Holiday Inn Resort Kissimmee by the Parks

Being Disney Annual Pass Members, we are always looking for a new hotel to visit, so I've been having my eye on this hotel for a while. We have mixed feelings about it, so hope the Hotel Supervisor reads this and we can give it a 5 star review next time. We checked on Sunday June 1st, Super Excited for our 6 day stay! Unfortunately, things turned SOUR very quickly. While the young ladies at front desk were nice, they lack experience on Quick Problem Solving. The room with a small couch we had booked a few wks ago was not ready. One of the ladies kept sending us to rooms upstairs to see if they had a couch, but after the 2nd attempt of going up and down, walking from here to there, I requested to speak to a Supervisor and she said there was none available. She also mentioned that those were the rooms they had left and were only available to us. So I had to request again a Supervisor, from the House Keeping Dpt. since the girls didn't know what to do, or knew which rooms they were offering me. One mentioned that she believed there were NO rooms with couches, period. To my luck, they called Miss Beatriz, and I really wished I would had been welcomed by her from the beginning, because not only she knew exactly what room I was talking about, she also knew where it was located and she got the room within 10 min. of us talking. She was an Angel sent and turned around things so quickly to give me back the BIG smile that was gone at checking. Because of Miss Beatriz, I will give her all the Stars available for her Outstanding Service, Kindness, Charisma, Understanding and Respect. She is a keeper, Please give her a promotion! :) When we checked into our room, it was (1) hr later than checking time, but the room was very nice, clean, modern and roomy. It was very comfortable. Unfortunately at night, the A/C didn't seem to work. The room was so humid, the sheets and blanket felt wet and cold. Very un-comfy to sleep. On our 2nd night, I called the Supervisor and he quickly sent in someone from Maintenance to check the AC. He solved the issue right away by sharing that the AC was not really on at 75F, it was just a fan. So by putting the AC at 65F the room had a proper AC working, just like at your home. For the next 2 out of the 3 nights we slept much better, because 1 day, the housekeeping lady turned up the ac to 71F, so when we arrived from the park, the room was all wet again. For breakfast time, I was quickly greeted by a very nice lady: Daniela, who helped us most of our stays. She was very kind and always ready to help! Another lady Viviana, helped us towards the end of our stay and she was very helpful and nice too. These 2 very efficient ladies make the breakfast area warm and welcoming. They are also keepers, please give them a promo! The breakfast itself is very assorted, including an array of fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, coffee, oatmeal, bakery treats, teas, etc. Very nice and delicious. Great quality food! Housekeeping did our room the majority of days and did a nice job. The only thing that was a Pretty Frustrating, was to find soooooo many human hairs stuck in the towels. I just kept asking for more and more towels, because out of 5 towels, 4 had nasty hairs all over. So this NEEDS to be improved asap! For Kids... If you have kids like we do, this hotel has a FREE and WONDERFUL play zone(like what McDonnalds used to have). They also have arcade machines and other rides for little kids and hubbies(these you have to pay for, of course). My toddler enjoyed going there lots with my hubby and it was perfect, so I could stay in the room and pack for the day at ease, while listening to relaxing music that the TV Hotel offers. Nice touch! The hotel also has a convenience store, microwaves in the lobby area, a Starbucks and a lovely pool, that unfortunately we did not get to enjoy. They also offer free parking which is wonderful. Please don't take this feature away, because you'll loose us and many other clients. Not sure since when Kissimmee Hotels starting charging parking for a regular parking lot with NO security guard, but this is going to turn old very soon and will affect their business. Overall, while we had some inconveniences, we had a great stay, we felt safe and will like to try this hotel a 2nd time in hopes that all that needs to be improved will be IMPROVED asap. If I could suggest something else, Basic Complimentary Coffee/Tea in the lobby will. be wonderful. Many other hotels we've stayed in offer that, and its really appreciated. Read less

After a long day, we decided to stay in Orlando and to our surprise, we were welcomed by Angelo, who had helped us years ago near the airport. This time, we saw not only the same warm smile but also the incredible growth and professionalism he’s developed over the years. We shared a coffee, caught up, and I just want to say: you have a true servant of God in your team. Value him every single day people like him are rare. Also kudos to francisco The property itself is nice and comfortable, but the food sadly doesn’t meet IHG standards. Poor presentation, dry texture, and it felt like it was served without care. A little more love in the kitchen would go a long way. Read less
