Worst JW Marriott I have ever stayed at in my life and I am a Marriott Bonvoy Gold so I have stayed at a lot of Marriotts. The check in process was absolutely horrible and even though I am a gold member they gave us a room that is terrible. Don't stay here is you want to have a good stay in Tampa. Stay somewhere else, this hotel is not worth the money. They charge an arm and leg but you get treated better at most Hampton Inn's compared to this JW Marriott. It was just a horrible experience all the way around. They also didn't honor my Marriott Bonvoy Gold status and didn't offer and of the perks that's come with having this status.

We really enjoyed our trip to Tampa, the hotel is really well situated near the free trolley which goes from downtown Tampa to Ybor, also included in the daily destination fee, we utilised the pirate water taxi which was directly across from the hotel, just enquire with the concierge and they with give you a voucher. We took both routes the river and the island, really enjoyed both. With both these free transportations we got around real easy. Beacon rooftop is really nice, however even if you are a resident of the hotel make sure you make a booking in advance for outdoor seating. We got breakfast bits from the Market. Pool area was really nice and clean and quiet. Service we received all round was excellent. Our room was very comfortable, had a water view and the bathroom was really nice and well equipped. Really like the evening turn down service the room was keep well provided with complementary water.

Alejandra was absolutely exceptional throughout my entire stay at the JW Marriott Tampa Water Street. From the moment I arrived, she made me feel welcome and truly went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. Her professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail stood out in every interaction. She anticipated my needs before I even had to ask and handled everything with genuine care and grace. Alejandra is a true asset to the hotel and played a huge part in making my experience unforgettable. I can’t thank her enough!

The visit was horrible.
Jul 9, 2025Conspiracy CDallas, Texas
My experience at this hotel has been very bad so far I got in at 2:30 and was told that I cannot check into the hotel. I have stayed at many lower quality hotels and I've been able to check in at all times at night. This hotel has horrible customer service. one star. This is a horrible JW Marriott

The pillows are the fluffiest of them all! Cody check me in quickly, was a professional and knew seemingly everything about the hotel and surrounding area. Room and service were flawless. Best place in Tampa hands down.
