The hotel

This isn’t just a holiday resort, it’s a world in itself. For starters, there’s the 18-hole golf course and 4 seasonally heated outdoor pools. The Spa at Shingle Creek is perfect for a pamper, and there's fun for all the family with tennis, basketball and sand volleyball games galore. When hunger calls, head to one of the many restaurants and choose from a range of cuisines, or head out onto I-Drive for some classic American diners. Just a short drive from Orlando's best theme parks - the most exciting of which is the brand new Universal Epic Universe that is just across the road! And once the day is done, head to your relaxing room for some down time before another day of adventure ahead.

This was our 10th stay at the hotel. We have had many happy stays here and we love it here but the rooms are outdated and it is looking a bit tired in the hallways. It could do with a freshen up. Our room had some issues. The safe stopped working, the curtain broke and the towel rail fell off the wall all within 48 hours of checking in. Everything was fixed really quickly but it did dull the shine a bit. The staff are amazing, the housekeeping team are very hardworking and super friendly, the grounds are immaculate and the pools are very relaxing (unless there are cheer teams staying - then it’s chaos!). It is tucked out the way and it’s handy to have a car but there’s free transportation to Universal. There is a Publix at the end of the hotel drive. We’ve eaten in some of the restaurants and the food is good. Poolside staff are attentive but not in your face. We love this hotel but are having a break from it as it has lost its sparkle a bit for us. Read less

Everything you can need right on property and incredible, friendly service to go along with it. I’d like to thank a few of many staff members that really stood out - Chielo at the shops (turned just browsing into a genuine and welcoming converstion), Rich at the pool bar (thank you for making a poolside afternoon extra special), Brian at Cala Bella (a true menu expert and friendly face), and Jacob at Headwater Lounge (rocked the crowd, knew his stuff, and was a great help!). The hospitable staff at Shingle Creek is what really set the experience apart and would make us return there for future Orlando trips! Read less

Just returned from a 14 night stay with my husband and 2 daughters aged 18 and 13. We used this hotel as a base for visiting Disney and Universal parks. It was perfectly placed, non of the parks were more than a 20 minute drive away. There is a Publix supermarket within walking distance. The hotel is a mix of tourists and business clientele. It is therefore quiet and elegant, a welcome contrast to the hustle and bustle of the parks. 3 pools, all spotless and plenty of sun loungers. Perfect to relax after 20,000 steps at the parks! The rooms are large, with 2 queen size beds, a mini fridge and air con. Air con was a bit noisy when it kicked in but worked well. Bathroom was fine, although maybe a bit dated, but this hotel has a traditional style anyway but is also very clean and the housekeeping was great. Bar was a little expensive $7-8 dollars for a can of beer $11-12 for a wine, but these are prices we would expect to pay in a hotel and the quality was good. We did buy cokes, waters and beers and kept in our fridge. No issue drinking these at the pool. There are a selection of restaurants in the hotel but we preferred to eat out and about and our girls had a list of TikTok recommended restaurants to try anyway! Would 100% recommend this hotel, it's close to all of the parks and also International Drive for the evenings. Also, no resort fees if booked through BA and free parking. You would need a car here. Great holiday, thank you Rosen Shingle Creek! Read less

We stayed at the Rosen Shingle Creek for two weeks for our 40th Wedding Anniversary through Virgin Holidays we e-mailed them before arrival asking if we could have a King Size Room which they did provide Check In 16th June Was fast and efficient Room 1st Floor room looked clean but did show that there may have had a dog staying in it at sometime as there were what looked like dog hairs Bed comfortable. The room had a adjoining door to an upgraded room next door which meant that on the second night the occupant had there TV on so load it was as though it was in our room on the third night we were woken by a group having a get together at 3.30am drinking on the patio. Then on the 5th Evening from around 5.00pm somebody just up the corridor had left one or two dogs in there room which barked continuously until they returned after 10.00pm we did complain and they provided us with a fruit plateau and a small cake for out disturbance and said they would look to move us which they offered on our 11th night On the 7th night we again had noise issues with a group in the adjoining room playing some kind of game in the room we could hear every part of the board game Recommend that if you stay at the hotel you request room without adjoining room and where dogs have stayed or you may feel you are staying in a Kennel. Restaurant We used the buffet restaurant every day and the. Servers were fantastic friendly and efficient Ron and CiCi were great and food quality was excellent There are numerous other restaurants but some are not open during the week the prices being the normal this type of hotel with also a take away area for sandwiches etc Surroundings The surroundings are beautiful and well kept with th golf course and nice swimming though these can close when event is on Car Park Self Parking It is a bit of a walk although they have a buggy which can pick you up at busy times it takes approx 10 minutes to reception and we did not pay for parking as it was included in our package but it does normally get charged at $30 per night Location The hotel is very close to Epic Universe and there is transport to Universal and Seaworld but this needs to be booked in advance The hotel is a bit out on a limb and you either need to have a car or ride share Taxi to get to other hotels as International Drive is approx 2 miles from Hotel where all the restaurants are based Conclusion The hotel is a convention hotel which priced lower then the likes of Hilton it is in my opinion a short stay hotel due to the the costs mean there are a lot of cheerleader events and volleyball etc and clientele who are there for only 3 to 5 nights or less Read less
