Spent 8 days in February. Very clean , great to have Starbucks onsite. Shuttle bus was great as teenagers were safe to come and go to the park when they needed. Not too big or crowded so perfect for us. Always got a space on the bus. Free coffee, use of toaster, butter jam etc Avis onsite - terrible experience, would not recommend

“Too much noise from the other rooms”

We have just returned from a 10 night stay here. Last year we stayed at Dockside but due to the locality or international drive and the ease of access to it we decided to stay at Surfside this year. Tbh there isn't much difference so I wouldn't let that sway your decision. The hotel has a lovely spacious clean feel and check in was friendly and quick. We were in tower 2 on floor 5. This has a view over towards Volcano bay and IOA. We would have liked a higher floor but none were available when we checked in which is probably because we got there around 2pm which is slightly before normal check in time. I didn't really appreciate the view over a load of power / electrical boxes on a roof top but there isn't much you can do about that. The room was clean with a decent tv, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, teas and coffees and cups which were replaced daily. Towels were also replaced daily if needed and you need to take these to Volcano bay with you, and they can be left there. There is also a fridge which was cold enough for my medication and milk. The beds were a bit hard and the pillows were quite big. I do have a spinal condition and asked the next day for a thinner pillow but apparently there are no other choices and I was advised to buy one from Walmart or similar. So if you are fussy with pillows I recommend bringing your own. Although we did have the beds remade, towels replaced and coffee stocked each day. The sheets still hadn't been changed after 6 days so I had to calm down to request this. The room wasn't cleaned during the 10 days at all either. Unfortunately I wouldn't stay at this hotel again due to the noise from the neighbouring rooms. We were woken up nearly every morning by various families talking loudly, showering, going to toilet, doing things in bed! Foot steps above. It was awful and a real let down for the hotel. It was the same with Dockside. Im hoping their other hotels are better but from what ive heard they aren't. I only ate at the quick service food court area once and it was luke warm so id check it before going back to your room. It is smaller than the one at Dockside but it was ok if you needed something outside of the parks. There is also a Starbucks and universal store in the lobby. There is a Walgreens over the road to stock up on snacks, milk etc and places to eat within a 10 min walk. The pool wasn't very interesting and is fish shaped, not a surfboard. It was also quite cold so after one quick dip we didn't use it again and just stuck to Volcano bay. The buses were a let down for this hotel. Two small bus shelters which didn't shade you from the sun and they weren't regular. Two would usually come at once with a line going all the way back by the side of the hotel. One of the bus drivers also closed the door on me as I got in, shutting my arm and bag in it! No apology. He just said that door is Exit only and opened it back up to let my bag drop to the floor. We have taken a picture of the bus and the fact there is no exit only sign on it to pass to their guest services. His behaviour was shocking and I tried not to let it spoil my day. We did take some ubers. To the premium outlets it was $10, Disney springs/AK $24, MCO $39 each way inc a 20% tip. It was an ok stay but due to the room noise and uncomfortable beds I wouldn't consider staying again.

Stayed at Universal Endless Summer Surfside for my 50th Birthday in a suite. Really friendly and good service especially from the night manager who made mine and my wife’s birthdays feel very special. Had a great time at the parks. Epic Universe was our favourite where the experience and themed rides have been taken to the next level.
