Stayed in May 2025. On arrival our first impression was marred by all the boats in the marina. Not very pretty. (We've stayed at Kuramathi before and that was a wow factor from the minute we arrived.) this wasn't. Seeing rusty workboats filled with rubbish wasn't what I wanted to see on arrival and walking down the jetty to shore. We had to wait 3 hrs for our room, after a 11.5 hr flight, but luckily we'd packed swimwear in hand luggage and we were able to change and explore island. I recommend doing this. We went straight to the Dhoni bar, staff were friendly and we ordered a pizza and drinks. Lovely. When we got our room, (623) a Jacuzzi beach villa. There was a walkway up to room and this was enclosed in foliage, and although this made things private, we had been led to believe that we'd be able to see the sea from inside the villa, but this isn't the case. The rooms are spacious and bright, ample storage, clean. Outside bathroom/toilet. There is a jacuzzi, we didn't use this because of the mosquitos, and annoyingly the jacuzzi keeps turning on all day and night, so you can hear rumbling constantly. Bed linen should be changed every 3 days, but ours was only changed once in the ll days we were there. Towels changed everyday. Our room meant that our buffet restaurant for breakfast/ evening meal was the Malaan. There was a lot of choice, but personally I don't like buffets as it means that you can overeat, or you choose food that don't go together because "it's there" I like to be sitting at a table with my husband, talking to him, while being served; not having to eat on my own whilst hubby is waitina for steak to be cooked in a queue and finishing when he turns up with his food. That's why we went to Vila (Mediterranean). And A-Mare (Italian) and The Reef (seafood) the staff were lovely at all of them. We particularly liked Vilu and A-Mare, and the staff, particularly Sandy and Ni Luh were lovely. It was sad to see that we would have to pay extra to attend a beach BBQ or the Teppanyaki Show, even if on Al. (They charged $165 each!!) There were two pool areas we used the Adults only one which has an infinity pool looking straight out onto the sea, breathtaking. The first few days the water temperature was like a bath, it wasn't pleasant, but after that, it was cooler and was perfect. I was disappointed that there wasn’t a proper ice cream parlour, as on another Island l've visited. There is a small area where you can get icecream in a cup, not cone. It's soft so you have to eat quickly. There are no crepes or waffles. The smoothies, you need to pay extra for even if you're on Al. When you get a coffee, there aren't any cakes/biscuits. It's a bit sad. They could have had a nice bakery on site . They could do so much better. Everyday we walked around the island which is beautiful. We snorkelled, played pitch and putt, used the driving range, did a trial windsurfing lesson. We walked to the end of the jetty of the over water villas near the adult only pool and we'd see so many fish. There's a decking area at the bottom and you can see lots of fish and look out on to the sea. We saw Rays , sharks and even a turtle 😁 there’s no shade so wear a cover up and hat it gets incredibly hot. One evening there was a storm and the next day whilst out walking we saw the sea had brought in lots of rubbish. Toothbrushes, fruit, bottles, rope even a vegetable peeler!? we were walking out at 2pm in the afternoon so it was sad to see that the staff hadn't been out earlier to clear this up. There was so much rubbish. We appreciate that this was caused by the storm, but we had to go and mention to the Reception as they hadn't done anything about it and we wanted to make them aware. (it was cleared up eventually) The Island is constructing more staff quarters, so there is a lot of work going on. They try to minimise disruption, but you can see/ hear the work, there are vehicles going back and forth. If you want to use the buggy's you can call reception and ask them to send one to your room and they can take you anywhere on the island. Or you can hail any down if they are passing. What we did see about this island, is how well the staff are treated. They have their own gym, swimming pool, they can use the golf areas, they use the full size volleyball and football pitches. Whilst we were there they laid on an inter department volleyball tournament, which we watched over the week. It was so lovely to see.the staff are happy and allowed to use good facilities in their spare time. They also encourage visitors to interact with them and play football matches, providing full kits! This resort is very popular with Russians. The island is very pretty, the staff are lovely and work hard. I think because l've been to Kuramathi, I was spoilt, and therefore there are a lot of things that I think Meeru can improve on. On saying that, we did enjoy our time on Meeru and recharged and relaxed, we met some lovely people and were treated well. It was a lovely holiday and it’s a nice Island to visit. Read less

