As a repeat guest who has considered The Shores Resort & Spa our go-to place in Daytona, I am writing to share feedback regarding our recent stay. While check-in was great and we appreciated the room upgrade, several issues made this visit disappointing: - Parking Fees: Charging $95 per day plus tax for a truck and a small motorcycle trailer—where the trailer cost more than the truck despite taking up less space—feels excessive. - Housekeeping Issues: On the first day, maid service threw away our personal shot glasses left on top of a bottle. On the second day, a bag of our snacks was thrown out. The bed was left unmade for the first two days, and on the third day, we received no housekeeping service at all after I raised these concerns. Following a conversation with the manager on duty, the room was finally serviced, but the shampoo and body wash dispensers were still not refilled. Additionally, heavy use of carpet freshener does not replace the need for carpet updates. - Coffee Service: Waiting in a long line out the door just for a simple cup of drip coffee was extremely inconvenient, especially given that the restaurant would not allow a walk-up coffee purchase without sitting down for a full breakfast. It is disappointing to feel nickel-and-dimed during a stay at a resort we used to love. I hope you will address these operational and service issues for future guests.
