Review of Rosen Inn at Pointe (Across from the Upside Down House) We stayed here for two weeks, my partner and I in one room, my mother in another, with siblings. When we first arrived, the rooms were a little dated but comfortable, and we didn’t mind that at all. Unfortunately, we had several issues during our stay. My mother had to change rooms early on and was moved right beside mine because flying ants and regular ants had taken over her original room and bed. Her new room seemed fine at first, but eventually, both her room and mine ended up with flying ants. In my case, I had to request a full clean and bed sheet change because there were ants in the bed when we pulled back the covers. The room doors have a large gap at the bottom, which may explain why ants were able to get inside. It’s also possible the AC vents aren’t properly secured from the outside. Cleaning service was inconsistent. My room were cleaned a good few times during the stay but missed a good couple times but my mother’s room was repeatedly missed which made no sense, as she was always out with us during cleaning times. Her room was right before mine in the hallway, yet cleaners would often go into my room and skip hers entirely. The cleaners came around twice a day, but even without the “Do Not Disturb” sign up, they sometimes didn’t go in at all. We often had to hand our rubbish directly to the cleaners or place it in the bins near the elevators. When we saw cleaners, we would ask for fresh towels and take toilet roll and tissues ourselves because they hadn’t been replenished. On some days, bins weren’t emptied, beds weren’t made, and no dusting or surface cleaning was done. We spoke to reception in person and by phoning down about the ant problem several times. Each time, we were told someone would come to clean in the morning but often, no one came. The issue kept returning. One night, cleaners did come to change sheets, hoover, and deal with the ants because I couldn’t move rooms. I had to complain and ring twice before they arrived, but I did appreciate their help that evening. They also told me to put a towel down on the inside of the room to block the door as it might help stop ants coming in. Also the smell of weed was very overpowering in the room as there is numerous people openly smoking it in front of the hotel beside the front doors and in the sit down area by the lite bite shop staff are oblivious to it or ignoring it but my mum was not impressed nor were other parents having to get children to walk by it/them again staff do not care nor do security. With all this going on this is NOT a family friendly hotel when staff can’t stop this. Nor is it safe. We also ate at the Zebra Bar inside the hotel. We had food there twice and drinks occasionally. At first, the food seemed fine, but on one visit I ordered chicken wings. I’m a picky eater, especially with chicken, and I always check it’s cooked through. The first two wings were fine, but the third was pink inside. I returned it and, as my appetite was gone, I just got two drinks instead. Another night, my aunt ordered a beef burger well done. It looked cooked on the outside, but when she bit into it, it was raw inside. When the bun was opened, the juices had turned the bread red. It was sent back and replaced with a properly cooked burger. The staff at the Zebra Bar were excellent, very apologetic, and helpful — but after two incidents, we decided not to eat there again, although we did return for drinks on other nights as the bar staff were great. The location is convenient for theme parks etc but for price paid it is not enough to say when you do not feel comfortable or safe with everything that goes on when staff can’t listen to your concerns our first impression was good, but the ant infestations, door gaps, strange cleaning inconsistencies with my mother’s room, and food, safety & cleaning issues made our stay disappointing overall. Pools are lovely and relatively quiet, there is a 24hr shop which is really handy, and location really central on international drive. Great stay here, would definitely recommend. Very disappointed, that I didn’t get my refund back. To a room that we didn’t stay in. I can’t believe that that they are so hard up on money. I will not use them ever. Not even willing to work something out! This made my stay very stressful. I accidentally booked two rooms for the same day. Didn’t find out till check in. Its was just my husband… Read more

Beds made every day (even though I did it, my hospital corners clearly weren't right 🤣) and the towels changed. Walgreens across the road, perfect for any odds and ends you've forgotten/need! There's also Subway and Dominios, as well as Millers Ale House. A five minute walk away is Icon Park, and restaurants such as Bahama Breeze (LOVE!) and Senor Frogs (AWFUL 🤢) I-ride stop is 18. Room initially looks clean, but it was quite dusty in places, particularly the lamp/back of the bedside table We were in 1227, so facing the I4 - the noise isn't bad, it's not disturbed any of us, although I imagine if you're a super light sleeper you may find the background "hum" annoying. The laundry room is absolute carnage in the evening! I managed to get a wash on, and then into a dryer. (And if the person who removed my wet washing from the dryer should read this, I hope the dryer shrunk your knickers!! 😡🤣) I would recommend getting up super early (I'm talking 5.30/6am and doing it. Wash takes 30min, dryer takes 1 hour). The token system is a joke, especially when 2 of the machines broke amd the reception desk couldn't refund them (I believe it's an outside company who run the machines). I would recommend taking a colour catcher so you can bung everything into one wash! This ain't the place to be separating your lights and darks! 🤣 Buses to Universal? How anyone manages to book these is beyond us! We were passing at 6.50am and my husband noticed the guy sat there so asked I'd he could book in for the following day. The guy got so angry at him for asking before 7am, and the fact we wanted 10seats baffled him, he asked how my husband expected him to sort this when they had 2 other hotels to serve, and the 1st bus was already full so he couldn't book the last few places for us!! I had to walk away 😳😡🤣 I'd like to know how the first bus was already booked when you can't make a booking before 7am?! 🤷🏼‍♀️🤣 We used Lyft the whole time, and would recommend! Checkout - it's 11am. We asked for late checkout as our airport transfer wasn't until 2.30pm (flight is at 6pm). Its $50 per room. We decided we'd split the cost and bung all suitcases in one room so we could have a morning at a park. We were told by reception to come down and request on the day of checkout at 7am, which my brother in law did, only to be told there weren't any late checkouts available today, and we needed to be out by 11. We asked about a luggage store, but were told there wasn't one, so before 3 hours at the airport, we now have 3 hours just sat at the hotel! 🙄😡 (we've since been told by others there is one, located next to reception). Pools were clean, plenty of towels. There is the Lite Bite shop, which is great for snacks etc, although is more expensive, so you may prefer to pop across to Walgreens! There's also a gift shop which has a Starbucks counter - perfect for those early starts! We had the hotel breakfast a couple of days and it's perfectly fine, all up can eat! We didn't go for the evening, but what we saw looked good. Restaurant staff were lovely! It's not the worst hotel I've stayed at, so if you're coming here, don't worry (it's budget, dont expect The Ritz!) Are there better hotels out there? Sure! But as a base to shower/sleep this was fine! Read less
