The hotel

Your very own beach retreat in ever-cool Fort Lauderdale, this sand-skirting sanctuary rubs shoulders with a private stretch of powdery sand. A lagoon pool and palm-peppered sun terrace ease you gently down to the ocean, where you can rent boogie boards, kayaks, and snorkelling gear (when the children aren’t living it up at their Surf Club). Its seaside spot’s also celebrated in the dining at Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa – with the fresh local seafood of 3030 Ocean Restaurant & Bar, the Floridian fare enjoyed on Sea Level Restaurant’s surf-side dining deck, and the option for barefoot dining on the beach.

Here’s a polished version of your review if you’d like to post it on a site like TripAdvisor, Google, or the hotel’s website: ⸻ Perfect Stay Yet Again – 10/10! This was our third stay at this property, and once again, it did not disappoint! The room was spotless, the bed was comfortable, and the view of the pool and ocean was absolutely stunning. Check-in was quick and easy. The pool area was well maintained, the daybeds were cozy, and we had excellent service throughout. A special shoutout to Allison, our amazing poolside server, and Sammi, the front desk manager, who went above and beyond to make our stay seamless. Breakfast at the Riviera offered a wide variety of delicious options, and housekeeping was consistently prompt and attentive. The beach area was clean and relaxing, with great chair service. Pros: • Beautiful views • Clean, comfortable room • Outstanding service (Allison and Sammi especially!) • Great food and amenities • Prompt housekeeping • Clean beach and well-managed chair service Cons: • Some amenities like daybeds and beach umbrellas can feel a bit “nickel-and-dime” That said, overall, this place remains one of our favorites—we’ve already rebooked for another trip! Another year in Harbor Beach in the books—our home away from home. And as always, Nuno was there to take care of us. He’s truly the best of the best and exactly what real hospitality is all about. Huge thank you to Chante and Brandon too for always making it the best experience at the best hotel in Florida! See you soon!

Not a great experience at all. We arrived at 5pm to be told the suite we had booked with a view had an inaccessible balcony and that they had no alternative to offer us. Having paid the best part of £2.5k for 6 nights I think a heads up would have been polite and professional - and we would have certainly try to find something alternative in the area. Having been told by the receptionist, that they had nothing else to offer us and that there was a general comment on their website about some facade work that we should have seen (which both myself and the agent I booked with are sure wasn't there back when booking, nor did the new website comment allude to inaccessibility) we were initially given a curt ‘sorry’. When I complained their first gesture was to offer 20,000 Bonvoy points which, any Convoy member will tell you wont cover a decent meal, and when I pointed this out the response was to change that to 60k points (which wont get you 1 night at that hotel). I mentioned again that it was a measly gesture and one which they would more than make back with their parking charges, to which they offered to waive them. Nothing else was offered and we had six days of workmen abseiling outside our window and leaving so much mess on the balcony that we couldn’t even enjoy the view through a closed window. This hotel really gives you the impression of seeing guests as $ fodder and they didn’t care of the deception and indifference in letting customers pay for something they simply didnt care that they weren't providing. We have stayed in Marriotts before (their Clearwater hotel a couple of years ago was a much more pleasant stay), but this experience of contempt towards customers paying a lot of money and a business model to take as much from the guests for nothing in return* has soured our view of them to the point that I would probably exclude them from any conventions or events I organise in the UK in the future. (The irritation is simply compounded with all the additional charges for very little in return - from the $47 you are charged daily for services pertaining to the pool and beach (even on days you cant check in until 4pm and have to leave by 11am) to offering you a bed on the beach but charging you another 32 dollars to lay on it in the shade). I have attached pictures of the mess we saw on the balcony which just got worse as the stay progressed (complemented with the ever present banging and noise and view of workmen outside throughout the stay). Shame on the Marriott for not only thinking this was acceptable for the money paid months in advance, but for their indifference and insulting compensation we were forced to accept. Read less

lNuno has a true gift for hospitality. It’s not just the speed and care of his service—it’s how warm and genuine he is. He seemed to enjoy taking care of guests, and that energy made every interaction pleasant. He gave our group personal attention like we were his only customers. Simply outstanding service that I won’t forget!

Every resort needs an lNuno! His level of service is on another level. From chilled drinks to casual chats that made us feel right at home, he struck the perfect balance between friendly and professional. The small things he did without being asked made all the difference. If you visit, I hope you’re lucky enough to be served by him.
