Restored to its 1888 glory, and registered in the National Trust Historic Hotels of America, this Moorish castle-like landmark is a very special place to stay. With authentic period features and decor, you really will feel like you have taken a step back into yesteryear. This hotel was the hang-out of aristocracy and royalty; inside, it's all tapestries, velvet and chandeliers, with top-class dining and discreet service. It's in the heart of the Historic District, where you'll find boutiques, antique shops, museums and more. The Poseidon Spa is a great addition to this luxurious hotel and provides the perfect place for some relaxation and pampering. If the hotel itself isn't already enough, you've got access to the private Serenata Beach Club on pristine Ponte Vedra Beach, which is just a 15 minute drive away. Enjoy a day on the beach with your toes in the St Augustine coquina sand, or splashing around in the family pool before an oceanfront dinner.

Formerly the best, now one of the worst

Casa Monica used to be the best hotel in St Augustine, I’ve been a regular visitor for over a decade. It is now comfortably one of the worst hotels in Florida. You’ll be lucky to get a room with hot water, the rooms consistently smell bad and are not cleaned to a high standard. The tap water smells disgusting, even for Florida. Unsurprisingly my…

Unsurprisingly my family and friends got quite sick after staying here. Avoid at all costs until new management takes over.

Friendly and efficient employees. Very fast valet parking. Room is beautiful with plenty of drawers and space. Ask for pillows, etc. early since it can take a while. Breakfast was in a nice restaurant with great service. Bed is VERY hard. Pillows are meh.
Very Disappointing

This expensive hotel needs a complete overhaul. I realize the hotel has a Spanish colonial style, but everything was pls. Every room had red velvet headboards, which are outdated & kind of skeevy. The furniture was worn, frayed and had chips & nicks. The bathroom was pedestrian and dated. It took a very long time for the water to heat up in the…

The furniture was worn, frayed and had chips & nicks. The bathroom was pedestrian and dated. It took a very long time for the water to heat up in the shower & sink. The restaurant didn’t seem to have food that was offered on the menu, like rye or multigrain bread. The meeting room/ballroom was downright depressing, & banquet food was awful. They did have nice bathrobes & amenities. We had an event & had to stay at the Casa Monica. We were in Paris a few months ago & stayed at a Marriott Bovoy, which was also very disappointing. It’s too bad, because the name Marriott was synonymous with a fine hotel.

Great Service at the Casa Monica

This hotel gave us the BEST SERVICE we’ve ever had. Literally every staff member we met (valet, front desk, cleaning staff, restaurant greeter and waiters) appeared happy to meet us, glad to see us and more than willing to help.
The location is great for touring historical St. Augustine, and the hotel itself is a historical charmer. Food (we had…

The location is great for touring historical St. Augustine, and the hotel itself is a historical charmer. Food (we had breakfast) in the onsite restaurant was also very good. But the reason I would choose to stay here again (despite it being pricey) is the true southern hospitality of the staff.

Not the best for the high price

Hotel was extremely dated, certain staff were rude and snotty, and the elevator was not functioning properly. The food at the restaurant was sub par. For some reason, upon check in, we weren't allowed to go up to the room ourselves. The bellman had to accompany us bc they said there were problems w the room key only upon check-in. Sketchy..…
