“Could do better”

Location was nice. Traffic can be horrible getting there and out. Easy access to the beach and pools. Atmosphere: Contemporary Coastal with Art Deco/Floridian touches. Pool area: Nice and spread out with a lazy river. However, lots of loud kids. Adults Only Pool Area: We opted for the adults only pool area and cabana day bed. Unfortunately the curtains are fixed and could not block the sun. They had to maneuver an umbrella stand to block the hot Florida sun. Our attendant William was very helpful and attentive. It can fill up as the adults try to avoid the masses of kids. Animals: Loved the tortoises, Jack and Rose. The large lagoon with sea creatures (you can book a snorkeling adventure) was cool. Pretty shallow and made for beginners. Creatures can be viewed from some glass sides. The animal guides were very knowledgeable. Dining: Lots of options but be warned- the restaurants book up during high season so don't expect to get in as a walk-in even as a hotel guest. The food at CW Prime, Riva, Aura and the bakery was good. The Brunch buffet had a nice selection. Spa: Same thing. Book in advance during high season or you won't get in. I was very disappointed since I did a 1 hour special gel manicure which they charged $150 and added fees but couldn't use the spa facilities. The public information was misleading as it appeared that hotel guests could use the facilities with the salon. The resort needs to do better in informing the guests about the spa, booking and use of facilities. Looks like other reviewers mention the lack of information. Be aware of extra charges: The resort charges numerous fees for everything. $65 for a resort fee, $55 for daily valet, and various taxes. Covered day beds at the adult pool are $175 plus.

“Beautiful Property”

The resort is beautiful. Our room had a lovely view and was well designed. There was a large closet area with adequate space. Service was excellent, we were greeted by any staff we encountered. Bellmen and valet were very helpful. Housekeeping was very good and responsive to a special request for only caffeinated coffee and extra cream for the room. The lobby bar was lovely with a player piano. The beach was large as was the primary pool. There is also a small adults pool. The fitness center and spa very well appointed. The only improvement would be to offer a map of the property or a least an overview upon check in. We had to wander around to find things.
