We stayed at W Maldives from 1–4 August 2026 for a girls’ trip, and it was truly one of the happiest and most unforgettable holidays we have ever had.
W Maldives is undeniably beautiful — from the crystal-clear blue ocean and stunning overwater villas to the incredible coral reefs, marine life, sunsets and unforgettable encounters with sea turtles and stingrays. However, what made our stay truly exceptional was the people.
Every member of the team we encountered was warm, friendly, professional and genuinely caring. Many of them remembered our names, greeted us with sincere smiles and were always ready to help whenever we needed anything. The service never felt mechanical; it felt personal and heartfelt.
I would especially like to recognise and thank the wonderful people who made our stay so memorable.
A Warm Welcome from the Very Beginning
Our W Maldives experience started while we were waiting for our seaplane at W Lounge. A gentleman assisted us with our check-in and patiently provided us with a lot of useful information about the resort. Unfortunately, we did not manage to get his name, but I remember him mentioning that he had many years of experience working with seaplane transfers.
His professionalism, knowledge and attentive service immediately made us feel comfortable and well taken care of. It was a wonderful first impression and the perfect start to our holiday.
Ameen — Our Wonderful Butler
From the moment we arrived on the island, our Butler, Ameen, made us feel incredibly welcome. He personally showed us around the resort and introduced us to the different areas of the island.
I had also requested a birthday surprise for one of my friends, and Ameen made sure everything was beautifully arranged, including the decorations and birthday cake. He truly delivered what he promised, and the surprise was a complete success.
It was such a special moment for the three of us, and the cake was delicious too!

Our Beautiful Overwater Villas
On our first night, we stayed in Superior Overwater Villa 204, and the moment we stepped onto the terrace and saw the crystal-clear blue ocean, we were completely amazed. The overwater net was also perfect for relaxing and taking photos!
The following day, Phoebe kindly helped us with our room change to Premier Overwater Villa 226, and we were absolutely delighted.
The villa offered beautiful sunset views, and the house reef right in front of us made snorkelling incredibly convenient. There were so many corals and marine creatures to discover, and we were even lucky enough to see stingrays from our villa several times.
The natural beauty of W Maldives was just as incredible after sunset. At night, we could simply look up and see a sky filled with countless stars. On some nights, we were even lucky enough to see shooting stars passing across the sky, and on a clear night, we could see the Milky Way.
Standing by the ocean, surrounded by complete tranquillity, while looking up at the stars and the Milky Way was absolutely breathtaking. It was one of those moments when we simply stopped, looked up and felt incredibly lucky to be there. ✨🌌

Fish — A Beautiful and Memorable Dining Experience
On our first evening, we had dinner at Fish, and it was such a wonderful experience. The fusion seafood concept was creative, beautifully presented and delicious.
The setting was elegant and romantic, surrounded by the beautiful ocean, making it a perfect place for a special occasion or honeymoon dinner.
We would also like to thank Ara, whom we met at both Fish and Kitchen. Seeing her in the evening at Fish and again the next morning at Kitchen, always with the same warm smile and welcoming attitude, really stood out to us. Thank you, Ara, for making us feel so welcome.
Fire — One of the Highlights of Our Stay
We absolutely loved Fire!
We had steak there on our second evening, and both the food and service were outstanding. A special thank you to Dream, Saneen, Arsham and Kadex. We had the opportunity to chat with them, and they were all incredibly friendly, attentive and professional.
We enjoyed Fire so much that we decided to return again on our final evening. In fact, during the day, we were already talking about how much we were looking forward to going back!
There was also one occasion when I accidentally ordered my steak more cooked than I preferred. I felt bad about asking, but the team kindly offered to prepare another one for me. Their priority was simply to make sure I enjoyed my meal and left happy.
That level of genuine care and professionalism really impressed me. They were not simply serving food — they genuinely cared about the entire guest experience.
Shane — A Truly Meaningful Gift
A very special thank you to Food & Beverage Manager Shane, who surprised us with a beautiful sea turtle piece of jewellery on our final day.
This gift meant so much to us because one of the most unforgettable moments of our trip was meeting Bob, the sea turtle. The gift became more than just a souvenir — it is now a meaningful reminder of the wonderful memories we created at W Maldives.
Thank you, Shane, for such a thoughtful and precious gesture. We will treasure it.
Executive Chef Karen — A Truly Special Surprise
A very special thank you to Executive Chef Karen. On our final evening at Fire, he asked whether we had experienced the dolphin cruise. We told him we had, and he casually said that he would bring some dolphins for us to see.
We honestly didn’t expect anything from it, but the next morning at breakfast, he actually surprised us by bringing us to see the dolphins! He even personally prepared a beautiful dolphin-themed cupcake for us.
We were so surprised and touched that he remembered our conversation and turned it into such a beautiful moment. It was such a thoughtful gesture and one of our favourite memories from the entire trip.

Shamaan Shareef — Exceptional Care Until the Very End
Even after leaving the island, the wonderful service continued.
When we arrived at Malé Airport, Shamaan Shareef welcomed us and accompanied us to the airline counter to assist with our check-in.
What impressed us most was that he did not simply leave after assisting us. He patiently waited outside until we had successfully completed the check-in process and passed through Immigration before leaving.
His dedication and sense of responsibility made us feel safe and genuinely cared for right until the very end of our journey.
