My husband, myself, and our 3 year old booked 2 nights at PGA National to celebrate our wedding anniversary and Mother's Day and boy were we in for a big let down. We booked a 2 bedroom villa and when arrived to our dismay it looks absolutely nothing like the pictures. It looks like they did a partial renovation there were old musty kitchen cabinets, no landscaping, half renovated bathrooms that housekeeping hardly touched (covered in hair and urine from whoever was there before us, the floors aren't even the wood like in the photos and are a sad dated trafficmaster ceramic tile. The guest service people were SO accommodating and kind and honestly the only part of the hotel that we were very grateful for. They allowed us to adjust our reservation and put us in a suite up at the hotel. The lobby, and main areas look great! But when we got to the room we tried so hard to be content. The carpet is DISGUSTING, you can tell from the dirt scuffed all down the pink hallways too. The room stunk like a wet towel and urine, and the air was damp. We quickly changed and went to dinner and Honeybelle- it was fantastic. When we arrived back to the room we literally just couldn't do it- I was so grossed out and uncomfortable I literally packed up and whisked my sleeping 3 y/o back in the car and we left and went to another hotel. I will say that the hotel manager was incredibly understanding and immediately offered us a full refund when he was we were running for the hills. For that we are grateful. I'm so sad because I've always wanted to stay here but my god you guys really need to get it together- please start by replacing the carpets immediately. Read less

We stayed at the PGA National Resort for a wedding. We found the resort old and dated, and the room was just OK. Not all but some of the staff were not very friendly nor helpful. The restaurants were not open nor was there room service past 10 PM. For the price you pay, you would think that you would have an outstanding experience, but it was… Read more

Image of the Tripadvisor rating Avoid this Property At All Costs - Awful Overall Experience from Check In to Check Out!

I stayed at this resort for a business conference. I have never stayed at a property of this caliber and had a worse overall experience than I had at PGA National. The misery began right away upon check in. The clerk advised the hotel overbooked the property and that I would have to stay in a lesser room than what I paid for for one night, then change to another room the balance of my 4 night stay. Having booked my room in January for an April stay, it should not have been a surprise that I arrived expecting the room I paid for. After arguing with the next level management up from the clerk, I was given a room that I did not have to move out of after one night. However, this was not the room I paid for and there was no compensation to offset the downgraded room. On Day 1 of the stay, my wife ate at the pool which had an extensive menu. On Day 2, this menu disappeared and the options dwindled to a hamburger, hot dog, or nachos. She felt like she was attending a AAA ball game vs. staying at a supposed four star property. Later in the week, the lobby bar ran out of Bulleit bourbon and the bar tender advised they would not be getting any more for the balance of the week! During two nights of our hospitality reception, we were jammed into crammed hallways not at all conducive to networking with other attendees. I have never seen such gross incompetence at a property of this stature. The downgraded room I was put in was dated with furniture that looked like something out of a Jetson's cartoon. If you desire to be treated like a second class citizen, this is the resort for you. Extremely disappointed and we will never go back! Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating I'm surprised such a dirty hotel has gotten such rave reviews.

I'm so surprised at the 5 star reviews. I'll start with the good. The wait STAFF is amazing! They try to get any little request for you. So friendly, in this day where staffing is challenging they have found some gems. The conference area looks updated and clean. The rest, not so good, I wish I took pictures. The hotel is going for old Florida… Read more

So friendly, in this day where staffing is challenging they have found some gems. The conference area looks updated and clean. The rest, not so good, I wish I took pictures. The hotel is going for old Florida vibe so not trendy decor and that's fine, the problem is the carpets are so filthy they can no longer lift the dirt with vacuum cleaners. This is in all the hallway areas and some of the guest rooms. The seating in the common areas also shows signs of wear and dirt. My coworker said the sheets in his room were stained. The TV in our room did not work. If you are not a golfer, there is nothing to do and nothing near by, no walkability. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Top notch on all counts

The PGA National Resort is truly a wonderful place. Bedrooms are functional and reasonable view. Nicely decorated. Staff are great but surprisingly sparse on knowledge of the resort outside of what they specifically work on. Nice bar, great restaurants and great golf.
