I really wanted to like this hotel, but I’m extremely disappointed and frustrated with the room’s ‘energy saving’ air conditioning system. I’m staying here right now, and I’m having a lot of trouble getting any sleep because the AC is very obviously not running normally during the night.
The AC does seem to run normally during the day. However, at some point during the night—this seems to between the hours of around 10 PM to 4 AM—the AC system automatically throttles itself to not cool the room below what feels like about 70 degrees.
I tend to be very sensitive to temperatures when sleeping. If a room is even a little too warm, I simply am unable to sleep. This room temperature is simply way too warm for me. I’m trying to sleep with nothing other than the sheets covering me (which is pretty annoying and uncomfortable on its own), yet even that isn’t enough to help me get any sleep in this situation.
For the price I’m paying to stay here, it’s downright infuriating to have to encounter a problem like this. I get that the hotel is trying to save money on energy costs, and I’m sure they believe most guests won’t notice the thermostat throttling in the middle of the night. However, I can very obviously notice it because it literally wakes me up in the middle of the night.
To make matters worse, the walls are surprisingly thin here, so this hotel is also extremely noisy during certain hours.
For those reasons, I absolutely cannot recommend this hotel to anyone who is a light sleeper, and especially anyone who needs to sleep in a cool room

Food…… another level treat yourself to the opal sol’s restaurant Drift, the whipped feta is big enough for two to share! We had breakfast at Toast ( also at opal sol) and the overnight oats where fabulous and we also had breakfast at sea Guini in opal sands which was just lovely, the service was out of this world. The views from you Balcony is priceless watching dolphins and pelicans all day. The pool staff taking drink and food orders are also great, can’t fault this hotel at all.

We loved the photo shoot amenity, it was a free photo shoot and you pay for the pics you like. Obviously we ended up getting more pics the we thought. But we were happy with the experience and the pictures.
