In the Maldivian language of Dhivehi, ‘Lobi’ means love and ‘Gili’ means island, so therefore Lobigili is, in essence, the island of love. If you’re looking for a romantic trip for two, this is it. Set in an idyllic location with white sandy beaches and sparkling waters, the adult-only OBLU SELECT Lobigili offers some experiences to make this a trip you will never forget. The largest underwater restaurant in the Maldives, Only BLU offers modern gourmet cuisine with a front row seat to the coral reef – and it’s included in the excellent Lobi Plan. This indulgent plan also includes a complimentary sunset fishing trip and a guided snorkelling trip, so you’ll get to see the best of the island and it’s surroundings after that relax with the included spa treatments. Both the beachfront and over water suites have a modern feel with semi open-air bathrooms and walk-in wardrobes, why not upgrade to the water pool villa for that added luxury of a private infinity pool overlooking the lagoon.

Located on the island of Lobigili, just 15 minutes North West of Male International Airport by boat. Complimentary speedboat transfer to and from Malé International Airport.

68 stylishly designed villas, all with air-conditioning, tea/coffee-making facilities, iron and ironing board, complimentary mini-bar replenished daily, robe and slippers, hairdryer, flat-screen LCD TV, in-room safe, separate bath tub and rain shower, and complimentary WiFi access. All villas have 1 king-size bed, sleeping 2 adults.

SunNest Beach Pool Villas feature an open air bathroom, cosy veranda, walk-in wardrobe, and a private pool just steps from the beach.

All Inclusive - The Lobi Plan: includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner served at Ylang-Ylang. Selection of freshly prepared local snacks served between 4:00-6:00pm at The Swing Bar. One a la carte fine dining experience per guest per each four nights stayed at Only BLU (pre-booking required, subject to availability). One dining experience per guest per each four nights stayed at Gaadiya 17 Food Truck. Unlimited orders from a wide selection of liquor and premium wines at Ylang Ylang and The Swing Bar, and unlimited orders of signature cocktails from a selected list at The Swing Bar. Soft drinks, mineralised water, and an assortment of tea and coffee available at all outlets. Complimentary use of snorkelling equipment throughout the stay. Complimentary selection of non-motorised water sports. One complimentary sunset fishing trip per guest per stay (weather permitting). Nest Water Villas are situated over the ocean with direct lagoon access, an outdoor shower, and a private overwater hammock.

SunNest Water Pool Villas are similar to the Water Villas, with the addition of a private infinity pool.

We arrived at Lobigilli early morning after a seamless speedboat transfer from Male to the island thanks to Iman and the boat team’s professionalism and efficiency. From the moment we arrived to the moment we departed, our experience of Lobigilli's hospitality was wonderful. Lisa was assigned as our island hostess (island angel) and she assisted wonderfully with any queries that we had. We were able to go straight to our accommodation and after a rest, Lisa arranged to take us for a late breakfast and gave us a tour around Lobigilli and the neighbouring island. We really felt cared for by Lisa for the duration of our stay. We experienced gorgeous weather for the first three days of our holiday and enjoyed snorkelling from our water villa around the house reef. Unfortunately, on the fourth day the weather took a turn for the worst and high winds hit the island. We made the most of this and managed to find a lovely place to sunbathe on the beach. relax and still swim in the sea. For the remainder of the trip red flags were persistent at the house reef which unfortunately meant no access to the ocean was permitted. The accommodation was superb and had a lovely style. It was kept immaculate by the lovely housekeeper Natalie and we were appreciative of the turn-down surprises. The food at the resort was amazing, fresh, lots of variety and the chefs obviously took pride in making the beautiful cuisines for guests to enjoy. Recommendations by staff from menus were superb when we couldn't decide. Beautifully presented desserts. The service from the staff at the Swing Bar and pool was fantastic and we would especially like to praise and thank Divya, Mayarin and Sailo for their friendliness and amazing service. The cocktails were delicious! The spa treatments that we received were superb and we really enjoyed the experience provided by Diska and Pebri. Mealtimes at Ylang, Ylang were joyful, with special thanks to Svetlana, Sapna, Jenny, Dechen, Haydie, Nabeel, Scothy, Sindy, Alpi and of course, the chefs. We felt that we were amongst friends and looked forward to seeing them at breakfast, lunch and dinner. We felt that they really did care and their genuine warmth elevated our experience. Given our experiences, we were sad to leave Lobigilli. Lisa and those mentioned made this an unforgettable holiday and we would definitely consider returning. The resort's beautiful natural beauty, the activities we participated in, the exceptional food we ate, and the wonderful cocktails we drank made our holiday even more wonderful than we could have imagined. All the restaurant staff, especially Haydie, were always very friendly and helpful. The food was fine-dining and delicious. We also particularly loved the Swing Bar team, especially Chatura. We stayed for 8 nights at oblu lobgilli in July in a beach villa with pool. This was our first time here but our 8th Maldives visit. The resort is adults only ,very quiet and calming, as soon as we arrived we switched off . Once arriving into male it is only a 15/20 minute boat ride, however you will need to wait for other people to arrive before setting off ,up to an hour wait sometimes, this is something that we have experienced before, they are not like taxi's up and down despite only being a short journey time and there are plenty of waiting areas in the airport. We were given water and re-freshing towels before setting off. Once we arrived at lobgilli, we were met by our villa host , and taken to the swing bar for another refreshing towel and a glass of fizz , your villa host is the first point of contact for your stay, you keep in touch via WhatsApp, but if your like us and don't really have your phone on during your stay no problem, your host will see you at some point, it's only a small island! We had already downloaded the app at-home, you can do this once you have booked your holiday and have your reference number, then a week or so before you depart you can book meals etc, you can't book the spa, however we sent an email requesting the dates we would like and this was done ready for us when we arrived. A quick buggy tour of the island before being taken to our room, this has a walkout straight onto the beach. The room was cleaned every morning once we had left for breakfast and the mini bar restocked, so coming back to a clean room to start our day was lovely. The food in the resurant was amazing, all fresh and cooked to order at the open kitchen ,nothing is too much trouble, I asked for a plain grilled piece of chicken for lunch as the option was spicy and this was perfectly fine, again for a breakfast ,I asked for a banana and strawberries to have with my pancakes and yoghurt and this was no problem. The staff make this resort and are all friendly and look after you, the guests that stay here are from different cultures and every one is here to either celebrate an occasion or just to spend time together to re-charge ,it's not the sort of resort that people met up to have drinks talk about what life they have back at home, going to the bar is a relaxed experience where you take a seat and the drinks are brought to you, something you look forward to on your holiday '-letting other people run around after you. We did the sunset fishing cruise and sunset cruise which are both included in the plan, only 6 other couples , so quiet and the staff looked after us. We saw plenty of management around and a lady came to see us during our dinner, to get feed back, we said we've had an amazing time and we have already booked to come back! Read less
