We stayed as a family of 2 adults and 1 child, for 1 week in July. We came from a universal hotel so it was nice to experience the difference. The room itself had everything we needed. Bed was comfy. Nicely decorated and seemed quite new. The shower had good water pressure and there was plenty of space for storage including all of our food and snacks and the fridge as well. The AC was great and TV had good channels. We had a quick service dining plan which we used for dinner several times at the hotel - particularly enjoying the pizza and pasta options. The dining hall was busy at times but all the staff kept on top of things well and it was never a long wait considering the amount of people. The pool was lovely and had a nice water slide, though it did get busy and finding a lounger at certain times was a struggle - I think they need more umbrellas for shade which was the only draw back. The staff were all really helpful and friendly. Only 1 bus stop which was great (last time we came we stayed at Riverside which had multiple bus stops, so this hotel was my preference it was more compact). A nice boat trip to Springs too which was closer than Riverside. Rooms are Tiana themed (I've not seen the film personally but my family liked it).b We got an Uber to Walmart which wasn't too far to stock up on snacks for the parks or evenings if that's what you need I can't really fault it to be honest so would recommend it and would definitely stay again next time. The only negative was there was a random alarm in our block one day and we had no idea what was going on neither did the staff for a while which was kinda alarming but eventually it all got sorted (some sort of false fire alarm). Final tip is there is a water and ice machine if you keep looking around each block. Oh and how can I forget the Beneuites (unsure if I've spelt that right, Mickey shaped donuts essentially) I don't have a sweet tooth but they were delicious! Read less

We were made very welcome on arrival and shown to our room 2138 which was very close to reception and right at the pool which was excellent as we had our 2 year old Granddaughter with us. The rooms were spotless and very spacious with huge comfortable beds, the dinning room could be a little overcrowded at times and noted on a few occasions 1 girl serving food on her own as 3 others just watched something management should put right. Bus and boat service to parks is still exceptional as is the whole resort layout and gardens with very friendly staff. Thank you for another fantastic stay and to Gerry with a G!!!!! for granting our request regarding location, Anniversary and Birthday celebrations. Read less

I was very happy with the overall experience at the French Quarter. The rooms are freshly renovated and I great condition. The hotel was finishing up the renovation in the last building during our stay so they should be finished by now as well. The rooms were Disney standard but modern and without carpet which is a big plus. There could be more hanging space for clothing but it is what it is I suppose. The property itself is nice and small which I appreciated as the ways are short to and from the bus stops for example. The staff was Disney friendly and helpful especially when we were not as happy with the first choice of rooms that we got (different from what we asked for). They were very professional and fixed the issue. The pool area was great as they have a few sun umbrellas, which not every Disney hotel has. All in all I think we’d come back anytime. Read less

This is a very good hotel given it’s technically a 3 Star rating. The rooms are very nice, clean and well proportioned. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in. Only negatives would be I feel all rooms should have a shoe horn and the toilet paper is probably the worst I have ever experienced. The maids and maintenance staff do a great job keeping everything tidy, my only grumble is the maids come late afternoon which is when I would have a rest before hitting the parks again but they are happy to return later so not a major issue. I would prefer a morning service when you’re out. The hotel staff are all incredible, very helpful and friendly. The dining is good for what’s available and it’s a well known negative by people that this hotel doesn’t have a table service restaurant which we knew so didn’t bother us. The hotel being smaller is a real positive as never had to wait for a bus to the parks and everything runs seamless. We had an amazing time and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to everyone. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Port Orleans French Quarter – A Peaceful Slice of New Orleans in the Heart of Disney Magic

Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter is one of those hidden gems you almost don’t want to tell anyone about… because it’s that special. If you’re looking for a resort that’s peaceful, beautifully themed, and rich in atmosphere, this is it. The moment you arrive, you feel like you’ve stepped into a storybook version of New Orleans. The cobblestone paths, wrought-iron balconies, vibrant Mardi Gras colors, and jazz music floating through the air make this place feel magical. It’s a resort with soul, and it never feels overcrowded or chaotic — just relaxing and welcoming. This is the smallest of Disney’s moderate resorts, which means everything is incredibly walkable. No 15-minute hikes to the lobby or pool — everything is just a few steps away. The layout is compact and charming, with beautiful landscaping and plenty of places to stroll or sit and soak in the ambiance. ⸻ 🛏️ Rooms The rooms were recently refurbished and are clean, comfortable, and nicely themed without being over-the-top. You’ll find queen beds, solid water pressure in the shower, and enough space for a small family or couple. They’re not luxurious like deluxe resorts, but they absolutely meet the mark for a moderate stay — and the peaceful setting more than makes up for any simplicity. ⸻ 🏊 Pool & Amenities The Doubloon Lagoon pool is a standout for families. It features a sea serpent water slide, a splash pad for little ones, and fun Mardi Gras alligator statues that keep the theming alive. There’s also a dry playground right nearby. The pool water can feel a little warm during hot summer days, but it’s still a great spot to unwind. Plus, the resort shares amenities with Port Orleans Riverside, just a short walk or boat ride away, so you can switch things up during your stay. ⸻ 🍽️ Dining Don’t underestimate the Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory food court. It’s got more personality than most quick-service spots, with New Orleans–inspired dishes alongside Disney staples. The pizza here is surprisingly good (especially for theme park pizza), and the highlight of it all? The Mickey-shaped beignets. Light, fluffy, and loaded with powdered sugar, they’re made fresh — and you can even get a boozy version for adults. A must-try! There’s also a pool bar (Mardi Grogs) with drinks and snacks for adults needing a little extra vacation fuel. ⸻ 🚤 Transportation While there’s no monorail or Skyliner here, the boat ride to Disney Springs is a true highlight — peaceful, scenic, and a perfect way to unwind after a long park day. Bus transportation to all four parks is efficient, and thanks to the resort’s size, the bus stop is never too far from your room. ⸻ 🎷 Final Thoughts French Quarter is a resort that marches to the beat of its own drum — literally. The theming is flawless, the vibe is peaceful but playful, and it’s perfect for anyone looking to balance the excitement of the theme parks with some much-needed downtime. Whether you’re walking along the river with coffee in hand, enjoying a splash at the gator-themed pool, or sinking into a fresh beignet, there’s something about this resort that just feels magical in its own unique way. ⸻ 💡Tips for Travelers: • Try the beignets early in the morning for the freshest batch (mobile order available!) • You can use Riverside’s pool and restaurants, too — it’s just a short walk away • The resort is compact, so you don’t need to pay extra for a preferred room • Boat to Disney Springs runs regularly and is much more relaxing than a bus • Elevators aren’t available in all buildings — request first floor if needed • Great choice for couples, small families, or guests who want a quieter stay without sacrificing Disney magic Read less
