The hotel

Niyama’s twin islands offer up the luxury of choice, from chic serenity on the isle of Chill to the adrenaline and excitement on the isle of Play — or a combination of both as your mood dictates! The resort serves up one of the best dining scenes in the Maldives with no less than seven restaurants, including four unique options: Nest is a one-of-a-kind dining concept in the Maldives featuring four cuisines of Asia, including Teppanyaki, Thai, Chinese and Indonesian; Tribal offers a uniquely authentic cultural experience of African, Central and South American tribal cuisines; Edge provides exclusive overwater dining, accessible by boat, featuring delicate Indian Ocean flavours and fresh local seafood; and, below Edge, Subsix Underwater Playground is hidden out in the ocean and six metres below the waterline. There are also two all-day dining restaurants, two bars, a coffee shop and personalised destination dining options, both on and off shore. If you have little ones, the Explorers Children’s Club pioneers excitement to new levels, with activities for different age groups and interests. An outdoor fun area has a playground, trampoline, splash park and stage, whilst Munch, the mini gourmet kitchen, offers cooking classes and food and drinks for their different tastes. Throughout the resort, family-spirited accommodation, dining and experiences abound — sophistication meets exploration, with extra special attention lavished on VIPs both large and small. Take time to soak up the raw beauty of the unspoilt beaches and blue lagoon, revel in spectacular Ocean views from your luxurious studio, suite or pavilion, explore the islands by bike, and treat yourself to a recharge at LIME Spa, featuring eight iconic treatment rooms and world-renowned products, including Gentlemen’s Tonic and Intraceuticals. You won’t want to leave!

We had a private experience in the Maldives and were truly blown away by the hospitality — the staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. We stayed in an overwater pool villa, and it was absolutely breathtaking. Waking up to the endless ocean views every morning felt like a dream. The service was top-notch, making us feel pampered and cared for throughout our stay. The food was another highlight — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. There was such a great variety that every meal felt exciting and new. Whether it was breakfast by the water or a special dinner, every bite was delicious. Everything — from the villa to the service to the food — came together to create the most amazing holiday we could have imagined. I truly can’t recommend this place enough. We can’t wait to return! 💙 Read less

From the moment we arrived at Niyama, we felt like we had stepped into paradise. Every detail of the resort is designed to make you feel relaxed, cared for, and completely immersed in the beauty of the Maldives. Our Thakuru, Ammi, was fantastic – attentive, kind, and always one step ahead in making sure everything was perfect. He arranged everything seamlessly, from activities to in-villa surprises, and truly made us feel at home. But the real highlight of our trip was meeting Ronson, the incredible bartender at the Dune Bar. Not only were his cocktails world-class, but his warmth, humor, and genuine passion for his craft made every visit to the bar a joy. He has a gift for remembering guests’ preferences and somehow always knew exactly what drink would suit the moment. Ronson turned casual evenings into unforgettable experiences – he’s the kind of person who makes you want to come back again and again. From stunning overwater villas to the pristine beaches, delicious food, and exceptional service, Niyama delivered on every level. But it’s the people – like Ammi and Ronson – who made our stay truly magical. We left with full hearts, big smiles, and a promise to ourselves that we’ll be back. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – Highly recommend for anyone looking for the perfect Maldivian escape. Read less

I recently stayed at Niyama Maldives for 5 nights, paying over 10,000 USD for the stay. This is an extremely high price, even compared to other top resorts in the Maldives, yet I found no added value or exceptional service to justify it. The amount essentially covered only the room, very average buffet meals, access to the open beach, and two bicycles. All other activities — even basic ones — required additional charges. A major safety and service concern occurred when we found a broken piece of glass in our private pool. We immediately informed management, but there was no apology, no follow-up, and certainly no compensation. This left a very poor impression about guest care and safety. The resort’s location is also far, requiring a seaplane transfer that was both tiring and time-consuming. We arrived exhausted and felt we had lost an entire night of our stay just in transit. In the end, I genuinely believe that if I had spent the same amount anywhere else in the world, I would have received a far superior experience in terms of service, activities, and value for money. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this resort given the cost and what we received in return. Read less
