We came to Sandpearl Resort expecting luxury, tranquility, and a relaxing family finale to our Florida vacation. What we got was the exact opposite — an exhausting, stressful, and outright insulting experience that completely derailed what should have been the most peaceful part of our trip. The construction noise from the room next door — constant sawing, hammering, and cabinetry installation — went on for days, without a single word of warning when we booked or at check-in. The disruption was so loud it woke our child from naps and made it impossible to relax in our own room. This wasn’t just a mild inconvenience — it robbed us of the calm, restorative time we had planned for months. How can a so-called luxury resort charge premium prices while knowingly placing families next to active renovations? Dining at Caretta on the Gulf was equally appalling. The food was burned, the potatoes reeked of torch gas, and our child was served frozen, processed chicken nuggets — a slap in the face to any guest expecting quality. At this price point, we expected handcrafted meals, not cafeteria-grade shortcuts. To make matters worse, a waitress went out of her way to tell us that our trip was “poorly planned” and that we’d be miserable because we were ending in Orlando instead of starting there — as if we were clueless tourists. We waited for a punchline, but it never came. Just judgment and unsolicited travel advice from someone serving our food. This resort doesn’t just fall short of expectations — it completely undermines the promise of rest, hospitality, and class. We left more tired than when we arrived, feeling like we’d been scammed by a brochure and a beachfront view. There are countless places in Florida offering true five-star experiences for this price. Don’t let Sandpearl ruin your vacation the way it did ours. Read less

Service is impeccable from the friendly person who is always opening the front door to the front desk person. The concierge answered all our questions, the bell staff were helpful in getting us the complimentary shuttle service. This is a huge perk that is not advertised anywhere in the hotel. The shuttle will take you the end of the beach and out to Pulblix and the aquarium. Hotel rooms are a bit pricey considering that they also charge a daily $30 resort fee. This price does not include the umbrella over the beach lounge chairs. (Chairs are free). The beach is wide and the sand is super soft and clean. This is the only hotel that has a private beach for hotel guests. The rest of Clearwater beach is public. Pool is always packed; It’s a tad small. All hotels in Clearwater have pools of the same size. Family and kid friendly. Location is great with many restaurants, bars and shops within walking distance. Although rooms are updated, I noticed that there are some nics and dings on some walls and furniture already. Nice size rooms though. I wished that the hotel lobby included a lobby bar. The lobby area could use a facelift to match the guest rooms. Overall, the hotel is nice. We will be back. Read less

Review as a family of 4 with a 6 and 3 year old. We stayed at the Wyndham last year and loved it, so this year we tried the Sandpearl for a more luxury experience. The resort is very clean, and the rooms were great. The valet staff were outstanding, more welcoming than the front desk. We didn’t get the champagne welcome like other guests, which was a little disappointing, but our kids were thrilled to receive beach buckets at check-in. Tate’s Grill was just okay; we preferred the poolside menu at the Wyndham, especially for kids. The kids' club charges a daily fee, which I did not expect. In the afternoon on Saturday, a mermaid comes to the pool and does activities. Our girls loved it. We also loved the separate hot tubs for kids and adults and the beach activity station with free tubes, boogie boards, and toys. Honestly, the best thing. The pool staff worked hard to put our towels on the chairs. Even had a super hard-working man ask us if we wanted our sunglasses cleaned. I wish I had gotten his name, he was super helpful! I found out at the end of the week that the shuttle can take you places. Definitely look into it if you want to go somewhere. You are asked to tip everywhere you go, so just be prepared for that. If we go to Clearwater again, we will most likely be going back to the Wyndham. Read less

There is someone there to open the door for us. There is someone else there to provide us with a welcome glass of champagne. This was our first impression and the rest didn’t disappoint. We loved the location, right on Mandalay Blvd with the hotel situated between the beach and the boulevard. In other words, we didn’t have to cross the street to get to the beach…. And we can easily walk back and forth between the beach and the pool. The service was amazing. Very friendly. Very helpful. The concierge was especially helpful in answering all my questions and making arrangements for me. For the record, all of their recommendations were spot on. The premise had an appearance of looking “new”, or at least newly renovated. The entire resort was very clean and tidy. The room were spacious with comfortable beds and plenty of space in the bathroom. The resort itself is very child friendly. Plenty of activities for the kids to participate in, both in during the day and evening. There is even a “kids club” where you can leave your kids at. There were three places to eat; one more formal, one casual, and a grab and go. All of which were great. Service and food were great as well. Anyways, I can go on. We definitely recommend staying here. Read less
