Please note, I am reviewing the Fairfield Inn at 3852 N Roosevelt Blvd, Key West, FL 33040; I say this because there is another Fairfield Inn around the corner a mile or so away. This one is right at where US1 forks to the left and right in Key West.
This review will be long because I have a lot to say.
GREAT place to stay. I stayed two nights in Room 210 (overlooking the pool) in February 2026 (my family had a second room, Rm 211, which was adjoining to mine). Check in personnel are all very nice and helpful. There is also a concierge to tell you about jet skiing, parasailing, etc.; he, too, was nice and helpful. I had contact with a few front desk personnel during my visit and each was so nice and helpful. Great employees all around.
One thing I want to bring up -- The complimentary shuttle service to Old Town: I was so happy to have that since parking is limited in Old Town. The shuttle takes you to Old Town every hour, 9am to 9pm (make reservation at front desk). Return trips are on the half-hour from 5:30pm to 10:30pm (first come, first served, no pass needed). Drivers are great (and play good music!). It drops/picks you up at the Waterfront Brewery and is a quick and easy 3 block walk to Mallory Square. I didn't know about this service when I booked my room, and I LOVED this amenity! (Remember to tip the shuttle drivers!)
Parking is free at the hotel and there was plenty. This hotel is about 3 miles from Old Town, but not walking distance. It’s a quick drive the other way to the beach (beautiful Smathers beach). About 2 miles away is a grocery store and a bunch of fast food joints.
Our Rooms: Elevator takes you up, or there are stairs. The room was sooo nice. NO CARPET (yay!) - it was beautifully tiled. There’s a work desk, big TV, small frig and microwave. Small coffee pot with supplies. Small closet. The room is not huge, but has what you need and was perfect. It is an older-styled type hotel, where the rooms open to the outside. I loved that because the greenery around the hotel is so lush and beautiful and there was always a cool breeze.
The bathroom is big with plenty of counter space and space under the counter. Full tub with shelves. Lots of big fresh towels. Water pressure is a little weak, but that's not important.
Beds are firm, clean and comfortable. Housekeeping does a fantastic job on everything in the room and common areas!
The grounds are gorgeous, lots of tropical greenery, big outdoor pool and some cabanas and tiki bar (drinks only, I was told). I was also told at check-in that we can use the pool and tiki bar next door at the Hilton Garden Inn (they serve food). Our rooms overlooked the pool. A laundry facility (no coins needed, it's free to use) is very close to those room, as is an ice-maker.
Finally, the breakfast. The lobby and breakfast area are so nice. Breakfast (buffet with lots of options) area is spotless, GREAT coffee and eats, beautiful dining room with plenty of tables inside or you can opt to eat outside.
Can you tell I liked the place? I did, very much. If I had to whine about one thing was the high sticker price. $500 a night (February). That’s Florida for ya because people flee snow for Florida’s weather, and the weather did not disappoint. Not sure of the rate at other times, but this WAS the least expensive hotel I could find (some were over $1,000).
In closing, let me add this; the chicken is the Key West mascot. If you like chickens (not the Kentucky fried kind, the cock-a-doodle-do kind), you’ll love Key West! Trust me!
