The hotel

Where is it

Across the street from Fort Lauderdale's 7-mile stretch of sandy beach. On the corner of Sunrise Boulevard, minutes from the Las Olas Arts & Entertainment District. A 20-minute drive to Port Everglades and 1 hour to Miami's South Beach. Driving time from Miami International Airport: 45 minutes.

Hotel information

240 rooms and suites on 13 floors. All with ocean views, air-conditioning, WiFi access, 49" flat-screen TV, safe, alarm clock with USB charging station, mini-fridge, hairdryer, Keurig coffee machine, Coco Mango bath amenities, and iron and ironing board.

Deluxe Rooms are 300-350 sq ft, located on the lower floors, and offer views of the grounds and the ocean, with 1 king-size bed or 2 double beds, sleeping maximum 4 people.

Ocean Curved Rooms are 350 sq ft and have views of the beach and ocean and either 1 king-size bed or 2 double beds, sleeping maximum 4 people.

Superior Deluxe Rooms are 300-350 sq ft and offer panoramic oean views, with either 1 king-size bed or 2 double beds, sleeping maximum 4 people.

Superior Ocean Curved Rooms are 300 sq ft and offer a panoramic ocean curve, with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Preferred Rooms are the same as above but are located on higher floors.

Junior Suites are 385 sq ft and have views of Birch State Park and intracoastal waterways or the ocean, with 1 king-size bed plus sofa bed, sleeping maximum 4 people.

Junior Romance Suites are the same as above, with the addition of a separate bathtub within the room.

Master Suites are 635 sq ft and feature a living room with sofa bed, sining table and six chairs, wet bar, and bedroom with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 4 people.

Steelpan (Caribbean-American fusion, open for all-day dining and drinks, with daily happy hour). 2ONE2 Breeze Lounge (speakeasy bar, open on Friday evenings).

Daily entertainment including cheese and wine evenings, ice cream hour and yoga on the beach (selected days and times, enquire at reception).

Infinity-edge outdoor swimming pool with sun deck, cabanas* and lounge chairs. 24-hour fitness centre. Access to Evara spa* (located off-site). Beach yoga. 

Complimentary WiFi access. Room service*. Parking $38 plus tax, per day (payable locally, subject to change). Laundry service*. 

This hotel has a resort fee of $46 plus tax per room, per night (payable locally, subject to change).

The valet team and the rest of the staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly. The food at the restaurant was great as well. I love that the stay includes 2 beach umbrellas, definitely saves a lot of money. The beach and everything else around the area is walking distance which is also great. 10/10 stay, definitely recommend!

Need to walk across street to get to beach. Beach wasn't too crowded. Our room came with 2 free beach chairs. Augusto was our valet. He was kind and helpful.

This is the second time that my family and I have visited Fort Lauderdale and stay at the Sonesta hotel We came back because since the first time we stayed at the hotel last year, we loved the place and all of the personnel that really makes you feel at home Hotel premises are great and its location cannot be better. Beach is beautiful warm and a great place to be with your family. There are different restaurants around which are great especially there is a Thai and a Peruvian restaurants that I highly recommend. Also, within walking distance, you can visit other hotels where there are also great restaurants As I said before, all of the personnel is very nice, but I really want to make a special mention and special thank you to Andrea from Venezuela who received us and was always open to support us Any way we need it. From the outstanding service to how quickly and kindly every need was taken care of, everything was absolutely top-notch. Every single staff member, from the front desk (especially Aaron Andrea and Evelyn who were so so kind and accommodating) to housekeeping and breakfast service(bus boy at SteepPan was so so kind and hardworking and he even talked French and the waitress was so nice, sorry, I can’t remember her name), All of you went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable—and that level of care did not go unnoticed. We have a cruise booked for January, so we will most likely be back at that time + we are thinking of coming back next summer for another 7 days :) I checked on the website, but says dates aren’t yet available… A very very special shootout to Aaron and Andrea who were definitely some of the kindest people we met. They went above and beyond to make my 50th bday vacation one that I will remember forever. Andrea checked us in and she was so kind and informative, she is a real gem!!! My husband keep telling me, I have to thank Aaron as he is just too kind and he ended up giving in a “strong canned drink”…We saw Aaron the next morning and he told us he slept like a baby lol 😂.
