Wow, what an incredible resort, we arrived in Male found our way to the OBLU desk and were instructed where to wait. We were then collected and taken to our speedboat, promptly wisked across the island to the resort. We arrived and greeted by reception, a short wait to collect our key card, and then taken in a buggy to our room, we had booked a two bedroom family room, and couldn’t have been happier Our room was spotless and well kept, the bathrooms are hot and humid, be prepared as it’s something else. The buffet caters for everyone, we were well feed and looked after all week. The self service fridges and coffee are a great idea. The music round the pool was very pleasant and non intrusive, the entertainment staff are not pushy at all. Rashid from the water sport centre, was amazing he made all our trips extra special. The underwater restaurant is a definite must, very expensive but just WoW. Make sure you take water shoes and snorkel gear, lots of sun cream and ladies don’t bother with lots of shoes you will not wear them. This was our 6th visit to the Maldives and our first time at OBLU Xperience Ailafushi. It’s a family-friendly resort with a lot going for it—but a few key issues, particularly around service that let it down. Positives first: The lagoon was great for snorkelling with baby sharks and stingrays. IT was also a great introduction for our 5 year old. We loved the self-service setup for drinks, the spotless grounds and room (I have to say its the cleanest resort i've stayed at in years), and the exceptional quality and variety of food (though it did get repetitive). It was also refreshing not to have to share dining tables, and meal timings were great for families. A big plus, children are allowed in the overwater villas, which is fairly rare in the Maldives. However, I had a few safety concerns. We signed a waiver acknowledging the risks of having a child in the villa, which is fair and I would still do again but the bathroom and balcony railings had very wide gaps, which felt unsafe for little ones. The front door also lacked a chain or deadbolt, which made us uneasy that our daughter could wander out. There’s also a design flaw in the villa lighting worth noting. The bathroom light is automatic—likely a safety feature, since the bathroom is open-air over the water—which is understandable. However, there's a panel in the bathroom door that lets light flood directly into the bedroom, so the room never truly gets dark at night. I prefer a dark room to sleep, so this really bothered me. Fortunately, I had a sleep mask, but it’s something to be aware of if you’re sensitive to light. Our biggest issue was with the lack of service and poor communication. Staff interaction was minimal throughout our stay. When we asked about extending our stay or paying for a late check-out, we received inconsistent pricing from different staff members and were told to “book online' when we enquired about staying an additional night. There was no flexibility—we were told we could only extend until 5pm or 8pm (were given 3 different prices for 5pm) but our boat transfer was at 7pm, so neither option worked. We offered to pay for an extra hour and were told no. The departure shower facilities were underwhelming—no dryers or amenities, and only space for two people. After borrowing a hair dryer (which we had to actively request), I was asked to write a review while waiting—which delayed me just enough for our luggage to be taken. When I asked where it had gone, I was vaguely pointed “toward the jetty.” A huge positive for the resort is they allowed us meals and beverages from check out until departure which again is pretty rare. The resort does many things right and I genuinely think it with a little more effort it could be perfect. We would definitely return with our daughter for another short trip. The positives outweigh the negatives. Read less

My other half enjoyed the pool aqua Zumba session but I preferred the evening pool foam party! Highlight for me was the jetski, I’m 58 and never ridden one before but after 5 mins guidance I was bouncing on the waves humming the 007 theme, thinking of Roger Moore! It was expensive but after waiting over 40 years to do this it was worth every penny! Loved it so much it made me cry! Read less

Brilliant resort for families, couples and newly weds. The resort caters to our every need from variety of food, activities, blue ocean and sights. Rooms are regularly cleaned (thanks Shammu for taking care of our room). Overall id definitely come back again for the wonderful hospitality and amenities this place provides.

The overall experience was fabulous by all staff and resort Bapuji, rosa and mr bikash were amazing bar tenders called my daughter princess great service. Summa was amazing receptionist my my daughters older double Irina was a good at Elena spa Kids club staff were amazing great facilities
