“A Few Days in Paradise at Emerald Resort, Maldives”

We just got back from Emerald Resort and honestly we’re still not over it. Our water villa was incredible super spacious, beautifully done, and waking up to that endless blue view every day felt unreal. We spent so much time just sitting on the terrace, doing absolutely nothing (which was perfect). Even the bathroom deserves a mention huge, modern, and just really well designed. We also tried the spa, and it was exactly what we needed completely relaxing and peaceful. Food wise, we were seriously impressed. We made it a point to try all the restaurants, and not a single one disappointed. Everything felt fresh, well thought out, and just really enjoyable. Asiatique ended up being our favorite we actually went back more than once. Big thanks to Chef Pritam, Chef Vikas, and especially Chef Alok. What stood out wasn’t just the food, but how much they clearly care. It never felt routine Chef Alok came by, chatted with us, suggested dishes, and even adjusted things to what we liked. That kind of attention makes a big difference. The wine and drinks selection was also great lots of options and everything paired really nicely with the meals. The people made it special More than anything, it was the team that made this trip what it was. * Shafi, from the moment we arrived, he just made everything easy. Always there when needed, always one step ahead, but never in an over the top way. It felt natural and genuinely caring, not like “service” at all. * Moosa, from the Dive Center, and honestly just fantastic. Super knowledgeable, calm, and made every experience in the water feel effortless and fun. You can tell he really enjoys what he does, and that energy carries through. * Chris, Bright, Rai, Areej, Meraj, Siri, Mirfan, and many others everyone was just kind, welcoming, and easy to talk to. Nothing ever felt forced or scripted, which made it all feel much more personal. Overall, it’s one of those places where everything just comes together beautiful setting, great food, and people who genuinely care. We’ll definitely be back.

“Emerald exceeded expectations”

We stayed for 17 nights (should have been 7 nights but our flight was cancelled) in March. Like many of you, I researched for some time trying to find the right island. I'm very pleased with my choice. Of high importance was an easily accessibly house reef. There are two areas suggested for snorkelling. One is directly off the beach in front of the main restaurant, the other alongside the water villas. The snorkelling along the water villas was ok, we did see a couple of stingrays, but off the beach it was fantastic. There a many different types of fish very close to shore i.e. within a few meters. A couple of baby black tip reef sharks would come in close to shore most days. Whilst the visibility close to shore is not perfect due to the sandy bottom, I was very happy. Snorkels and fins are free to use throughout your stay. Rooms were excellent. we stayed in the marina bay beach pool villas and a couple of nights in a water villa (the hotel kindly let us try this out). Whilst the water villa view is glorious, we preferred being on the beach with our own plunge pool which was lovely in the evening. The bathrooms are huge! There are two outdoor showers, one near the pool and the other off the bathroom. The minibar is stocked daily and has wine, beer, soft drinks, etc. If you prefer a different wine or beer you can ask your villa host if that is possible. In our case it was, so we were happy. Huge thanks to Rishwan who looked after our room for most of our stay, who was professional and friendly, and Faysal also for a few nights. You get bikes to use during your stay which is a great way to get around. You can also call for a buggy if you wish. My only 4/5 was the air-conditioning. I like it very cold and whilst it was cool enough, I prefer it a few degrees cooler and we couldn't seem to get it that low. Food: The restaurants were very good. Asian, South American, Buffet and a Beach Grill. The Asian was our favourite. Each had a sommelier to help you chose your wine. Special thanks to Chris and Rai who picked some very good wine during our stay. They were very friendly and knowledgeable. You book these restaurants via your app. I recommend downloading this a week before you go to ensure you get to enjoy all of them. If you can't get in, sometimes you are able to try your luck and walk in. This worked for us on a couple of occasions. Thursday night is 'Gala night' where everyone eats on the beachfront with live cooking stations and live music. The food is delicious and there is live music. Breakfast is a huge buffet which we enjoyed. Special thanks to Vikram Magar who made our eggs/French toast etc most mornings. Facilities were very good. The swimming pool was lovely and there were plenty of sun loungers. You can see from the website there is a tennis court (you can get lessons), a couple of padel courts, a good gym, ping pong and a pool table. They have some activities for free also which can include Yoga and an intro to Padel. We were fortunate to see loads of dolphins on the complimentary cruise and also enjoyed the fishing trip. Bars: There are two bars with a good selection of drinks including cocktails. Special thanks to Pawan and Chethan who looked after us. Both were very friendly and professional. They have live music most evenings. It started a bit late for us but it was nice for a drink after dinner. Atmosphere: For a medium/large resort you often felt like you had the whole island to yourself. People would be spread around the island in their rooms, the beach or the pools. It was relaxing and quiet, but also had enough people and entertainment that it wasn't too quiet. Villa host: what a great idea! You had one point of contact during your stay who was there to help with information, answer questions, help with dinner reservations, arrange for different pillows to be in our rooms in my case etc. Nothing was too much to ask. Sid you were amazing. Thank you!! The resort was spotless, All the staff were professional, polite, friendly and went over and above. Reception were there to help when required and were very considerate when we got stuck there for the extra 10 days. Yes this resort is on the more expensive side, but the all inclusive package is worth it. Would I return - absolutely!

“A return to Paradise”

We returned for our second year in a row on the 10/3 for 7 nights. This year we flew direct from Heathrow and from start to finish another unbelievable holiday. It was so lovely that many of the staff remembered us from last year. A few to name with outstanding service Miraa - Served us lunch in the beach club grill , excellent service and very friendly Chris - His knowledge of wine was second to none. We had a beautiful 5 course dinner paired with wine. Chris’s expertise really shown this night. Ahmed - cocktail bar. cosmopolitan by far the best I have ever had!! Simh - Always very welcoming and full of chat. Great member of the team and has such potential Giri - Great worker very friendly, always so happy and a very positive person. Went out of his way and even got the chef to make my wife her deep fried calamari every day for lunch! Areeji - always welcoming us into lunch very friendly Nitin - A lovely member of staff with a great personality. Always very welcoming and couldn’t do enough On our last night my wife’s feet very swollen. Suggested some ice and got it delivered to our room in an ice bucket. At breakfast the following morning the first thing he asked how was my wife’s feet. Rai - Served us at the beach and grill at lunch went out of his way to ensure we had the best wine David - excellent knowledge on wine Sid - Where do I start. Our vila host 2 years in a row. Once we booked again for the second year we contacted Sid to let him know. He went over and beyond for us!! Arranging an upgrade so we were able to experience both a water villa and also a beach villa with pool Spa credit which we used for massages which were incredible! A beautiful 5 course meal paired with Sommelier recommended wines This meal was outstanding!! Sid was constantly checking with us that everything was ok. Nothing was ever a problem. Full of smiles, a great personality, a credit to Emerald resort Alok Verma (executive Chef ) - started within the last year. Although the food was very good last year we can honestly say this year it was outstanding!! The quality and variety of food was excellent. At breakfast in Aqua restaurant every morning something different. The French toast was amazing. And the pastries top quality!! Alok was always around and asking was everything ok. He has definetly brought a new level of cuisine to the resort. The hospitality in Emerald resort is second to none. The level of service is 5 star. Total paradise.