Amazing very clean resort. 24hr reception who you can phone and will sort pretty much anything you ask. Plenty of bottled drinking water that is replenished by room service each day. Excellent food. Staff are genuinely very helpful and kind. Snorkelling is exceptional and every morning there is a free boat trip to their nearest reef to snorkel. You can pay to go to more exciting locations and see some proper sea life but if you just want to see tropical fish this is pretty good (and completely free). There’s a dive centre as well and to properly see the sea life scuba is definitely the way - even if it’s more expensive. Can also do the PADI qualification here but contact them in advance if you’re interested in this. If you don’t hold a scuba qualification and don’t want to get one they offer beginner dives - but they will make you do a diver in the AM first just in the lagoon to around 4m. So long as you manage this ok and aren’t struggling too much they will let you come on the boat in the afternoon to dive deeper to 12m - which will be a far more interesting dive and you should see some proper sea life. It’s probably the most expensive holiday I’ve ever been on - but tbh it is worth the money. Would 100% recommend the scuba diving here though - try to keep that as part of your budget if you can. I was very impressed with Meeru Maldives and for context I have been to Kuredu island in the Maldives and have been to all sorts of places like Bora Bora Intercontinental Thalasso Spa, multiple sandals resorts in the Caribbean but also places like Aiya Napa, Greek islands and Italy. I’d like to first mention how wonderful the staff are here, they’re all so friendly and welcoming. I’d like to make a special mention to 3 staff in particular: Ali at the adults only buffet restaurant, he would ask me what I was doing today and then check how it went the next morning, remembering what I had told him, not only did he have a great personality but he also was a great chef! He makes the best pasta there and I was gutted on my last lunch that he wasn’t there to make me one final one. Itaffh was also a very attentive waiter, as you get assigned one for the week, he was prompt and I’m not much of a talker when there’s food on my plate but I could always see him chatting to other guests about trips they were going on. Lastly, Asri, he welcomed me every breakfast, lunch and dinner with a big smile and asked me how I was. They all go out their way to make you feel happy there. The food was very good with a wide variety of different meats every night, I think they always had one of all the meats and then two fish dishes, so plenty to choose from, the buffet changed each night with a different theme so you never got bored. I upgraded from full board to all inclusive plus(AIP) for The last three nights to get the A La Carte restaurants for free and also the kayaking, paddle tennis and golf. The Wok, Vilu and A Mare (Italian) restaurants were all delicious, sometimes you go to hotels and the A La Carte food is just put out as leftovers on the buffet but this isn’t the case here, it was very nice and there was plenty to choose from. Regarding drinks on the (AIP) there is a lot of cocktails you could choose from with no extra cost along with 2-3 wines of each colour, so there was certainly enough for 7 days. On our day of arrival we were given an upgrade for a night from the waterfront jacuzzi villa to the waterfront pool villa which was newly built and incredible, it had a walk in style wardrobe with a massive indoor/outdoor bathroom with a bath outside. The bed was huge and very comfortable. I never really thought I’d use a small pool when there’s such a great beach/sea right in front but it was a pleasant surprise and we didn’t want to leave that room, the pool was clean and relaxing, it also comes with a great view. Our waterfront jacuzzi villa was right on the beach and was on the best side of the island as there is a reef barrier about 100 meters out, which meant the sea was always calm and extremely warm! It never got above chest height in most places and you see loads of fish. Comparing it to Kuredu which is also an island owned by the same company, it had a nicer sea and more restaurant to choose from, with a bigger resort. However Kuredu was very nice too. I got to play football on their full size astro pitch as guests vs staff and it was great fun, they also get everyone to wear a kit, which was a really nice touch, I wish I could of taken mine home! The small golf course was good fun and I don’t think golf is appealing at all. Everything was really easy to book thru the app but reception were very attentive, if needed. They seem to treat their staff exceptionally well, with housing on the island and their own facilities, like a pool, gym, volley ball court and I think it shows with how happy they are with the guests too. There was a slight issue with one of the exterior panelling on our beach villa which I was not worried about and we didn’t even mention it but within the second day of being there they had sent out two maintenance men to fix it, which I was impressed with. I would and hopefully will go back in the future! Thanks you so much Meeru! Read less

Our holiday with children in Maldives. When our favourite tour operator Baby Travel Club (personal manager Eugenia) offered us to exchange our trip to Maldives for 7 nights with two adults (breakfast-dinner) for the same trip for the same period, but with children, and including lunch, we were very happy)). Meeru Island is located in the northern part of the Maldives. It took us about 50 minutes to get there by boat. A large and picturesque island with plenty of greenery and no stone (concrete) paths was the first thing that impressed us. Meeru is a large island like Saii Lagoon, however as comfortable and sandy as Velassaru. The wide sandy beaches made it feel like a no-frills destination, and the private ocean access guaranteed maximum relaxation and comfort. However, there were drawbacks as well: - The small number of shared sunbeds on the beach created an atmosphere of competition for them)))) - Complete lack of umbrellas and any canopies that would protect from the sun - Lack of personal slippers in the room both for internal use (white slippers as in hotels) and for external use (slippers for walking around the island were brought only upon request). - Lack of more or less substantial mini-bar (water and soda). No alcohol, no chocolates, etc. - (!!!!) REALLY HIGH PRICES for room service. To order food from room service, you would have to pay an additional $150 for room service food delivery. Sorry, but it's almost 1500₽ to have it brought to you Read less
