Located 118km northwest of Malé in Baa Atoll. Transfer time from Malé International Airport: 20-minute fixed wing domestic flight to Dharavandhoo Island followed by a 10-minute speedboat transfer to Royal Island.

Room Information

148 classically designed Beach Villas. All with terrace, air-conditioning and ceiling fan, satellite TV, complimentary WiFi, telephone, tea/coffee-making facilities, mini-bar*, hairdryer, and safe, bathrobes and slippers, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

All Inclusive option: includes breakfast lunch and dinner in the main restaurant and afternoon tea and snacks at the pool terrace. Drinks include bottled water, tea and coffee, canned or bottled soft drinks and juice. House wine, beer and selected house brand spirits (gin, vodka, rum, arrack, brandy & whiskey) plus selected cocktails, from the main bar and pool terrace, from 10:00am–1:00am. Mini-bar with two small coca colas and two canned fruit juices, replenished once per day (all other items at a charge). Sports including snorkelling equipment, dingy sailing and canoeing. One night-fishing excursion per guest per stay, when staying 6 nights or more.

Please note: Champagne and premium spirits are available at an extra charge.

Premium all inclusive: includes breakfast, lunch and dinner at the main restaurant. Guests can also select one a la carte meal per day at the pool terrace or Raabondhi restaurant. Afternoon tea, a wide range of wines, beers and premium brand spirits, cocktails, tea & coffee, soft drinks and bottled water throughout the day. Mini-bar (replenished once daily) and a selection of land and water sports such as badminton, tennis, snorkelling, windsurfing and stand up paddle boarding. $100 credit per person per stay can be used towards either the spa or diving.

“The most wonderful experience celebrating my 50th Birthday at Royal Island”

Thank you to everyone on Royal Island for the most wonderful holiday. I was visiting to celebrate my 50th Birthday with my family and it was a truly magical experience. From the moment we arrived at Malé airport it was perfect. We were welcomed at the airport and immediately supported to catch our domestic flight to Dharavandhoo. We were greeted at Dharavandhoo by the excellent Noble, who expertly guided us all the way to the resort via Speedboat. Noble was there for us whenever we needed him throughout our stay. Whatever we needed, he would sort it for us. Noble is a real credit to the Royal Island team - friendly, professional, proficient and extremely caring - thanks Noble! Our apartment was wonderful. Clean, comfortable and air conditioned with wonderful views. The whole Island is stunning. Crystal clear waters, gorgeous sandy beaches and lush green trees, plants and colourful flowers. All the amenities you could wish for. At dinner we were greeted by the amazing Zeff, and he looked after us superbly at every breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout our stay. Zeff was so lovely, an amazing young man who was always so friendly, welcoming and caring. Thank you Zeff for making our holiday so special. We enjoyed our Villa so much. Our cleaner Saroj was absolutely fantastic, and he kept our place in sparkling condition. Saroj also arranged a special celebration for my 50th Birthday which was wonderful. We met so many amazing people at the Resort. Zeff, Noble, Made, Swarna, Ali, Lakshi, Sandar, Saroj, Mark and Anjal at Reception, the lovely sports manager who played tennis with me, the fantastic dive center team, the bar staff, the chefs, the brilliant watersports team (including Rio the parrot who we fell in love with!)… honestly everyone at the resort was wonderful and were so grateful to each and every one of you for making our holiday so special. A special thank you also to the amazing band, the Halloween DJ and the Karaoke guy for some brilliant nights out. The beaches are incredible and so is the wildlife. On land there are bats, Herons, Lizards… but it’s in the Ocean that the magic of Royal Island comes alive. Sea Turtles, Sharks, Eagle Rays, Sting Rays and every type of colourful fish. We got to swim with Manta Rays TWICE which was a life affirming experience. We spent hours snorkelling in the ocean each day - it was an incredible destination for snorkelling and diving. Thank you Royal Island. It truly was the holiday of a lifetime and I’ll be forever grateful.

Royal Island = paradise! Our stay at Royal Island Resort was simply perfect, the most beautiful week of our lives. Special thanks to Nazia Banu, who welcomed us with warmth and care from the very first day, and to Ali Ismail, the restaurant manager, for his constant attention, kindness, and impeccable hospitality. The lovely Lazki and Sandaar always found the perfect table for us, while Zeff, Zubair, and Nawwaf made every meal a joy with their smiles and professionalism. We also thank the amazing chefs for their delicious and varied dishes. Unforgettable the sports team, especially Ashad and Diar, who made every activity fun, and Nova from the souvenir shop, whose smile brightened our days. And finally, our deepest gratitude to Shabeen and Raif from the diving center for letting us live the magical experience of swimming among dozens of manta rays. Truly a paradise made special by its wonderful people, we’ll never forget it! 💙

“Fantastic island stay”

I went with my mum and we chose based on other reviews and the location of the hotel in the baa atoll as I am a keen snorkeller. I also wanted to do the manta ray excursion. It did not disappoint, we were greeted by the kind and helpful host Nazia. The food was delicious and so many options every day but I loved the Indian corner. Shout out to Ali and Ashwin in the restaurant everyday welcoming us. Thanks to Ayyoob my diving instructor for support and fun on my advanced open water certificate. We did see three manta rays snorkelling and on a couple of my dives which was a dream come true! Make sure to go in manta season if you can. The rooms are lovely and clean and our beach villa was just a few metres from the shore line. The snorkelling around the island is also brilliant with small reef sharks, turtles and fish.
