The Hampton in Marathon,Fl., is just an ok hotel. The Hampton in Marathon,Fl., is just an ok hotel. Quality of the room is ok, air condition worked intermittently, and just when you thought it was working, it was only blowing the fan, no air condition. Room was ok, not the most modern, more like something from a Super 8. Breakfast was ok, not big selection, toasted did not work both days we were there. They could go out to Walmart and buy a cheap toaster, but obviously they were concerned about whether you wanted toast or not. Had looked at the Hampton in Key Largo and it was a little less money and offered Free Parking. But wanted to travel a little further south. Our mistake was not checking the Parking fee at the Hampton in Marathon. They charged us $10.00 per day for self parking which is all they offered. So ended paying an additional $21.00 for self parking. Looked up Hampton Inn Corporate and they say the majority of their Hotels are free parking, just a small percentage charge. Since there is no other place to park, not sure why they just don't charge $10.00 more per room per night instead of trying to nickel and dime you over parking. I guess I would understand better if it were 5 star hotel, but this is Definity not! Read less

At the breakfast bar , while the food was ok, the AC didn't work for the first 2 days, the toaster didn't work for the 4 days we were there. Now they charge you an additional $10 for parking per day. I feel this is a ripoff. Most other Hilton properties will waive the parking charges if you have a handicapped hanger. Not this location. Again a ripoff. the Fairfield next door has no such parking fee. Read less

We went out of our way to have a cocktail at the tiki bar upon returning to Hampton that evening , but to do it all over again, we would have remained at our dinner restaurant for our nightcap. My favorite area outdoors at this Hampton was a small deck seating area along the water where fish food is available. We did not get a chance to feed the fish, as an iguana appeared to munch on previously dropped fish food. Highly entertaining ! Room price was higher than I would have wanted to pay but I did have to consider location, Saturday night & spring break week. Read less

Nice stay, pleasant staff, decent breakfast. The rooms were clean and spacious. It is near everything you want to see in Marathon and an hour and a half drive to Key West as we didn't hit any major traffic. Small sitting area overlooking the Florida valley but the Gulf of Mexico is right across the street.
