This is our second time staying at the Caribe Royale as a family of four. We weren’t planning on staying here this holiday, but we had an issue with our reservation & needed to switch last minute. We stayed in a family suite with two queen beds and a separate room with a queen sofa bed (I say bed loosely because you may as well sleep on tile). The resort is beautiful, the suite is spacious, and the pool slide is so much fun for the kids. We hate that there’s no breakfast & the parking fees are outrageous, but honestly, those aren’t dealbreakers. Here’s my issue. There’s something about the staff & customer service that’s concerning. On the night we checked in, we went to the restaurant by the pool. This is the second time I felt like a server at the restaurant tried to get a little too close & personal with our daughter. Then after that, I didn’t swim, but stayed close to our lounge chairs/belongings while my husband swam with both kids. They eventually wanted to check out the playground & splash pad, too so we did walk away a bit. We were probably there 45 minutes & the pool was still very busy & full of people. Somehow, all of our belongings were there… but my son’s Stitch crocs were missing. We looked everywhere. Didn’t see any staff. Went back to the room. I came back down by myself and noticed a gentleman picking up trash & pushing chairs around. He saw me looking under everything but never offered to help. I went to the front desk where I saw the young lady who checked us in. I shared that if these were my sandals I wouldn’t care, but my son has autism, he’s particular, and he needs these shoes for our trip. She said she could call “lost & found.” She then said nobody turned them in & gave me a card with a QR code to report a lost item. I said I didn’t lose anything; these were stolen. I told her I wanted to speak to a manager because I didn’t feel like we were safe here. She kind of stared at me with no emotion. I asked about pool security footage. She got on the phone again & now all of a sudden they were located. When I returned to the pool deck, the same gentleman I had seen was standing near a huge bag of people’s belongings. Since the pool is still open & busy, I’m not sure what gives anyone the right to walk around taking things & packing them away? Seems like that would be done after close? Unless you’re trying to take advantage of guests? When I approached him, he opened the bag for me & I 100% could’ve claimed anything that belonged to anyone—he didn’t ask. We did not return to the pool for the next four days despite how much my children enjoyed themselves. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating $39 parking fee for a 4-hour conference

Jun 19, 2025 PatrickC760 Middleburg, Florida

The resort looks really nice. We were there for a 4-hour conference and did not stay the night. It was $39 for parking; Parking was extremely expensive and limited. We found one spot way out back past the pickleball courts. That fee should be criminal.

When checking in they said my room was ready but because it was before the official check in time I would be charged a $75 fee. This created a terrible start to staying at this "4" star resort.
