Ate a few of the restaurants and was not disappointed, my husband especially loved Carmen's spinach and artichoke ravioli at Trattoria del Porto. Upon early check-in we received a free upgrade (still a garden view, but a larger room with a patio). Room was extremely spacious, with a huge bathroom as well. The beds were so soft and comfortable, after just having left a Disney hotel it was a welcome relief. Used the boats to get back and forth to the main parks. My one very minor gripe is that the bus for Epic seemed to be slower than the other hotels and we were often waiting for quite awhile to be picked up. Not that big of a deal when the transportation is free and comfortable though. Check out was practically non-existent, which was great. Verified the room charges and we were ready to go. Gilberto was there to say goodbye (what an insanely charming young man, you guys are lucky to have him) and we left with huge smiles on our faces. Absolutely loved staying here, would go back anytime (probably will!). Express passes included was just the icing on the cake. Read less

Dear readers, I am very excited to share my experience at the Portofino Bay hotel…from the moment we got there the smell of the lobby exudes luxury…. the receptionist who checked us into our room was extremely helpful and kind…honestly everything here was just prefect…. great hospitality, and service…. we stayed in the club level queen room. It was very spacious…The beds were extremely comfortable like little clouds of fluff …I honestly had the best sleep while we were there…the sheets were so soft, it was so easy to just relax. Everything was extremely clean and the bathrooms were very spacious… The boat to the parks are convenient, but we actually ended up walking a couple times to and from the parks it was very easy. It was just a quick 10 minute walk nothing strenuous if you’re able to do it it’s a really nice leisurely walk to the park and you actually get to the front of Universal versus having to walk across from the boat dock. The club was very big we were always able to find a table. The food was delicious. My only teeny tiny complaint is the scrambled eggs. I wish they would give them a little more flavor and use fresh eggs instead of…well I’m not sure what they used actually but it did not taste like fresh eggs lol… The lunch snack is very basic there were veggies and dips fresh chips and snacks. I don’t recommend leaving the park to come eat during that time because you will not be satisfied, but the dinner was delicious. We had roast beef one night and it was amazing. We have stayed at Royal Pacific and now Portofino Bay….I recommend either one honestly they are both extremely nice hotels. You can’t go wrong at either one. Read less

Took four days to get the hotel to send me the bill by email and they had allowed someone to charge a meal to my room for $100 in a restaurant I never visited on a day I was out at a park from early entry until closing - there should be more protection to prevent this from happening - eagerly waiting resolution and a refund Apart from this… Read more

Nice helpful staff who couldn’t do enough for you. Biggest issues are finding somewhere to eat at breakfast and the long walks to the rooms. It is walkable to Universal studios if the boat transport is too busy. The quiet pool was “quiet” if you didn’t want to deal with crowd at the main pool. We would probably stay at RPR next time because it is… Read more

We never ate at the hotel so unable to comment on the food, but did grab coffees and they were expensive as you would expect for an onsite hotel. Only issue we had was that we didn’t have a roll away bed for our daughter when we arrived, had to wait a while for this to be provided but this was no issue. Read less
