Stopping off in St Aug back to Jacksonville from Ft Lauderdale. Checked into a beautiful lobby with gracious concierge. We then took our luggage to the room, which meant going past the restaurant past the laundry room to the elevator. We come into the room and although nice, is very small. We turned on the air conditioner because it felt warm in the room, it ran so we went and had dinner, when we came back from dinner the room was still hot. So we called maintenance and they sent up two gentlemen. Due to a major language barrier, they set the air conditioner thermostat at 60 and change the filter. During the evening, the room would get warm, and then every minute or so the air conditioner would blast on and then turn off, then it would recycle itself blast on and then turn off. I don’t think it ever came to a comfortable temperature in our room nor were we able to completely rest because of the constant and off from the air conditioner. Although we are members of Hilton honors, I don’t think we will come back. Read less

Very comfy. A little noisy at night on the Charlotte Street side, so definitely ask for the bayfront if you can get it. Signage is small and the driveway (on Castillo, not on Avenida Menendez) is easy to miss. It is just slightly past the "Tini Martini" bar. Parking is valet only and below ground level under the hotel. There is a tiny "lobby" sign… Read more

Signage is small and the driveway (on Castillo, not on Avenida Menendez) is easy to miss. It is just slightly past the "Tini Martini" bar. Parking is valet only and below ground level under the hotel. There is a tiny "lobby" sign in a recessed nook for the walk-in entrance from Charlotte Street, so look, instead, for the Aviles restaurant sign that is easier to spot. Staff was very helpful. Breakfast in Aviles was delicious, with excellent, friendly, service. Read less

In my view, this property is a hidden gem, right on the main drag downtown and within walking distance to everything in St. Augustine. Reasonably priced, staff was uniformly helpful, pleasant and efficient, starting with the car valets and working through the front desk and beyond. Our Bartender Mike was a great conversationalist, and at every turn the folks there made our stay a pleasant one. The physical plant is modern and up to date, and I can't think of a single negative we experienced during our stay there. I'd say, if you're heading to St. A., check out this place first, before they raise the rates. You will not be disappointed. Read less

Great location able to walk to everywhere downtown in the historic area. At check in, Beverly made certain we had a great room with our own private balcony overlooking the Bay. Old hotel but very well maintained. Staff very friendly from valet for your parking, to bartender. Room did not disappoint. Very comfortable Highly recommend

This Hotel was exactly what we expected and more. We went to St. Augustine for Mother's Day weekend. We wanted to be right in the middle of historic district and that is exactly what we got. If you don't want the hustle of the district this is not for you. I will say surprisingly after about 9pm the whole area closes down and it is very peaceful. Our room was perfect. At first I was concerned over being on the first floor. We couldn't hear anyone upstairs but know people were up there. One thing to keep in mind and manage your expectations: Room size... this is a modern recreation of a historic building in a historic area. The room was sized great for a normal hotel room but don't expect the oversized rooms of other Hiltons. Love the chaise lounge and desk in the room for down time. It rained a little so part of my Mother's day so we did some video game streaming on our laptops, Wifi was great. Staff from the concierge and valets to service staff and Aviles restaurant employees were all amazing. Both gentleman at check-in and the wonderful lady at check-out were super helpful with information and ready to assist with needs. Read less
