Riverside Hotel

Fort Lauderdale, Gold Coast Beaches

Star rating

The hotel

Full of Old Florida charm, the Spanish tile floors and and overhead fans means that this classic hotel fits in well within the Cuban feel of Las Olas Boulevard. The road is the forefront of everything from restaurants to fashion boutiques, art galleries to bars - so it's a great alternative to the oceanfront hotels of Fort Lauderdale, and the beach is still only a 10 minute drive away! There's a wide variety of dining options available within the hotel too - with Wild Sea featuring an impressive raw bar and a creative seafood menu, all of which can be enjoyed whilst watching the yachts sail down the river. The Golden Lyon Pub and Preston's Wine and Martini Lounge both offer happy hours for a pre-dinner tipple too. If you're not planning to spend much time in your room, the Micro room offers value for money, but upgrading will give you more space to relax in for families.

The hotel was recently renovated but still kept an old school South Florida charm to it. Our room was very nicely done. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was spacious for 2 people. Our balcony had a nice view of the river and sunsets. My husband utilized the desk area to do some work and he found it to be decently sized for his laptop. My only complaint about the room was our coffee maker did not work. We like the availability of restaurants on hotel property and walking distance. The Boathouse restaurant was nice for watching boats as we ate. It was an absolutely beautiful wedding venue. The ceremony was outside next to the river and reception was on an upper floor patio. The food and drinks at the wedding were all very good. The bride and groom were very happy with how the wedding turning out and it was a beautiful night. This wedding was our first trip to Ft Lauderdale, but we will stay at The Riverside again if we return. Read less

Wonderful experience during our two-night day over Father's Day weekend at the Riverside Hotel on Las Olas Blvd in Fort Lauderdale. Our weekend stay began with dropping off our car with the valet service (very professional and cordial) and a quick stop at the registration desk. We were early on arrival, so, as expected, our Suite was not quite ready. ALAN HICKS at the front desk was great! Helpful, also professional, and knowledgeable. He directed us to the Water Taxi pick up point, where we boarded with family and had a wonderful four hour boat ride up and down the Intracoastal Waterway in the Venice of America, aka Fort Lauderdale. Alan gave us a call to advise our room was ready, which was perfect timing as we were about to return. Alan seemed to work 24 hours, always available to answer questions and make recommendations. The next day hubby enjoyed the sauna in the workout center, and later in the day we enjoyed cocktails at the Boathouse Restaurant (part of the hotel) with family. The entire weekend was a great success. Our room was great, comfortable, and beautiful. The hotel is a classic and appears to have undergone a recent update. Prices for breakfast and a late snack were very reasonable. Furnishings and paint were fresh throughout the property. We hope to stay again. One question: What brand mattress does the hotel use? We had two wonderful nights sleep and would love to know the brand. Read less
