When I booked this place I was very excited. I read good reviews, the photos looked amazing, the room looked spacious.
When we arrived, my husband hated it right away. The room was very small, albeit clean and charming looking. There was no closet to hang our clothes. We had to hang them on hooks.
My side of the bed had a wet, clammy feeling to it, and I realized it was because of the air conditioning. I spoke to the gentleman at the front desk, but he really didn’t suggest moving us…only to turn down the air conditioner. I complained about my wet, clammy bed throughout the duration of my trip. Also no one cleaned the room for three days! I learned that you have to request it to be cleaned, What? There was only one young lady that ordered a dehumidifier and alerted cleaning staff of the issue. Nothing was resolved and I had to stay on a wet clammy bed until the end of my trip. On day 6 in the evening they offered to move us, but it was the last day and we didn’t want to spend our last day moving. Now this was a “premium King” room and this was one of the most expensive trips and hotel stays I’ve had. I’ve travelled in Greece, Italy, the Caribbean and other places and my costs were NEVER this high. We were disappointed….if it weren’t for the free breakfast and coffee, it would have been worthless.
On the day we checked out, the nice lady who ordered the dehumidifier gave us a refund of two nights resort fee, which was about $100. It was a nice gesture, and she is an asset to this company. However, it just didn’t cut it. Our vacation kind of sucked because the hotel was uncomfortable. We will never go back there, if we ever come back to Key West in future.
