Where is it

In a great location, across the road from Sand Key Park, regarded as one of the USA's best beaches. The Shoppes on Sand Key Boardwalk offer a variety of shops and restaurants right on the doorstep of the hotel. Distance from Tampa International Airport: 23 miles. 

Hotel information

220 1-Bedroom Suites on 10 floors in 1 building with 3 lifts. All with bay views, balcony, air-conditioning, separate living room, 2 TVs, WiFi*, tea/coffee making facilities, bathroom amenities, fridge, microwave, safe, iron and ironing board, and hairdryer.  

Suites are approximately 500 sq ft in size, and feature either 1 king-size bed or 2 double beds in the bedroom, plus a double sleeper sofa in living room, sleeping maximum 5 people (with maximum 4 adults).

Free trolley transfer to the beach. Hotel shuttle on Lisa's Beach Buggy. Clearwater Jolly Trolley stops right outside (guests must show their room key for complimentary transportation on the trolley). Complimentary Self-parking, Valet parking $30 per day plus tax (payable locally, fees subject to change). 

Watercolour Grillhouse (open for breakfast and dinner). Watercolour Lounge (serving dinner and drinks daily, plus sushi on select evenings). Kokomos Bar & Grille (poolside casual restaurant, open for lunch and dinner). Bistro on the Bay (coffee shop, open throughout the day).

This is a great hotel, close to everything and yet far enough from the crowds of Clearwater beach area. Great pool and bar area. Rooms are very spacious for a king and many rooms have a balcony!!!! They offer free bikes up to 2 hours and the beach access is fairly close, they do have a shuttle as well.

Clearwater Beach Marriott Resort on Sand Key – A True Gem From the moment we stepped into the Clearwater Beach Marriott Resort on Sand Key, we felt completely welcomed and cared for. Despite the busy holiday weekend, everything flowed seamlessly—testament to the resort’s well-organized and gracious team. Check-in was a breeze, thanks to Ruth and Tiawon at the front desk. Both were incredibly kind and welcoming, setting the tone for our stay. Our room was ready upon arrival, which was such a relief after traveling. Being placed on the top floor was a dream—the view was absolutely breathtaking. We grabbed lunch at Kokomo’s Bar & Grille, and the food hit all the right notes—flavorful, fresh, and satisfying. And having a Starbucks on property? A major win for our travel routine! Dinner was a true highlight. Adam’s energy was infectious, and he made the evening feel personal and joyful. Kevin, our server, was simply outstanding—attentive, personable, and incredibly knowledgeable. He made the experience unforgettable. A quick shoutout to Gorge, who drove us to the beach—he was a joy to chat with and made even a short beach trip feel special. The heat was no joke, but the experience was still worth it! From beginning to end, our stay was full of genuine hospitality, thoughtful details, and meaningful interactions. We’ve experienced an occurrence that has never been incurred by us at any other hotel. On 4May25 a non refundable pre-paid reservation was made for 24-26May25 for a high floor room. Upon our arrival, we were told that we would not be receiving a room as described. We were told that we had to pay extra for the high floors. Upon showing the staff person that we did in fact already have a reservation for a high room (and showed it to her), the tune changed and we were told that they were fully booked. They said we could change rooms the following day and gave us four meal vouchers for $30 each. We agreed and went to the room. When we got to the room on the 3rd floor, we disappointed because there was a 7’ wall blocking the ocean view from the front window (why?) and the balcony at the back of the rooms are above a restaurant. We were turned off by the noise and smoke. We discussed the matter further with hotel management that whole point of a reservation was to RESERVE (meaning “hold”) a room for us. We acted weeks in advance AND riskily paid for a non refundable AND at a premium price. We were told that the hotel overbooks the number of reservations similar to how airlines operate. It was explained that members with higher membership status could bump others with lower status. They said we could have called to inform the staff that we were coming. Perhaps we could have used the Marriott Bonvoy app to check in (my thought). In any event, all these caveats make no sense to us since we thought we understood the meaning of “reservation”. Since the word has a different meaning at Marriott, I thought I’d share this info with others and be more informed than we were. To conclude, we did not stay in the subpar room that was foisted upon us. We requested and received a refund and stayed elsewhere. Read less

This hotel has always been our favourite hotel in the area and over the Winter, has had a refurb. It is in a great location with beautiful bay views one side and across the road, the Sand Key beach. We would walk there at night but there is a free buggy which takes you across if you prefer not to walk. The Jolly Trolley calls in at the hotel which means both North and South Beach of Clearwater is literally a 10 minute ride away with all the restaurants. The rooms are fresh, modern, well appointed with comfortable beds. All areas are kept spotlessly clean. Michael and Wilbur, who do the Valet Parking, cannot do enough for you and are a wealth of information on the local area. The poolside bar is Kokomo's where the food is delicious and a shout out to Sarah and Jason who are super efficient and friendly. Read less
