We stayed in the over water villa with a full board packed with a carefully plan semi bulter service. An island of tropical paradise, special thanks for the two nice lady, Yumi and Semko who took charge of the kids club looking and play with my son. He had a wonderful time and planned to stay there permanently. Special thanks to Morley whom took care of us, getting us around in his buggy, and even planned a surprised gift for my 3 year old son. Special thanks to Ismail for arranging meals and day to day acitives. Farey from the restaurant team make our culinary experience great, we enjoyed the restaurants in Centara grand lagoon with impeccable services. Not to forget a violin and DJ played planned on several nights. We had the chance to tour in mirage which is linked across a bridge. My wife and I finally got to the Maldives after many years on our bucket list. We wish we had made the effort to get there from Australia sooner. There were many Maldives resorts to choose from; however, our decision to go with Centara Grand Lagoon proved wise. From the moment we stepped off the plane and transited by boat to the resort to the moment we said our sad goodbyes, the level of welcome and service was truly amazing. Our allocated host, Mazko (ably supported by Monette), ensured everything went smoothly and any request was dealt with attentively. We highly recommend the over water villas with pool, extremely private with the opportunity to snorkel in the gorgeous turquoise water straight off the balcony steps. High-quality restaurant options, thank you to Simba and Grace at the Blue Fin, and Thakendra who put together the most mouth-watering teppanyaki at the Gallery. The resort facilities were exceptional, from the spacious pool and beach areas, to modern fitness centre, to perfectly situated (for the spectacular sunsets!!) over water cocktail lounges. A special mention for Hussein and Gift at the Club Lounge who couldn’t do enough to make our stay memorable. Hussein, the Club Lounge Sous Chef, put together some unique Maldivian dishes which we otherwise may not have had the chance to enjoy. From the moment we arrived, everything was pure paradise — the overwater villas were stunning, the ocean views were breathtaking, and the overall atmosphere was incredibly peaceful and luxurious. A special mention goes to Zuhra, who truly made our experience extra special. She was so sweet, attentive, and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. From assisting with activity bookings to making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed, her warm personality and professionalism really stood out. Okay, this is going to be a bit of a read! Bear with me. I had booked a surprise trip for my husband’s birthday to the Maldives and I was a bit anxious as it’s a new resort (they were offering a deal: Stay 4, Pay 3) and we hadn’t visited Maldives before but all my anxiety went out the window once we approached the country and I saw how beautiful it was. I was blown away once we arrived at the resort! For his birthday, they arranged a lovely beach dinner just for us two. It was very romantic - even the stars and moon were stunning that night. Everything was beautiful. We’ll never forget it. We had booked for 4 nights in an overwater villa with a pool (it was NOT cheap but it was incredible). We had access to the Club: the breakfast options here were a la carte and semi-buffet, and yummy! Thank you to the team - Gift & Vico & Hussein. We also had afternoon tea here once and it was cute. The Gallery which is the main dining option was also pretty great. The team here (Hussein, Arujan, Kim, Mitchel, JK, Riley, Shunan) were good and attentive! Sorry I can’t remember the name of the waiter that served us on the beach. We ate lunch and dinner here. At first, it was buffet-style but then for the last 2 days of our stay, it became an a la carte menu (I guess to save costs as there were few guests). The food was good still just cold sometimes. My favourite drink was Spirit of the Sun and the pink soda drink. Whilst staying here, we did some water activities (jet skiing, snorkelling (the fins and masks were free from the Water Sports Centre)). We saw sting rays and black tipped reef sharks and all sorts of fishes. Unfortunately we couldn’t go parasailing because the wind was too much on the day we wanted to try it but my husband loved the jet skiing so he did that again. We visited the spa twice - the ladies here were amazing! We had a complimentary 60 min treatment which we enjoyed so much that we booked for a 90 min treatment as they were doing buy one get one free! We always left feeling relaxed and sleepy. We also visited Sunset Social for drinks and the views here are simply stunning. It’s very picturesque so get dressed and take some lovely pictures. We got there around 5:45pm and watched the sun set until 7:00pm. The mojito was the best I’ve ever had! For our last night, they gave us a comp stay in a sunset beach villa with a pool and it really crystallised the beauty of the resort. The sunset beach villa room is even more beautiful than the overwater villa - the bathroom was very nice also with the bath tub we never got to use. We had an absolute blast celebrating here. Special mention to Mazko at the front desk! He is a gem - he responded to all our requests promptly and ensured we had a fantastic stay. Shukuriyyaa. We hope to be back soon to experience even more at Centara. Read less
