Le Meridien trip We have just returned from our second trip at Le Meridien and have had an amazing time. The island is simply stunning and the whole team cannot do enough to make your trip wonderful. We were travelling with our Baby who had allergies and even before we arrived the communication and assurance from the team regarding his allergies was brilliant. Once we arrived the chef personally introduced himself and made sure that my son and I ate well despite the allergies. The food and restaurants are amazing and every meal was 10/10. We stayed on an AI basis and the choice is very good and all food is fresh. My elder Son loved the Kids Club and regularly asked to go. Sandy and Reesha were so friendly and put on a wide range of fun activities for the kids. He loved mocktail making and the camping activity as well as bracelet making. The club itself has a good selection of toys and plenty of space for kids to burn off their energy. We stayed in a two bed beach villa with a private pool which was just perfect for the four of us. We loved having a private pool and a short walk way to our private stretch of the ocean. Last time we stayed we had a water villa which I personally prefer as I think being on the ocean is magic however we chose a beach villa cat this time due to travelling with a crawling baby. All of the restaurant teams were amazing and went out of their way to make the children and us feel special! I can’t name everyone but at each restaurant everyone greeted us by name, knew our requests and allergies and just generally were very lovely and ensured each meal was special. During our stay we took the sunset dolphin cruise which was great and we were lucky to spot many dolphins and have them swim alongside the boat. It all feels like a dream and we are very much hoping we can come back for a third visit in a couple of years. To all at Le Meridien at Maldives thank you so much for an amazing trip and see you soon! Read less

Hospitality: During our stay at Le Meridien Maldives, the service staff truly went above and beyond, making our experience unforgettable. Abby, Mauche, Leeko, Faith at Rivieras and Chef Nikki deserve special recognition for their exceptional care and hospitality. Chef Nikki made us specialty Filipino lunches that were not only delicious but also deeply comforting—it felt like being back home, thousands of miles away. The thoughtful and authentic flavors brought such warmth to our trip, and we are so grateful for that special touch. Abby, Leeko and Mauche from breakfast at Turquoise were incredibly attentive, ensuring every detail of our stay was perfect. The dive shop, Vanz and the team also impressed us by going the extra mile, even fixing our sunscreen when the bottle broke and to the house keeping who promptly brought us calamine lotion when we needed it. These small but thoughtful gestures made us feel incredibly cared for. Their kindness and willingness to help with the smallest things made us feel so valued. Food: We opted for the full board option, 3 courses. The food was incredible with big servings! I suggest ordering half servings to eliminate wasting food. The breakfast buffet was 5 stars, so many options and we were left full and happy every morning. We still reminisce about the breakfast buffet and the staffs greetings every morning. Buggy’s: the buggy’s and the whats app service was impeccable, they were on time and if not quite early. Medical: The only down part of our stay was the sand flies and the lack of urgency with our medical needs due to the bites and cut on my foot. We visited the island with a couple of friends who worked for the chain hotel and we couldn’t voice our opinion due to potential backlash. Basically our bungalow had shards of broken glass that was left by housekeeping and I stepped on it. To put it lightly we were snubbed and not taken care of efficiently. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so memorable. Le Meridien Maldives is lucky to have such an incredible staff! Service was impeccable and we will always remember how amazing we were treated. Read less

My stay was an amazing experience; from the moment we stepped off the seaplane, receiving the warm welcome to our beautiful gift in our room to the warm and friendly staff and the amazing food each day. This truly was an unforgettable holiday for me and my family. I’d like to say a big thank you to Anetra for our tour on the first day, to Reesha and Torsa for taking care of my two boys, to our local Island tour guide who showed us his Island and his home, to our massage therapists at the spa and to Chef Pradeep (Velaa restaurant was fantastic!) and Chef Muthuraman for the delicious food and their willingness to cater for my baby. I wish I could name all the staff as everyone was so helpful and welcoming each day. You’ve really created something special with the staff on the resort, the high quality and tasty food and the premium facilities. Read less

We spent 6 incredible nights at Le Méridien Maldives, 4 nights at the lagoon villa and 2 nights in the overwater sunrise villa. What had made it truly different was the warmth and hospitality of the following staff. 1) Executive Sous Chef Muthu - His personal attention to our dietary needs made it special. Thank you for taking the time to chat and ensure we enjoyed the best of Maldivian and international flavors. 2) out of the 6 different F &B outlets they have on their island - Vela F&B - Symon and Hafiz -Rivera F& B - Ari & Rishab - Turquoise F&B - Supun, Maush, Abby Their attentive and friendly service elevated our experience. We appreciate your anticipation of our needs and cheerful conversations-thank you for making us feel at home! - **Sandy (Kids Club):** Thank you for keeping our LO so engaged and happy. - **Caesar & Captain (Dive Centre):** Thank you for the extraordinary experience M Le Méridien Maldives is stunning - with beautiful overwater and beach villas, fabulous dining, pristine pools, and a serene, lush island environment. Amenities made us feel pampered, the shower gel provided gave a hint of coconut, which is perfect for island resort feel. The resort offers plenty of activities for all ages, from shark snorkelling to kids' clubs and sunset cruises. **Cons** If we had to mention 2 downside, it would be the presence of seaweed in the ocean during our stay. While we understand this is a natural occurrence and not the resort's fault, it did affect the swimming experience some days. 2nd was the 2 way cowboy door design that separated the luggage storage and the mainroom - that was pretty annoying. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so special. We've left with beautiful memories and are already planning our return. To anyone considering Le Méridien Maldives: you're in excellent hands-just ask for the staff by name! Read less

The start was a bit bumpy: a five-hour wait for the seaplane in the hotel's otherwise pleasant lounge. While waiting, I noticed something peculiar: in the middle of July, most of the music playing was Christmas music. This gave me my first concern that this hotel did not pay attention to details or has a somewhat laissez-faire approach to certain things. This continued throughout the week... The next surprise came at check-in: even though we had booked a large water villa with a pool and two bedrooms for over USD 10,000 (room only) we still had to pay USD 10 per bike per day. That's petty, especially when you consider that it takes a good 20 minutes to walk from the large water villas to the restaurant each way. But there weren't enough bikes anyway; we only got two at first, and then two more a day later. On the good side: the buggy service was good. Then came the next strange surprise: the specialty restaurants were already fully booked for days, so we had to go to the main restaurant, Turquoise, for the first few evenings. And this is where the hotel's biggest problem begins: the evening buffet was really not good. The worst buffet in many, many years. Even on cheap mass cruise ships, the buffet is better. The icing on the cake: even if you went to dinner right at the beginning of the buffet, certain dishes, such as salads, were already soggy. Someone should explain them the problem of osmosis and green salads. But eventually, we managed to get into the specialty restaurants. We wanted to check out the menus in advance via QR code in our room, but it didn't work (at least not on iOS devices). Just one of many further examples for the small glitches in this hotel. At least the food in the specialty restaurants is good, especially the Japanese one is excellent. Then, at the end of our week, again we had to wait almost five hours in the lobby for the seaplane! We've been vacationing in the Maldives every year for over 20 years now, sometimes even twice a year. We've had lots of transfers by seaplane, but it's never been as bad as it was here! The positive aspects of the hotel are the friendly people and the truly excellent dive center. The dive base saved our holiday in the end. Conclusion: You can have a nice vacation here as long as you can overlook the poor food at the dinner buffet and the many small glitches. Read less
