We booked our honeymoon trip to the Maldives through a travel agency in Taiwan and chose VARU by Atmosphere as our island resort. It turned out to be the perfect decision. The all-inclusive package not only covered our accommodation, three meals a day, and unlimited bar drinks, but also included complimentary spa treatments and specialty dining experiences based on the length of our stay.
First of all, we want to sincerely thank our host May (小花), who took care of all our daily reservations, always responded promptly, and even arranged a surprise for my husband’s birthday during our honeymoon. Special thanks also to Alamiu for the beautifully decorated honeymoon room – it was so exquisite that we couldn’t stop taking photos!
We stayed in two different villa types, which means we almost experienced the majority of the island’s accommodations. Both allowed us to step directly into the water for snorkeling right outside our room – absolutely amazing. The villas were spacious and airy, yet private, with excellent amenities. The toiletries were of high quality, and everything we needed – from indoor slippers and outdoor flip-flops to life jackets – was provided. Having a personal minibar was another wonderful touch.
At Elena Spa, we had the best spa experience of our lives. The soothing ocean view, combined with the incredible massage skills of Madhel and Putri, gave us complete relaxation and release. This is something I highly recommend to every guest.
During our honeymoon, my husband tried yoga and Pilates for the first time. With complimentary classes held every morning and evening, we wished we could stay longer just to join more sessions! Winston was gentle and observant, making sure each student felt comfortable, stretched, and at peace. Keshab was also very professional, tailoring the training to each individual’s body condition. Thanks to them, my husband developed a real interest in both activities and even suggested that we continue training together when we return home – something that makes me so happy.
Dining was another unforgettable part of our stay. The Friday night feast at Lime and Chilli, and the live singing and a local cultural performance at Bay Rouge on the same day, created one of the most magical nights of our honeymoon. My husband’s favorite restaurant was Charcoal, where we were taken care of so warmly by Sahoo. Even when we later met him at Bay Rouge, he remained just as kind and enthusiastic. Thank you for making our time on the beach so memorable. We also want to thank the staff at Kaage, who not only celebrated my husband’s birthday with us but also impressed us with their pride and dedication in presenting Maldivian culinary culture. It made me want to learn even more about the Maldives’ history and traditions.
And last but definitely not least, we fell in love with the dive center team. As ocean lovers, we joined water activities almost every day – snorkeling (twice), the shark combo, and the fish tank – all of which were fantastic experiences. The dive instructors clearly love the ocean and are passionate about sharing their marine knowledge. As a beginner, I felt completely safe and comfortable exploring the underwater world. Special thanks to AJ, Nemo, the instructor in the white wetsuit with black fins featuring white marine life designs, and the instructor with the white stingray fins (sorry we couldn’t remember your names!). We encountered these four team members repeatedly during our stay, and they always took care of everyone with warmth and professionalism. I know I will truly miss them. 🥹
The Maldives is breathtakingly beautiful, and I strongly recommend using the resort’s professional photography service – it was quick, effortless, and the results were stunning.
To everyone at VARU, thank you for being part of one of the most beautiful chapters in my life. This was a honeymoon we will never forget. 😘
