Enjoyable day in the North of Mauritius at the Lux Grand Gaube with a special mention for Reedoo who made the beach experience unforgettable from the moment we arrived until leaving. A turkish themed lunch was provided at Bodrum Blue with excellent views of the bay. A number of water activities are available including a large pool or try a sun lounger for those looking for a more relaxing time. Thanks to Reedoo & the staff for ensuring it was a day to remember.

Spent an amazing day package at LUX GG with friends and it was made especially awesome by the beach attendant Reedoo who made everything just perfect. We had the best time and really appreciate his service. Definitely going back for a day package and will 100% bee line for Reedoo.

We went to Lux Grand Gaube, for a 16 day stay to recapture the magic we felt when we were married in this very hotel 35 year ago. Immediately on arrival the magnificent view of the ocean greets you at reception, with that unmistakable "minty" smell that is present all over the hotel. The reception staff could not do enough to ensure we were taken to our beautiful room, and we were settled in (with welcome bubbly and honey flavoured bite sized cakes to surprise us). Also a wonderful beach bag - so useful, and a cotton beach top and hat - the hotel thinks of everything! The whole resort is carefully managed with beautiful gardens, tended daily, and the beach kept free of any seaweed. The sea is not deep and very warm. There is a wonderful coffee bar which is open nearly all the time, with an amazing delicious selection - thank you Sylvano, who has an amazing affinity to all the guests - and makes everyone feel welcome - and that they need at least two coffees! The main restaurant Palm Court, has a wonderful selection of tasty food at breakfast, and also evening meal, with a cold room with a selection of fine cheeses and freshly prepared fruits. The ladies working there were very joyful. The evening desserts in the cold display were eagerly selected by all guests. The restaurant has a good selection of Indian curries and also pasta and pizza made to order. The serving staff were eager to please, bring beverages and clear the tables (the wild beautiful birds were a joy to watch). Jason makes sure everything runs smoothly here. Diran was also doing his utmost to ensure everyone had what they wanted, and was extremely kind and thoughtful to us, we thank him immensely. I would like to point out that the nut muesli is the best I have eaten anywhere in the world. Recently installed glass doors to the ocean side, will ensure comfort at all times, in case of wind or rain. Nice to sit on the bar stools here and enjoy the view! We also experienced a breakfast by the pool, which was just wonderful, with the white table cloth, and a fruit plate to die for. We felt very special. Thank you. Love that yellow piano being played in the morning - feels really special. Working hard, was Deepack, who is in charge of the hotel's bee hives, what an interesting project, and a revelation to try the different takes of honey according to the flowers used in its natural production. Thank you for the unique experience. Nice to see new fruit trees being planted there. Beach Rouge offered a romantic lunch and evening setting with a good range of food on offer, and depending on taste some of the best desserts in the whole hotel. The chocolate mousse is to die for.... We re-lived an amazing experience which was an evening meal actually on the beach - surrounded by tea lights in the sand, and such a romantic meal. It just felt like we were in heaven with our own waiters, and chosen menu. Listening to the sea, and just enjoying our meal and drinks..... a perfect Anniversary evening to relive our wedding 35 years ago in the same hotel! Thank you so much Giany. Also Nitisha, we cannot thank you enough for arranging a "copy" Wedding certificate, as our 35 year old paper original had faded so much it was almost unreadable, accompanying us was very kind, and we thank you for arranging it as a gift to us - so kind. Also thank you for the wonderful beach bag and "beach Rouge" hat - so special. Bodrum Blue, with its marvelous views over the bay had revised its menu from a couple of years ago, and there was more on offer, and the desserts were good too (ever tried a chocolate soup)! It was amazing to watch the main chef seamlessly prepare the food - the Mezze...... well, we had it more than once! The Creole Smoke House tucked away in a most welcome "adults only" area had wooden benches and tables on a gravel standing, and served the most wonderful dishes day and evening. The main servers here were the very professional Ashwan and Ricardo, who couldn't do enough for you (and serve a mean strawberry Lassi)! The curries are amazing, keep bringing the chilli bites! On the beach the beach team brings drinks to the sun loungers (with a cold box if required). Well done Virius. Always happy to bring a beach towel, and make the beach comfortable. The Boat House team were very helpful (thanks LIndsey) when we required a laser sailing boat they were happy to launch us - tide permitting. A 3rd laser boat would be greatly appreciated to allow more than 2 guests to enjoy the experience (only 2 hours a day permitted)!. On the adult only beach there is a lovely hammock, which possibly needs to be raised up, unless a dunking is required!! The little beach on the bay behind Bodum Blue possibly would be more popular if the 4 poster beds were here also, otherwise this area is not used much - quiet option! The rooms were kept clean and tidy, with the mini-bar top up, and thanks to Manish for looking after us. A large comfortable bed, and excellent black-out blind. The boxes of tissues were particularly useful (we had colds)!! A surprise chocolate display was left by Diran, that dark chocolate........mmmmmm The Management team, Joenatha, Sandeep and Giany were extremely tolerant to our wishes, and were able to ensure everything was as we wanted, and our dream holiday was again, exactly as we dreamed and wished it would be. Tucked away in this hotel, it's the perfect place for a wedding, honeymoon, or even with the family. It has an amazing atmosphere, and it is like staying with your best friends, everyone is offering and making all your dreams come true.... The outside world just drifts away, and you truly live in the "unbelievable" moment!. Will we return........ try to stop us!
