Our 10 days in the Meeru exceeded every expectation we had. The beauty of the island is almost impossible to put into words, but what truly made our stay unforgettable were the people.
The most important feeling we are taking home with us is this: we did not feel like guests staying at a resort – we felt at home. The kindness, attentiveness and genuine care of the staff gave us the sense of peace and comfort that one can only wish for when going on holiday. Thanks to all of you, our 10 days were truly carefree, relaxing and of the highest quality.
But what made our experience even more special was that we had so many wonderful, meaningful conversations with the people we met during our stay. We laughed together, shared stories and got to know each other beyond the usual guest-and-staff relationship. We genuinely feel that we have met some truly wonderful people here, and that is something we will take home with us and remember just as fondly as the beauty of the island itself.
We would especially like to mention a few of the wonderful people who made our stay so personal and memorable.
Faazil from the housekeeping team is one of the kindest and most creative people we have ever met. Every day, I found myself excitedly wondering what beautiful towel creation he would surprise us with. I never took them apart – by the end of our stay, we had a little collection of them in our room. 😊
On the day of our vow renewal, Faazil created an especially beautiful decoration for our room. When we saw the breathtaking creation waiting for us on the bed, we seriously considered sleeping on the sofa that night because we simply couldn't bring ourselves to take it apart. It was far too beautiful!
Faazil is definitely one of the people who will bring us back to this resort.
At Farivahlu, Pavithran, the Jr. Sous Chef, greeted us every time with the biggest smile and a few kind words. And then there was Gasim, who seemed to know exactly what we wanted before we even reached our table. The moment he saw us entering, he would call out from across the restaurant, “The usual? I’ll bring it!” – and he always brought us exactly what we wanted. These little moments of recognition and care made our everyday experience feel so incredibly personal.
The Pavilion Bar became one of our favourite places. We spent several hours there every day, enjoying delicious cocktails while looking out over the ocean. Puspa and Manoj always seemed to notice when we were arriving, and by the time we sat down, our favourite drinks were already on their way. It felt as though we were no longer guests, but old friends coming back to their favourite place.
At Vilu/A-Mare, Della showed us extraordinary kindness and attentiveness from the very first moment. On the evening of our vow renewal, it meant so much to us that the team prepared a beautifully decorated, romantic table especially for us. It made an already incredibly special evening even more memorable.
Our vow renewal was organised by Nicha, and during what was naturally an exciting and emotional time for us, her professionalism, kindness and calm approach were an enormous source of reassurance. Knowing that everything was in such capable hands allowed us to simply enjoy the moment.
At the Duniye Spa, Tara created a beautiful hairstyle and makeup look for me for our special day. She helped me feel truly beautiful and confident on an occasion that meant so much to us.
And last, but certainly not least, Shazra captured the most beautiful photographs we could possibly have wished for on the day of our vow renewal. She gave us something incredibly precious: the ability to keep these beautiful moments with us for the rest of our lives.
Each of you contributed something different to our stay, but together you made these 10 days so much more than a wonderful holiday. You turned it into a memory – one that we will look back on with a smile for many years to come.
Thank you to every single person who made our stay so special through your kindness, your attention to detail, your professionalism and all the countless little gestures that made us feel genuinely cared for.
We did not simply leave a beautiful island behind. We left a place that, in just 10 days, had come to feel like home – and we left knowing that we had met some truly wonderful people along the way.
We will definitely be back. And when we return, we truly hope to see many of you again. ❤️
