We stayed 3 nights with our family in a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom room. It was FABULOUS! This is one of the best Marriott’s we have stayed at in a long time. The service and the staff is what makes this hotel great. Whoever the manager is, needs to be extremely proud of how this hotel is run. 10/10 for the staff. The valet guys are friendly and prompt with bringing the cars around. The front desk staff will remember you by name and greet you each time they see you. The biggest thing that was impressive was housekeeping. We actually received a call on our cell phone one of the days asking us if we are happy with our service and if they could do anything extra for us. Housekeeping was awesome each day for daily services as well as turndown service. The restaurant on the main level was AWESOME for breakfast! Shout out to James!! He’s the best server and so friendly! Also, big shout out to Terrell who makes the omelets! He literally made the best omelets everyday. He was so sweet and nice to talk to every morning. All the food was fresh, hot and displayed beautifully. Also, great coffee!! Speaking of coffee… a big thank you to Gabriel at the little coffee shop/pastry area of the hotel. He made the best coffee drinks and was super friendly. The outdoor area of the hotel is beautiful, but the beach area is small and our family didn’t go in the water (there was a health advisory for bacteria when we were there). I would say this part was the only negative about the hotel. It’s situated near a bridge and the water isn’t as clear as some other areas of Clearwater Beach. If you’re looking for the beach, I would recommend going a few blocks down to the center of Clearwater beach and spending the day there. The rooftop pool is where we spent our afternoons. The food there is just ok and it’s $$$. The service is fantastic, but if you’re there on a weekends, plan to get chairs early, because it gets crowded. It was full when we were there, but not to the point where it was uncomfortable. All the guests were friendly, so it made it enjoyable. They had a DJ on Saturday afternoon and that was fun. If you’re looking for super quiet, then this is not for you. Our room was really spacious and nice and we had a huge balcony and a water view. The bathrooms were large and the beds were comfortable. The showers are HOT…so be aware! The pull out couch was a little too firm, but it was ok for our youngest son. We were on the 8th floor, so I would caution anyone with young kids to avoid that floor. The ballrooms are on that floor and there was a wedding going on. The music from the DJ was so loud, our room was shaking! We go to bed late, so it didn’t bother us so much, but if you have little ones who go to bed early, I would avoid those rooms. The music stopped at about 11:05 pm. Other than that, the stay was awesome and we would return. The staff was the best and made our time enjoyable. I highly recommend checking it out! Read less

The spa was an absolute experience. Clarissa had angel hands. She helped me with tension on my hips and shoulder area. I left feeling soooo amazing. Chris and Julianna were also very sweet and helping me with everything. I would definitely come back just for the spa! 10/10

I visited JW Marriott to celebrate my birthday at the roof top bar The Deep End. The entire experience was great. Upon arrival the valet Tim gave me a warm greeting and asked if there was a special occasion. The waitress Gigi was very attentive and manager Fabio ensured all was well and presented me with a beautiful and delicious complimentary birthday drink. The food was delicious, hotel clean, views great and atmosphere was chill. As we were approaching valet to leave Ricky smiled and asked how my birthday dinner was. Colin promptly retrieved our car and Tim offered us a water bottle for the ride. I would definitely recommend and will return when I am back in town. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Disappointing Stay as a Platinum Elite Member – Marriott Falls Short on Recognition

★☆☆☆☆ (1/5) As a loyal Platinum Elite Bonvoy member, one would expect consistent recognition of the elite status, but this new Marriott property failed miserably on multiple fronts. From upgrades to basic courtesies, the lack of attention to elite benefits was glaring. Check-In & Room Upgrade: Despite confirmed availability of ocean-front rooms and suites, I was denied an upgrade without explanation. It’s unacceptable to prioritize Ambassador members while ignoring Platinum Elite guests especially when the inventory was clearly available. This alone set a negative tone for the stay especially with the views of the room given, posted below. Rooftop Pool Experience: The pool itself was nice, but staff indifference ruined the experience. When requesting shaded seating (with many canopies available), I was initially dismissed and forced to be under extreme sun exposure. Only after escalating to another employee was I relocated a basic courtesy that shouldn’t require a fight. Dining at "The Deep End" The food was delicious (vegetarian options were appreciated), and the sunset views were stunning. However, service was slow - over an hour for our meals, even with kids. Late Checkout Denial (Then Approval After Pushback) The most frustrating moment was being flatly denied a 4pm checkout at 8:30 AM as a Platinum Elite benefit. Only after demanding to speak with the Director of Rooms was it granted. Why should guests have to argue for what’s guaranteed? This lack of policy awareness is inexcusable. Final Thoughts: This property severely undervalues elite members. Poor training, inconsistent service, and dismissive attitudes overshadowed the few positives (good food, nice views). First impressions matter, and Marriott missed every mark. I won’t return and I caution fellow Elite members to lower expectations. A shame for a brand-new property. Read less
