From Velana International Airport (MLE) guests are met by an airport resident host and transferred to the seaplane terminal by shuttle before a scenic, approximately 35-minute seaplane flight to the resort, with views across the Maldivian atolls.

Once on the island, everything, from dining and pools to activities and beach access, is easily walkable. Boats and watercraft are used for excursions such as snorkelling, diving and sunset cruises*.

Reethi Faru Resort features a rich selection of seven dining venues and multiple bars set against stunning Indian Ocean views. The Vakaru Restaurant is the main sea-front dining destination offering buffet breakfasts, lunches and themed dinner buffets with international and local dishes throughout the day. Dhiyavaru Restaurant sits on stilts over the lagoon and operates 24 hours, serving fresh snacks, salads, pizzas, all-day breakfast, signature dishes and a kid’s menu with uninterrupted ocean vistas. Reethi Grill invites guests to enjoy grilled seafood, meats, tandoori specialities and wood-fired pizzas in private beachside cabanas or under the open sky, with reservations recommended for dinner. Huvandhu Garden offers a more intimate and romantic setting on the beach with a selection of multi-course set menus. Veggie n Vegan caters to vegetarian and vegan diners with inventive plant-based dishes. Raalhu Café sits by the infinity pool serving light fare, snacks and casual meals with lagoon views, while beachfront bars and lounges — such as Haruge Bar, Nala Bar, Veyo Bar, Thari Bar and Sunset Bar — provide refreshing cocktails, tropical drinks and relaxed social atmospheres throughout the day and into the evening.

“Lovely resort”

This is still a “soft opening” phase for the 5 star resort, with the official launch scheduled in a couple of months. Overall, the service was very good and consistently courteous. That said, there were some inconsistencies at the restaurants. On several occasions, items we ordered from the bar or buffet were mistakenly delivered to the neighboring table. The food at the main restaurant was acceptable, though not particularly memorable. The menu leaned heavily toward Indian and Asian cuisine. Unfortunately, the seafood did not seem very fresh and was often overcooked. A few other guests and I experienced mild stomach discomfort during our stay. We also dined à la carte at the Alif Asian restaurant, which was similarly underwhelming. However, service across all restaurants was warm, attentive, and pleasant throughout. We stayed in a water pool ocean villa, which offers direct access to the ocean from the deck. The current can be quite strong, so it is important not to swim alone. We found it somewhat challenging to climb back up the ladder, so having someone nearby is advisable in case assistance is needed. The spa was excellent and one of the highlights of the stay. Be sure to book treatments in advance to secure your preferred time.

I really enjoyed this trip. Thank you to my butler, Kate. Although she doesn’t speak Chinese, she was very warm and helpful. She came and greet us every day .We communicated perfectly on WeChat. She accompanied me throughout—from airport pickup to check-out—and attended to all my needs promptly. Overall, the resort offers great value for money. I’ve experienced both 2 nights in a beach villa and 2 nights in an overwater villa.
