The rooms were very spacious with an amazing bathroom and a comfortable bed. The breakfast and food options (we upgraded to half board i.e. dinner at 1200 Mauritian rupees per adult per night), with a great mix of continental, Indian and Mauritian options. There was enough options for vegetarians and thus we did not struggle. The property overall is very beautiful with an amazing long beach, great facilities like boathouse (who organizes free glass bottom boat tour and snorkelling), free drinks available at beach in daytime, 3 amazing big pools and expansive grounds which our kids really loved. The staff was always very welcoming and helpful. Read less

Had a 5 day stay booked here as a group. Upon arrival check in was slow. We were offered a shot size glass of juice and a cold towel. Due to the restaurant closing soon after our arrival we briefly went to the room to leave bags and went to eat. When we got back to the room it was clear there were many issues. A huge number of flies, blood splats on the picture above the bed, huge amount of dust, badly stained mattresses and protectors, light held together with tape, air con unit falling apart, discoloured toilet seat and ants and bugs crawling out from the bath. We rang reception and a housekeeper arrived with some fly spray. Upon showing her how bad things were she called someone else. We were then offered a ‘quick deep clean’ or we could go to another room for the night whilst they cleaned it properly and return in the morning. We were not happy about either option and asked for a new room. A guest manager arranged this for us. This room was tired in appearance but clean and problem free. It is worth noting that everyone in our group had major issues and everyone was moved to new rooms when our travel agent stepped in. The hotel also offered rum tasting and a group meal to apologise which was appreciated. The grounds are lovely and well kept. Plenty of loungers to relax around the pool or on the beach. Towels are provided and can be exchanged for clean towels at the hut near the beach. Food ok but the amount of birds in the buffet restaurant, I felt, was unacceptable. They were hopping about on tables and chairs whilst people were eating and also on the cereal at breakfast. Read less

Location: The hotel is on the south coast, in an area where the coral reef does create a protective swim zone. Also great for astrophotography for southern sky objects, it is probably the best location given clearer skies. Commute to airport : very scenic route Commute to north: via B102: the most beautiful sceneries you can expect My score :9 out of 10 Beach: Not the greatest one on the island as unless you have protective footware, you’re highly likely to pickup foot injuries from sharp broken coral and/or volcanic rocks I’ll give it 6/10 Staff: Mostly kind and conscientious; a few do need updated training as they can come across as a little rude My score: 6/10 Amenities: Kids activity, baby sitting, water sports, gym, spa/hamam present and all well presented My score: 8/10 Eateries There are 5 options within the hotel: 1- buffet restaurant :(breakfast, lunch and dinner) Very limited in my view, hygiene not always observed (see my pic of coffee machine as an example); not value for money, staff not always polite, however a great setup with open access to garden/pool- I’ll give it 1 out of 10 2- la playa beachfront restaurant: Top quality food, extremely professional staff (won’t forget Rahul’s kindness to my daughter), extremely romantic setup, albeit a little overpriced (see pics of tiny lobster costing 2800rp, £50 approx) I’ll give it 7/10 3- burger van A cute addition to the hotel 5/10 4- bar food Typically deepfried stuff can be ordered, (chips, calamari, samosas etc) Great ambiance with the pool and live music area 6/10 5- Room service, sourced from above Great convenience , acceptable I’ll give it 5/10 Communal areas: Really well presented and well maintained I’ll give it 9/10 Hotel app A feature I haven’t come across before, very convenient and effective (can book room service, amenities, luggage collection, etc, My score :9/10 Read less

I was disappointed in my this visit having visited earlier in 2023. RO Water is being charged at exorbitant rates . Never ever in my life saw such a practice . Veg breakfast lacked variety. The staff is cooperative but had no means to redress our grievance . The management seems to have changed since our Feb 2023 visit .
