“Basic Hotel --- Not really even on the beach.”

This property is far from what I would consider a true resort. The food was very basic, and the small waterfront area should not be advertised as a beach. It felt more like a canal-side hotel than an oceanfront or Gulf beach resort. There are no real ocean or Gulf views, and it is a long walk from the main Clearwater Beach area. Honestly, this felt like the “Temu version” of a JW Marriott—closer to a standard DoubleTree experience than a luxury resort. Do not assume that the JW Marriott name automatically means you are getting something special. Do your research before booking. I was not impressed and would not stay here again.

We stayed 2 nights in Clearwater and drove down from Orlando. The hotel has valet parking and once arrived we didnt move the car again Booked a balcony room facing the sea and the private hotel beach was also just below. From the balcony we could see dolphins and amazing birds. The room was nice, clean and plenty of amenities provided. There is a small fridge in the room to use which is great! I was slightly worried it would be far down the beach front but it was okay - maybe a 10 min walk to the main part of Clearwater. It was very hot though between the hotel buildings whilst walking so do always have water with you. We grabbed coffee and muffins for breakfast from the hotel cafe which were expected hotel prices but tasted good. We didnt eat in the restaurant as we like Crabbys from previous visits. We did order a bucket off ice but it took a while to arrive. We didnt really have any interaction with hotel staff although everyone seemed nice We visited the roof pool for a look and we spent a few hours down at the private beach ⛱️ 😎 Overall had a good stay and would return
