We recently stayed at Ellaidhoo by Cinnamon for one week from June 3 to 10. When booking our stay two months in advance, we specifically requested a room on the beach side of the island. Unfortunately, upon arrival, we were assigned a room on the opposite side—facing the rocky shore, with no beach access—and on the second floor, despite having clearly informed the resort that we would be traveling with a small baby and a stroller. Additionally, we were disappointed to find that much of the island’s perimeter is reinforced with large, anti-erosion black concrete blocks, significantly detracting from the natural beauty of the surroundings. The actual beach area is limited to a small portion—approximately one-fifth—of the island. On a positive note, the buffet restaurant exceeded expectations. It offered a wide variety of dishes to suit different tastes, and the staff at the restaurant were consistently kind, helpful, and attentive. However, our experience with the bar service was less than satisfactory. We felt that the bartenders treated guests differently based on their meal plan, with those on a half-board basis, like ourselves, receiving noticeably less courteous service compared to all-inclusive guests. On more than one occasion, we were told that complimentary tea was reserved exclusively for all-inclusive guests—even for a child—which was neither stated at check-in nor mentioned in any written communication. This seemed particularly inconsistent given that the same tea is freely provided in guest rooms. Regrettably, the overall experience did not meet our expectations, particularly given the standard the Cinnamon brand is known for. We hope management will consider these concerns to improve future guest experiences. Read less

There are also jackfish storms and some other fish that I don't know. Turtles can be seen every day, and the food is delicious and wonderful. It can be different every day from Monday to Sunday. Pro: I went with my 76 Years old father to this Resort as it was his first time at Maldives. Our stay was great. The transfer from the airport via speedboat was seamless and easy to find, and the ride to the resort took about an hour. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed with cold towels, a refreshing drink and each of us received a refillable water bottle. I truly appreciate that this is a plastic-free island where they are genuinely committed to protecting the environment and preserving the local flora and fauna. Top marks for sustainability! They also invited for drinks &Snacks where a biologist gave a presentation about the island and its marine life. We were assigned to beachfront bungalows and it was incredibly thoughtful that they arranged for my father, who does not speak English, to be placed next to my bungalow. A big thank you to Gasim for this wonderful consideration! We had Bungalows 306 and 307. I can highly recommend these beachfront bungalows in the first row: they were spacious, clean, well-maintained, and fully air-conditioned, with fresh water provided daily in the room. The entire staff deserves praise for their exceptional service — from housekeeping and reception to the waitstaff, snorkeling guides, and chefs. Every single person was attentive and welcoming. The manta tour was a highlight — absolutely recommended! The house reef is sensational and well-preserved: we saw clownfish, stingrays, blacktip reef sharks, moray eels, giant clams, parrotfish, and more. Simply breathtaking and alive. The buffet meals were outstanding: top quality and a wide selection of local specialties as well as western dishes. A big thank you to Chef Vipulah for the excellent cuisine and his care about my father ;) A special mention goes to the departure experience: we were upgraded to a seaplane transfer for our journey back, which was an unforgettable experience — especially for my father, who will cherish those memories forever. Thank you for making that possible! Special thanks go to Gasim, Sawaatah, Vipulah, Irufan (our waiter), Niha, Moosa, and Joie. Thank you all for making our stay so memorable! Con: - Water bungalows: We didn‘t stay in the overwater bungalows, but I noticed that they didn‘t have direct access to the sea. -Some guest might also find it bothersome that the island is sourrounded by wave breakers which affect the visual impression. - No coffee machine in the room Read less
