Meeru Maldives Resort Island (4*) - was good for a relaxing holiday in December 2025 (there were disadvantages: the bed was not changed and the garbage was not taken out for several days until you call the reception. The water was also rarely updated, we also had to call the reception).
And 2 days before leaving, $4,400 was stolen from us (passports, laptop, phones, Russian rubles - they didn't take). We went to dinner, the safe was 100% closed (the door opens by itself, if suddenly the safe does not close). They came in 2 hours, there is no money, the safe was closed (I opened it later with my own code). They took ALL the bills for $100, and they didn't take the small ones for $1.5,10,20,50.
The hotel management said that it was impossible to steal from the safe, but categorically refused to give a report (log file) on the safe for our period (time, date, opening, closing, code entry errors, whether the safe remained "open", and other records of actions).
The safe can be opened with a master key!
The police were called, who also could not get a log file for us on the safe, the hotel told the police that the Internet is not working now. The police calmly took note of such a refusal and did not insist much. The two remaining days of rest were badly ruined. There are no cash dollars left for the bars. The planned trip to the SPA had to be canceled.
The hotel was clearly aware (by the log file from the safe) who stole and tried to hide, referring to an internal investigation. They accused us of informing the hotel about the amount brought or putting it in the safe at the reception. They also said that the amount was not confirmed by us in any way.
We left without getting any information from the hotel or the local police about the results of the investigation, no log file, no compensation, no apologies ... nothing.
At the same time, everyone smiles sweetly, and says, we hope you enjoyed the rest and are waiting for you again... they're just mocking!!!
