The hotel

There’s nothing quite like playing golf where the greats do: this golfer’s paradise hosts the PGA TOUR’s Cognizant Classic every February, with living legends playing its famous Championship Course. Recently redesigned by Jack Nicklaus, as part of the hotel’s multi-million dollar renovation, it’s just one of 6 exceptional courses open to guests here. It’s not just the fairways that have been revamped; the PGA National Resort has also given a fabulous makeover to its renowned full-service spa, huge Sports & Racquet Club, guest rooms, and dining venues. The Butchers Club is a must try, serving signature dishes by famous celebrity chef Jeremy Ford.

I expected more, especially for the location and price. We won't be recommending this hotel to anyone, quite the opposite. 1) Around 6am we started smelling sewage coming from the bathroom. I expected more, especially for the location and price. We won't be recommending this hotel to anyone, quite the opposite. 1) Around 6am we started smelling sewage coming from the bathroom. It was coming from the shower drain. It lasted for several hours. 2) Room Service - in all my years of traveling, this was a first. When you order room service, it comes on a cart with plates, silverware and linens. Delivered in a brown bag? Seriously? For $60? Our breakfast came in to go containers with plastic utensils...and no plates, even paper, to eat on. At least it was tasty. 3) The fridge had no freezer (there are usually small ones inside) It hardly cooled our beverages. 4) The balcony - the door track and the floor were dirty and stained. The furniture was also dirty and stained. 5) Shower - there should be a sign warning the mat needs to be used, slip and fall hazard. 6) Renovation - decor was nice, yet the walls were horrible, gouged and dented in the room. 7) Hall Carpet - who's decision was it to put salmon color carpet in a high traffic area...stained and worn. 8) Check-in - not very welcoming, why is there nothing on the wall behind the counter, even a logo? The staff also did not appear to be in uniform and weren't very warm or helpful. This hotel should be 4 star +...but unless the level of care and service is addressed, it won't happen. The renovations are nice, yet they are missing the boat is so many areas. Read less

Had a great time at this resort! Pool was very nice, rooms were spacious and clean, and breakfast and dinner were excellent. Stayed with my husband and 2 kids and there was plenty for everyone to do an enjoy. Would highly recommend and would stay here again!

PGA National is a great spot to land in the area. The service, the setting, the cleanliness are incomparable. The restaurants are terrific and the neighboring restaurants are also lovely. It's nice to stay in a resort where people are happy working there...it's evident.

Spacious rooms and a nice pool. Though, the pool bar staff and servers do not reflect the rest of the staff at this hotel. The rest of the restaurants on site give great service and food. Don’t forget to visit the beautiful lobby bar. The pool is nice just maybe skip the pool bar.

PGA is a great, quick getaway that makes us feel like we're far away at an exotic resort, when we're actually only 45 minutes from home:) There are times when we want to take a trip but are limited to only a day or two. There is no time for airplane travel, much less a cruise. This exquisite, close resort is ideal!
