee grounds, sugar, and salt. The top class service doesn’t end when you get to your room, an iPad is on hand to offer on-demand services to ensure your stay is up to scratch.

Stayed for 9 nights in July 2025 with family. Unquestionably the best holiday destination we have visited. Allergies were catered for faultlessly, accommodations were clean and very comfortable, food was wide ranging and delicious. But it's the people who make this a very special place indeed. Overall really enjoyed our stay and the friendly the staff who were excellent, especially Ana and Thomas in the pool area and Kadesha and Jacquline in Las Olas for breakfast. The only negative was with housekeeping which only came one day out for the five we were there even after requesting service at the front desk. With a few small corrections… Read more

Our family of four spent 5 nights at the Playa Largo and enjoyed our stay. We rented a car and had no issues with parking at the hotel. Our rooms were located in the Reef tower which was only a short walk to the pool and beach area. The rooms were very clean, good A/C, and comfortable beds. Housekeeping provided regular service to replenish towels and spot clean the rooms. We booked a Terraza cabana one day through Resort Pass. The pool was busy but never felt crowded. Service and food at the Sand Bar was great throughout our stay. Order the peel & eat shrimp, shrimp tacos, or the pizza. Our dinner at Sol by the Sea was fantastic with a great sunset view of the bay. We would definitely return to this resort in the future. Read less
