My husband and I spent the weekend at the AC Hotel Clearwater Beach and overall had a great experience. I’d give our stay a solid 4 out of 5 stars.
One of the biggest highlights was the staff. The valet team was awesome and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. We had the opportunity to get to know Tyson, Victor, Jackson, and Alex, and they were all friendly, welcoming, and provided excellent service.
Keisha at the front desk was also fantastic. She warmly welcomed us, thanked me for being a Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite member, and gave us some great recommendations for things to do and places to eat in the area. Those personal touches really added to our experience.
Our room was very nice overall. We had a great view overlooking the pool and could even see a portion of the beach about a block away.
There were, however, two issues that kept this from being a 5-star stay.
First, the water pressure in the shower was extremely poor. It was probably the biggest practical frustration with the room and definitely something I hope the hotel can address.
Second, I really disliked the glass barn-style door on the bathroom. There was roughly a 3/4-inch gap around the door that you could actually see through, and it provided very little privacy. Sound privacy was essentially nonexistent as well. When you’re sharing a hotel room with someone, nobody needs to hear every detail of the other person using the restroom! I sincerely hope Marriott reconsiders the use of barn-style doors for hotel bathrooms. A bathroom is one place where guests should be able to expect some actual privacy.
Those issues aside, we genuinely enjoyed our weekend in Clearwater and had a very positive experience with the hotel and its staff. The location was convenient, the room and view were enjoyable, and the service was excellent.
Overall, 4/5 stars. I would definitely consider staying here again, particularly if the shower water pressure were improved. And another big thank-you to Tyson, Victor, Jackson, Alex, and Keisha for helping make our weekend such an enjoyable one!
