I just got back and had an amazing time. The service was top notch. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. Sadly, this hotel could be so much better, but the level of service is not in line with other JW Marriotts. Our trip was mixed with highs and lows, but the lows really put a damper on the whole stay. The Lows: We did mobile check for arrival at 4pm but were delayed and arrived closer to 6. The front desk gave us the runaround about not being able to check us in and made us stand around for 30 minutes while they "had housekeeping double check that our room was freshened up". With no explanation or apology, we finally got our room at 6:30pm. The room had clearly just been rush cleaned as the couch was still wet, the floors were sticky, and we had no bedding for our pullout. After complaining to management (which took multiple calls to get a response) they admitted that our room wasn't ready when we arrived and offered a small credit. We stayed on the 10th floor directly under the restaurant and made peace with the noise at night until they closed- what we were not okay with was the hammering they were doing above us at 7am, waking up our entire family. When we called to ask them to stop whatever they were doing, it took 45 minutes for the noise to finally end. The lobby bar does not open until 5pm and the main restaurant does not have a customer facing bar. Beach service is supposed to start at 11am but the staff were not seen until 11:30 each morning. There is no possible way to get a drink before 11:30am at this hotel- which is quite annoying while on vacation. While there were a handful of fantastic servers, they were understaffed leading to poor service in most cases. Additionally, we ordered room service twice and both times our order was incorrect. Highs: There were some great servers like Andi, Paul and William who were all a pleasure and very helpful! While the beach area is small, we were delighted seeing dolphins and manatees each day! In many cases, they swam right up to us- what an experience! We stayed in a one-room residence, which was comfortable and spacious for our family. Our kids loved the Kids Club and enjoyed renting paddle boards on the beach. This hotel could really be much better, but I do not feel that they should be charging JW prices for the caliber of service we received. There are many other high-end hotels we would rather visit than this one and I do not see our family staying here again. Read less

I recently stayed at JW Marriott and was initially pleased to learn that the hotel is pet-friendly, which was one of the main reasons I chose this property. I was traveling with my small dog and took steps to ensure he would not disturb other guests, including administering a sedative to help keep him calm. However, during the stay, I was woken up twice by hotel staff due to brief barking from my dog. While I understand the importance of maintaining a peaceful environment for all guests, I was surprised and disappointed to receive a fine despite informing staff that I had taken measures to manage the situation responsibly. As a guest who values both comfort and clear communication, I believe this situation could have been handled with more understanding and consistency—especially given the hotel’s pet-friendly policy. I hope future guests with pets will be provided with clearer guidelines and a more supportive approach to avoid similar misunderstandings. Read less

Save your money and go to the Hyatt. Average property beyond it being newer property, with TERRIBLE customer service. Underwhelming experience and interaction's for a JW.
