Where is it

Located on a private island in Raa Atoll. Transfer time from Malé International Airport: 45 minutes by complimentary seaplane transfer (remember to pack light for the seaplane transfer as luggage allowance is 20kg plus 5kg hand luggage, per person).

Hotel information

167 beach and water villas. All with LED TV, WiFi, living and dining areas, mini-bar (replenished daily), safe, and tea/coffee-making facilities. Beach Villas are 61sqm and located just steps away from the beach, with a terrace, and 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Raaya Plan All Inclusive includes: breakfast, lunch and dinner at RAAYA Life. Premium brands of spirits, wines, and beers. Cocktails and signature drinks. Mocktails, seasonal fresh fruit juices, soft drinks, RAAYA still and sparkling water, and a variety of tea and coffee. Champagne welcome drink on arrival. In-villa mini-bar stocked with wines, beers, soft beverages, and snacks. Full access to the fitness centre and yoga pavilion, with weekly and seasonal group activities including yoga, Pilates and strength training. Beach Villas with Pool are 91sqm and are on the beachfront, with a private plunge pool and daybed on the terrace, and 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 1 child.

Water Villas are 73sqm and are located on a private deck with a daybed, overwater hammock and steps down into the lagoon. Villas have 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Water Villas with Pool are 80sqm and have a private plunge pool on the deck, with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

2 Bedroom Family Beach Villas are interconnecting villas offering plenty of living spaces, terrace with dining area, hammock, and daybeds, with 2 king-size beds, sleeping maximum 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

2 Bedroom Family Beach Villas with pool are also available. Spanning 232sqm, these interconnecting villas offer a spacious terrace with dining area, hammock, and daybeds, plus a 19sqm pool. With 2 king-size beds, sleeping maximum 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

We have just returned from a lovely 9 nights stay at Raaya by Atmosphere. Bearing in mind this was my 17th time in the Maldives ( travelled with husband, friends and family). We normally choose a small island with a house reef which is within swimming distance from our villa but this time with two 17 years old in tow we went for a bigger island with more activities to do. The island is quite big for Maldivian standards ( about 3km) they do offer bikes but which are not attached to the room. Therefore wherever you find some in the racks at the restaurants, bars or reception you are allowed to take them and use them. There is however a good buggy service ( you can check their whereabouts on the app) with buggies coming and going very often. The island is very green with super lush vegetation and very well kept. An army of gardeners work tirelessly to maintain it and keep it clean. There is though a downside to the island being so green and is the fact that there are quite few mosquitoes and insects and on this occasion we got bitten like never before! The hotel does provide insect spray but please bring your own. The rooms are very well appointed and beautiful. We stayed in a family two bedroom villa with pool. Very big and spacious with a great outdoor space and facing the most beautiful beach on-the sunrise side. The rooms are served twice with an evening turned down service. The resort has a main buffet restaurant and three other restaurants. If you are able to book in advance please do as we found it a bit difficult when we got there but managed in the end. Our favourite restaurant was Amber& loved the food, the ambience and the atmosphere set on a beautiful beach with great views. We also used the bar above on several occasions just before and after sunset. The Italian restaurant was also very good with a nice variety of food and wines. The third restaurant is the Middle Eastern one set by the pool with good dishes and great service. The buffet restaurant is nice with a good choice of food but sometimes we felt it needed more personal serving the carved meats. Also more salad choice is needed. Fruit juice and fruits in the morning is amazing. The choice of wines and spirits is very good and some of the cocktails are some of the best I have ever had in an all inclusive. The two included excursions are good but certainly need to be booked in advance as with the restaurants. We really recommend the turtle quest as you see lots of turtles on a lovely reef. The spa is great and you get two 35m massages included and you can choose what to have. Unfortunately the house reef is not great and we found it a bit disappointing. We really had a great time at Raaya and we have some lovely staff to mention: Musto, Afzal, Imanchu, Chancha and our room attendant Imhaz. They really made the difference and made our stay ultra special. Read less

The best massage I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve visited 170 countries in my life but finally I’ve found masters at body scrub and massage. It’s not only the touch of their hands, but it’s spiritual. It penetrates the body and soul. Zodi and Rea are both great. Thank you.

Lots of restaurant options with Ampersand, offering an exceptional 5 course dinner menu, being our standout. Service with a smile and attention to detail was outstanding, with way too many people to recognise by name, but every day started with a huge smile and friendly conversation from Chanchal, whilst he created our amazing breakfast juices and fruit platters (we also called him King of the Juice) and our villas were always spotless thanks to Shaain who always made sure we had everything we needed and decorated the room on our wedding anniversary. We had the most amazing time. The service and food was outstanding. All the staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Can’t recommend highly enough. Congratulations to all, especially to Chanchal, the king of the juice bar who brightened our mornings and gave us a special start to our day.
