The hotel

Situated on a sparkling 25-acre lake near Disney’s Hollywood Studios and just a leisurely stroll from EPCOT, discover the casual elegance of this charming, New England-style Resort hotel. Disney's Beach Club Resort shares a host of amenities with it's more formal sister, Disney's Yacht Club Resort. Most noticeable of these is the mini water park Stormalong Bay, featuring a sand bottom pool, water slides, a lazy river and whirlpools - keeping the little ones happy when you're not at the parks, and giving you time to chill in the sun too. Why not reserve a poolside cabana for extra comfort, or head to Hurricane Hanna's for a frosty beverage! There's loads of other dining options for the family to enjoy too, with a highlight being the character breakfast at Cape May Cafe. At this hotel you're located right next to the marina where, in addition to renting boats to sail around Crescent Lake, you can board a ferryboat for direct transportation to EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s BoardWalk. It's worth looking at the options to upgrade to a club level room for access to the lounge with refreshments available throughout the day.

Went on morning walks daily right before sunrise before heading out to the parks. The relaxed ambiance of this hotel is wonderful and I appreciate the staff for all they do to provide this experience for guests. It goes without saying that the pool here is one of the best at Disney. Food choices at the resort are plenty since Yacht Club is attached. If you’re on the fence about choosing Beach Club, I think you’ll be glad you chose this resort. Read less

I have been to Walt Disney World over thirty times. I love it and always stay at WDW resorts because I believe it makes the entire stay more magical. This trip was planned to celebrate my parents’ 44th anniversary. I have never complained about any hotel here that we have stayed at. YThis has been my worst stay. Upon arrival, the construction level and disruption was unparalleled to anything we have ever experienced. There was no organization to the makeshift front area where valet and bell services had to do their jobs. This was not their fault. They were doing the best with what they had. It was completely unsightly and I wish this was told us before we booked because I never would’ve chosen this resort. An email with a couple weeks warning doesn’t suffice. When we arrived in the lobby, it reminded me more of Penn Station. People lingering with no where to go. Some sitting on the ground with their bags. There was one mother who laid out a blanket in the middle of the lobby and laid her two twin infants down to nap. Granted I know her room probably wasn’t ready, but this seemed inappropriate for the lobby of a deluxe resort. Some accommodation should’ve been offered to her so she didn’t take up an entire area. When we got to our room on the third floor above the pool area, the smell of kitchen grease was overwhelming. As soon as we opened the doors to our balcony, the smell overtook our entire room. They changed our room for us, but it put my parents and me on opposite sides of the hotel. This trip was supposed to bring us together and being so far apart made things difficult. The pool was chaotic. People reserving chairs to never return. Debris and garbage floating in the pool. Long incredible waits for food and drinks. It seemed like the hotel was understaffed. The situation that pushed me over the edge was when a woman at the pool reserved 5 chairs and we asked if my daughter could have one of her chairs to sit and eat her lunch and she rudely declined. When I confronted her on this, she told me I was a bad mother. I do want to mention that Jayden from the Yacht Club staff at the pool restaurant was wonderful. He helped my parents with directions and again was very kind at the pool restaurant. I’m giving the review 2 stars because they did give us a $100 credit for our experience, but I do want to warn others that this resort left us not only underwhelmed, but disappointed. I don’t want other families to make the same mistake in booking this hotel, especially while it’s under construction. It made my parents anniversary trip memorable, but definitely not in a good way. We absolutely loved this hotel, and we even went when Stormalong was closed. Rooms were a good size and clean. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Staff were nice and helpful. Good food options, and it was wonderful getting to walk to Epcot. Highly recommend!

He woke us up and started yelling at us. I asked if smoke or fire had been seen and he said no. I said every major hotel chain in the country tells guests to stand by during a fire alarm until smoke or fire is seen. He said he was told by management to force everyone out of the rooms. So we are running down the stairs without our shoes. We end up waiting about 30 minutes outside in the hot sun. We almost needed medical attention. I am absolutely shocked at the poor decision making of management. Its unthinkable that a major hotel corporation does not know how to handle a fire alarm. It turns out that there was no fire, and no one pulled the alarm, which means it was a maintenance issue. I went to the front desk to ask if they give credit or compensation for our disruption that was caused by their lack of maintenance. The front desk said, "we do not give compensation for maintenance issues." I will most likely be disputing my credit card for this disaster that Disney created. Read less

Overall the hotel is good and I would recommend staying on the club lounge floor, as the buffet there saved us last night when we couldn't get a dinner res anywhere -- but be warned to choose your room carefully because we had noise issues each night.. Our first night we were in a room surrounding the pool and kids were screaming out there until 11PM. We had to move rooms for night two and at 530AM we were woken by what appeared to be a marathon outside our window with people screaming and cheering right until 7AM. Needless to say we spent our Disney weekend extremely tired. Read less
