The hotel

Visits to Florida aren't all about theme parks and children's attractions - there's plenty of places full of history and culture to explore at a slower pace, and St Augustine is one of them! Claimed to be the oldest city in the US, you can enjoy a mix of a beach holiday with an educating city break staying here at the Embassy Suites right on the oceanfront. Upgrade to a room with a balcony for views of the expansive pool and the beach all in one - because that's how close you are to the sand! The Castillo de San Marcos is the oldest masonry fort in the continental US, and it's just 10 minutes away for you visit and explore. On your way back, enjoy the many bars and restaurants in the area, or cool down at Castaway Cantina back at the hotel with it's impressive selection of cervezas - it certainly fits in with the Spanish feel of this town.

We had an absolutely AMAZING stay at the Embassy Suites on St. Augustine Beach! We have been coming to this resort for three years now every July and have found it to be a positive relaxing experience each time. Our favorite bartender, Harrison, was here the last time we came to visit and makes us feel very welcomed and at home! He works in the Rhum Bar up in the lobby where the drinks are delicious. The pool was dreamy and the food at Castaway Cantina was also very tasty. We will be back for sure! Read less

Disappointing Experience Despite High Expectations We recently stayed at this hotel, booking three rooms and spending over $15,000—not including additional expenses on food and drinks. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of expectations. • Check-In Issues: Upon arrival, we were not given our rooms for over four hours, despite multiple pending charges on our credit card. The front desk staff, particularly Joe, was unprofessional and loud, repeatedly discussing our credit card issues in front of other guests, which was embarrassing and unnecessary. However, Matt at the front desk was phenomenal—professional, courteous, and went out of his way to assist us, which we truly appreciated. • Cleanliness Concerns: The rooms were not properly cleaned. Beds were either messy or not made at all, and the floors had clearly not been attended to. • Unwelcoming Atmosphere: While waiting for our rooms, we sat in the restaurant area to eat food we had brought with us. The area was empty, yet we were told to leave because outside food was not allowed. The bartender seemed more concerned about her manager’s reaction than guest comfort. • Restaurant Experience: When we tried to dine at the restaurant, Katie K (from Hungary, according to her badge) immediately asked if we had a reservation and warned us it would be busy due to the 4th of July. While her approach felt abrupt, Mario G was kind and helpful in getting us on the waitlist. • Positive Note: Maddox at the bar was the highlight of our stay—friendly, welcoming, and professional. He was the only staff member who made us feel valued as guests. Overall, we did not feel welcome and felt judged throughout our stay. For the price and reputation of this hotel, we expected much better service and hospitality. Read less

We booked an ocean view room several months ago. On the day of arrival, we were told the room we were assigned didn't have air conditioning. They did not have the same type of suite available for us. Although we saw many ocean view suites inhabited.. we did not get one. Apparently, the a/c maintenance issue had put a whole wing of rooms out of order. Many guests were rebooked to different Hiltons in the area. We were able to still stay here because we booked direct- however - we did not get the experience we were looking for. We were offered a free meal in the restaurant, a free valet, and a room with rust all over the tub. The staff seemed put out by our disappointment when we checked it. Furthermore, we discovered the a/c issue happened 5 days before we checked in - they never bothered to call ahead of time and make arrangements. They claim to be the nicest property at St Augustine Beach but can't maintain the a/c? It makes me wonder what else isn't being maintained. Im still scratching my head. We missed out on Honors Reward points and the suite we reserved. Not Happy. Heads up - daily resort fee, mandatory valet parking will add an additional $70 to your nightly stay. Maybe you should go to Vilano Beach instead of St Augistine. Read less

This is a very nice hotel with a good breakfast. Beds were relatively comfortable as were the pillows. Great service at the pool bar and had excellent fish tacos. Great pool area with towel service and hot tub. Definitely recommend. Will return.

We stay here for my birthday. Jianna that worked the front desk was great! She was so professional and accommodating. Everyone was very welcoming. The hotel was beautiful and clean. There were enough chairs by the pool. We would definitely come back again!
