Where is it

Located 118km northwest of Malé in Baa Atoll. Transfer time from Malé International Airport: 20-minute fixed wing domestic flight to Dharavandhoo Island followed by a 10-minute speedboat transfer to Royal Island.

Hotel information

148 classically designed Beach Villas. All with terrace, air-conditioning and ceiling fan, satellite TV, complimentary WiFi, telephone, tea/coffee-making facilities, mini-bar*, hairdryer, and safe, bathrobes and slippers, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

All Inclusive option: includes breakfast lunch and dinner in the main restaurant and afternoon tea and snacks at the pool terrace. Drinks include bottled water, tea and coffee, canned or bottled soft drinks and juice. House wine, beer and selected house brand spirits (gin, vodka, rum, arrack, brandy & whiskey) plus selected cocktails, from the main bar and pool terrace, from 10:00am–1:00am. Mini-bar with two small coca colas and two canned fruit juices, replenished once per day (all other items at a charge). Sports including snorkelling equipment, dingy sailing and canoeing. One night-fishing excursion per guest per stay, when staying 6 nights or more.

Please note: Champagne and premium spirits are available at an extra charge.

Premium all inclusive: includes breakfast, lunch and dinner at the main restaurant. Guests can also select one a la carte meal per day at the pool terrace or Raabondhi restaurant. Afternoon tea, a wide range of wines, beers and premium brand spirits, cocktails, tea & coffee, soft drinks and bottled water throughout the day. Mini-bar (replenished once daily) and a selection of land and water sports such as badminton, tennis, snorkelling, windsurfing and stand up paddle boarding. $100 credit per person per stay can be used towards either the spa or diving.

Everything was great! The hotel is the best for a relaxing holiday! The food is great, there is always a choice and variety! The waiter Abdulla came across in the restaurant, whom it was a pity to part with, a very friendly and helpful person! Thank you.

I would like to thank all the staff who go above and beyond for the guests. Royal island was a fantastic place to stay. The rooms are cleaned 2x daily. The meals served are appetising and there are plenty options available. I was pleased with my stay and hope to return in the future.

We loved it here so much that we booked our next stay five months in advance – even before our plane back to Dubai had taken off! 😀 The journey from the Czech Republic was a bit longer and more tiring, but it was absolutely worth it. We were looking for a place where we could truly relax, and this resort exceeded all our expectations. A big thank you also goes to the staff who took such wonderful care of us throughout our stay. Special thanks to Habib, who fulfilled every wish during our meals – from preparing gluten-free and dairy-free pancakes every morning to bringing me dairy-free ice cream for dessert in the evening. (BTW, all meals had allergens clearly marked, and if you’re craving something that contains an ingredient you can’t have, just let the staff know – they’ll be happy to prepare it exactly the way you need.) And also to Noble for his kindness and hospitality – he was always happy to assist us with anything we needed, and he also helped organize our special romantic dinner on the beach. We lived in bungalow 232, location perfect with regards to the sea - there are no strong currents and plenty of fish. Supreme staff, polite and responsive. I specifically thank Myatt and Faridun - in a challenging moment they made every effort and provided prompt assistance. I also thank the staff of Diving Center for prompt help. Our child particularly enjoyed Kids Club, staff (one woman) was excellent there too. Responsive and tactful cleaner. Waiting stuff is also wonderful. Cleaning happens twice a day, towels are changed twice a day. Restaurant serves different cuisine every day - Italian, Thai, Barbecue, etc. Lots of seafood, with great variety. Tasty deserts! Staff creates welcoming atmosphere - when you arrive they stay on dock and put their hand to their heart, and when you leave the island they wave.
