“Dean Patterson in Valet”

First off, I stay in Marriott’s & Hilton’s while I travel every week. This was the most expensive aloft I’ve ever stayed at. Mandatory $25 valet parking which my car moved 20 feet. My main reason for the review was the valet guy dean patterson. This guy has serious attitude issues. Pressured me & made comments like a couple dollars is not sufficient for a tip. Basically told me his expectations. Rolled his eyes and stormed off like a child.

“Tries too hard to be hip, fails on basics”

Well located downtown, this feels like a new hotel. We love a good boutique hotel but this was not it. It felt like they were trying too hard to be hip, and failing. Possibly because it is part of a corporate chain, the personality feels forced? For $300/night we had high expectations for a level of comfort to be offered. Let me count the ways we were disappointed: No luggage racks. Thin walls - we could clearly hear hallway conversations, the ice machine across the hall, and trash truck sometime during the night (we were on the 3rd floor). The HVAC system was noisy and went off and on all night long. No nightlight in the bathroom - it was either completely dark or blindingly bright. We will not be staying in any more Alofts based on this experience.
